Stabbing Westward: "Darkest Days" is a pretty album.

I to enjoy Stabbing Westward, a pretty underrated band I think. Saw them at Summerfest like 7 years ago.

Borrowed this from my buddy and it's pretty good.

Static-X: "Wisconsin Death Trip"

I love this album. I have great memories rocking out to this album back in my U of M dorm room... I even figured out how to play the bass to this album in about three sittings. I believe there are 6-8 bass notes on the entire album if memory serves. "Wisconsin Death Trip" holds enough good ties with NiN and KMFDM that it separates itself from the homogenized hard rock of the era. Static-X's subsequent efforts weren't as good (from what I heard of them anyway), which is too bad.

I think I remember seeing Static-X with Powerman 5000 once... heckuva show.

I am listening to the antithesis of Static X:

It's pretty much awesome. But one would expect it to be, considering all the guy does is write great songs.

I really like Colin Meloy live -- he's much like Jeff Tweedy in that he's not only a great songwriter, but a great showman as well. He certainly has kept me in every Decemberists show I've ever seen throughout the duration of the concert. As for what I'm listening to...

Death Proof [OST]

I loves me some "Down in Mexico" by The Coasters. The entire soundtrack is very Tarantino and very good.

REM - "Accelerate" right now.

Three listens in, it's even worse than I expected it to be. Best thing by far is that it's about 34 minutes long.

Not a muisc album, but a great comedy album.

Such a great comedy album. I find myself quoting that album a lot because of all the everyday things he talks about. Especially the holidays and birthdays.

The Felice Brothers are very solid... need to pass on seeing them again tonight in L.A., but hipsters or not, they are a great young talent...

Kathleen Edwards new disc, Asking for Flowers, is great and lives up to Failer and Back to Me...

And much props to Ohia: Songs - I'm actually listening to Magnolia Electric Companies Fading Trails right now - great CD...

Here ya go (and there's actually more where these came from)... I had a pretty decent spot...

This Cooley pic is one of my favorite pics I have ever taken.

Yeah, he was posing for that shot during one of those times when he was crouched down in front of the crowd. It was pretty awesome. We didn't get Jack Daniels poured down our throats, but that was close enough considering we drove home like five hours through a snowstorm after the show.
