Navigating through the Message Boards

I know that I sent a message to B.T.A about this already, but nothing ever came of it so I thought I would get your opinions to see if anyone shares my opinion on how frustrating it can be to navigate through these message boards.

 

My complaint is simple. If I am in the main forums page, and I want to skim through posts in 4 different forums (Major Leagues, Off-Topic, Trading Post, Transaction Rumors/Proposals), I am constantly clicking the "back button" or clicking on "main forums" link again just to get back to the main page so I can check out a different forum. This might seem stupid and petty of me, but when I'm reading a post in 1 forum, I have to back out of the forum before entering a new one, which is wasted time. And if the browser windows dont open instantaneously, that turns into minutes of wasted time waiting for unnecessary pages to load.

 

I am not a webpage guru, but how hard would it be to have links to any of the forums at the top of each forum and each individual post??? In my opinion, it would be a lot nicer to be reading someone's topic in the "Trading Post" and then jump right to the "Off-Topic" Forum. Does anyone else think that would be a good idea for the moderators to add to BF.net???

You're in luck. At the bottom of any given page on the message board, there's a little dropdown menu (Forum Jump) that allows you to go directly to any forum of your choosing. I think that's what you're looking for.

I hear what your saying and yes, that would be convenient. But there is the "forum jump" suedo-button on the bottom of each page, I believe. Sure you have to click it first and then click the forum you want (one extra mouse click) but it does what you want, I think.

I also wanted to add to menotti that you should look into a mouse with back/forward buttons for your thumb. They work very well and speed up the process a lot.

We don't have control over that aspect of the message board programming, unfortunately.

I've actually experimented with something that would best fit on top. Rather than a clone of what's at the bottom, it'd be more of a fraternal twin. Is this something that the majority would want?

I'd use it, but it's not something that NEEDS to be done imo. If it's not too much work for you or one of the guys, casey, it certainly would be nice though.

I agree it doesn't need to be done, but I'd use that all the time. I'd pwn the pwrap outta that thing. Also, Menotti has to have the best sig here.

There's now a LambeauLeap Forum Jump right next to the new Brewerfan Forum Jump at the top of each page. The links in the LL Jump go to the forums on the newly reopened Yuku board.
