puerto vallarta

has anyone ever been there, and if so where have you stayed? Me and the soon to be wife are going there in april, and we are looking for a nice hotel to stay at. doesn't have to break the bank, but doesn't have to be the cheapest either. we're for sure going the all inclusive route.

I went there about 10 years ago, but I can't recall the name of the resort. There are a few right ouside of Puerto Vallarta that are very nice, all-inclusive type resorts.

All inclusive is the way to go. Haven't been to Puerto Vallarta, but my wife and I stayed at an all inclusive near Playa del Carmen back in '04 and loved it (was sort of a late honeymoon for us). My only regret is that we only stayed for five nights (due to work schedules). Try to book 7 - 10 days if you can, you won't regret it. We booked through a travel agency, and it was basically one of those Apple Vacation packages. I can't remember what we spent exactly, but it was worth it. There's tons of websites where you can search for resorts and find almost constantly updated reviews of most major resorts in Mexico.

I have a time share in Vallerta, if you dont want to stay in PV go 20 minutes north to Nuevo Vallerta, nicer newer resorts - Villa Del Palmar is 5 stars and still pretty cheap. As far as All Inclusive I would disagree, there are so many good restaurants in PV NV Bucieras and Salidas; I just hate being limited to hotel food...

My wife and I stayed at Vallarta Palace on our honeymoon in August of '06. I think it's actually in Nuevo Vallarta. We loved it! It was a very nice place, the restaurants were great, it was all-inclusive. I'd definitely recommend it.
