  1. Toolivebrew, you still think Escobar "should be nowhere near the top of the order"? Absolutely. ST stats don't tell you anything. He is going to struggle to carry an OBP worthy of batting second.
  2. Whenever I hear Ed Sedar talk, I think he should sound like Ving Rhames as Marcellus Wallace. Instead, he sounds like a h.s. science teacher.
  3. MH, your Gamel link is a duplicate of the Cain link. Just in case anyone wants to listen to Gamel in the (I'm sure) roughly 3 minutes it'll take for MH to fix his link, here it is http://wssp.radiotown.com...ing/031410_TimwGamel.mp3
  4. If the other 3 are clearly outperforming Suppan, he should be released. After all what's the point? The money has to be spent anyway. This is what I really hope the Brewers are big enough to admit. The Bill Hall situation makes me feel at least a bit encouraged.
  5. "Release Bush" makes no sense. If the Brewers are going to make the mistake of choosing Suppan over Bush, they will at least be able to bring back something via trade for Bush.
  6. Reminds me a lot of the K-State team with Beasley everyone hyped up years ago that Wisconsin pummeled. Kentucky hasn't seen much defense like Wisconsin this year. Wisconsin also hasn't seen much post rotation like what Kentucky can bring. I don't care if we beat them once already, Duke would be more favorable imo.
  7. I think it sucks that MSU & OSU are not only in the same bracket, but in Kansas's bracket. And what on earth is going on with the South bracket? I guess the committee is big Duke fans.
  8. That cracked me up. Nice find http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Gamel looks like he might have some bad intentions toward McGehee in that picture, too.
  9. Holy crap. Best of luck to Westmoreland -- what a nightmare.
  10. It ends too late for seeding purposes but not for who is in/out. I certainly can't say I know for sure, but what are you basing this on?
  11. Doing well right now, but long term if smaller market teams can't keep their stars... But that's been the case all throughout MLB's rise to this state of wealth & prosperity. Don't get me wrong, as a smaller market fan I'd like to see some changes, but smaller markets have been losing their stars for over a decade now as MLB has risen from the ashes of the '94 strike.
  12. I think Minnesota is in. The selection committee has noted (think I read it in this thread) that the Big Ten champ. game ends too late to use. That would make it 6 Big Ten teams in the dance... looks like this conference is every bit as tough as most have been saying all season long here. Ohio st. escapes in OT And if the refs didn't no-call the travel by Turner & the elbow-hook he got away with (would've been his 5th, instead Tisdale fouled out on the play) down the stretch in that game, OSU wouldn't have escaped. Great performance by Illinois.
  13. Link Seems like a reasonable deal... I'd post more than just a one-liner but I have to run
  14. My point is that the "it's bad for baseball" line just isn't true. MLB's doing very, very well.
  15. Bugs & Cranks with an article on Braun's restaurant's craigslist postings. http://www.bugsandcranks.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/rsz_braunsgrill.jpg--------------------------------- "Models that are bartenders"... and then "EOE"... yeah.
  16. If Mauer leaves for New York or Boston next year, that is bad for the Twins, and bad for baseball. It's really not bad for baseball. It's bad for the Twins & bad for fans of the Twins (& maybe other small-market teams)
  17. My frustration is because Gamel didn't get a legit shot when he should have last season -- he even hit well at the MLB level (league-avg for position as a rookie). It makes me concerned that, even if he takes care of his business, history could repeat itself.
  18. Come on guys, let's focus on the real holes on this team, like 1B & LF.
  19. I have a bad case of the angries. Have I ever mentioned how much Keaton Nankivil frustrates me?!?! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif EDIT: I know Bohannon & Hughes were far bigger disappointments today, but it was the perfect game for him to step up. Illinois only has one true big, and he was guarding Leuer when I noticed. Keaton was just invisi-vil today.
  20. Top 4 seeds in the Big East certainly didn't look very good today
  21. I really like his response when he said (not an exact quote). 'Milton is his own man. He has to live with his comments, not me.' Aka, 'Stop asking me about this, Rome'
  22. I love the way he plays the game. Is it just that he hustles? Or is part of it making the most of physical talent? I've never understood what people find appealing about the way he plays.
  23. Ellsbury hasn't been a good defender in CF anyway, so if we did add him he'd be at a corner spot, assuming Gomez can hit enough to justify playing everyday. If we could get Buchholz for Prince, I think I'd be pretty happy.
  24. Alright! Way to go MU!
  25. #8 seed Georgetown knocked #1 seed Syracuse out of the Big East tourney today 91-84. I hope Marquette can pull off another upset.
