My rant on time going by so fast

I cant believe it's september already. Hell I cant believe next month Christmas Decorations and Christmas Music will dominate the stores and airwaves. Where the hell did 2007 go?

I thought it was still 2006 just the other day. I want to know where the whole freakin decade went, it feels like yesterday we were bracing ourselves for Y2K.

It only gets worse the older you get.

 

My dad's theory is that time goes faster as you get older because each year is a smaller proportion of your total time on earth. So for a little kid a year is like a quarter of their life but for an old fart it's much much less.

I have noticed that once i got out of college time goes by really fast because we all have so much to do and the days of laying around the dorm room playing ps2, sleeping in, staying out late are gone. booo to that.

I remember when my first daughter started kindergarten -- today she started fifth grade.

My wife and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary recently. We talked about what we've done together and commented that it does not seem like it has been 16 years. I have really tried to take things in stride in an attempt to "slow down" time. You know -- to stop and smell the roses.

I just got done with grad school this spring and I was thinking about when I started and had to stop and go "holy crap, that was FOUR years ago!" Then I thought about starting undergrad and did and even bigger "holy crap" that it was eight years ago.

Wow, MSC, I remember when you were posting about your move for grad school. Makes me feel like a bit of a veteran around here.

 

I also remember RyDogg66 saying one fall that he wouldn't be around the site much since he was starting law school. And you know, we never did hear from him for like three years. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif

Yeah, even thinking about when I started posting around here gave me another "holy crap" moment.

I had arguments in defense of John Vander Wal and thought that Matt Ford could be a big part of our future.
