  1. As soon as that ball went into LF I knew that Prince was going to be head-hunting going into home. It was going to take a near perfect throw to get him because you had to anticipate the collision, I don't have a problem sending him. What's the chances that Gomez gets another hit in that situation?
  2. This "text to vote" for the most surprising team in baseball has run its course. That's the type of question you ask during one broadcast, not during the course of 3-4 or more.
  3. Hah, of course the Brewers get the warning in this situation. *edit - I didn't know that YO hit someone for the Pirates. I don't know how I missed that.
  4. In the in-game thread it was mentioned that Corey asked for a day off.
  5. Cedeno made that a close play by sliding. Absolutely no reason to slide there, but whatever works for him, I guess.
  6. Leadoff triple, and the next two hitters fail to get him in. C'mon Prince!
  7. So gimpy Edmonds is getting another start in RF, is it Inglett in Corey's spot?
  8. Good point, brewmann. I'm paying for the mlbtv package, and I have to admit Tuesday night's game was fun. Last night - not so much. But, I suppose almost everyone else here is paying for cable tv, too.
  9. His over-the-top motion may hurt Parra, but to switch him to a more 3/4 type delivery could really hurt his arm at this point. I think a lot of the issues with Parra are mental, Manny could probably pitch to contact and get away with it, that is he could have a bit more control of his fastball. There doesn't seem to be an inside or outside fastball with Parra, it's right down the middle. If he could control that pitch the way Gallardo does his he would be better.
  10. Shoddy defense can't help Wolf's numbers, but still, he's been underwhelming.
  11. Well, I had the game off to watch Trailer Park Boys, but now that Lo Cain is in it's coming back on!
  12. There goes that lead. I don't like the "feel" of this game. We had to scratch that run out in the first after the first two are in scoring position. And now the Pirates are hitting Wolf decent early, not to mention Wolf hasn't really been getting his pitches down.
  13. I would have sent him. I don't have a problem trying to get 1 run there with Gomez coming up. Gomez hasn't exactly been swinging a hot bat and I would try to play for 1 run early. Why not? The chances of a big inning there are pretty unlikely. If Escobar was up next I would have held Weeks, as he's been hitting the ball pretty decent. All of Gomez's hits lately have been the infield kind. It's easier for me to say all of this because it worked out and Weeks scored anyway.
  14. Prince gets hit again, this is comical. I know that wasn't intentional, but still.
  15. Love that attitude from Gomez, we need more guys like that, right? This guy is driving me nuts. The way he can bunt for hits he should be doing it just about every at bat, until the infield is in on him. When it's in he should just slap the ball on the ground. Yet tonight, after his recent surge of bunt hits, he's up there swinging like he's going to hit a 3 run homerun when the bases are empty. Just awesome.
  16. That would fit Oswalt's criteria, he wouldn't be "the guy" in Philly.
  17. Oh good, Carlos Gomez is pinch hitting. Does Macha just have him drag bunt? It's about the only way he will get on base.
  18. It wouldn't surprise me, but anytime these guys are plunked I'm not really surprised. Intentional or not. He was yelling something, looked like more than one F-bomb to me.
  19. Anyone else see how fired up Braun was going around the bases? I couldn't read his lips to hear what he was saying, probably something about Donnelly coming inside the way he did. When he was in the dugout taking his gloves off I could tell he was still fired up about it. What a shot that one was.
