  1. The Kingons are Star Trek-based, though
  2. http://nerdvana.freedomblogging.com/files/2008/11/sidious_holo.jpg Wipe him out. All of him
  3. Nothing more to add than good luck Sam. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. you will never leave the house, now will you. I wasn't aware that was an option.
  5. What mle calculator did you use, those #s don't match up at all with the mle calculators I've found. Interesting... Minorleaguesplits.com. Up until your post, I was 100% sure thier MLE calc. was idiot-proof enough even for me. To clarify, I did enter in the league & park from their dropdown menus, so I think that means it's park-adjusted.
  6. Here's what Chris Neault had to say on Volquez
  7. While I am annoyed with Macha's handling of 3B this season, I agree with PrinceEatMeat that it isn't all that unreasonable to ask & expect a big-leaguer to hit better than the .170/.261/.283/.544 line Bill's scraped together against righties. At least his OBP-BA differential is nearly .100 points! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif The guy has limped to a a .633 OPS overall this season, while crushing LHP to the tune of .317/.333/.537/.870! I know Hall has his limitations, and like I said I do hold Macha most accountable, but come on -- a .544 OPS against righties? That makes Kendall look like a decent option. I have a feeling (and it's just my feeling) that he's not much fun to coach. This has been mentioned/wondered by a few well-informed posters here in recent months/years. Stubbornness, that is.
  8. Ha... that kinda reminds me of Dave Chappelle's portrayal of Lil' Jon (a rapper, for those unfamiliar). Thanks for sharing that story/study, MexicanWeez. I'm not sure if the methodology used is 'good' or not, but certainly worth perusing the charts & data. EDIT: The more I read it/think about it, the more ominous Baker's quote seems. Did he think Prior & Wood were going to be fine? Is his attitude a good one to have regarding the injury, or is it a lackadaisical approach? At this point I'd have to think that he's going to be a lot more careful with young pitching, but who knows.
  9. Haha, sorry -- didn't mean anything bad about Parra/Hart http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The 'dogs playing poker' joke really busted up the theater at the showing I attended. Honestly it may have been the placement/timing of the joke more than how just flat-out hilarious it was/wasn't, but that was darn funny.
  10. I appreciate that Gamel is not as bad as Braun was but I am skeptical that he'll ever be even average at 3B, defensively. But the thing is that Gamel possesses& has displayed the physical tools necessary to be a good defender at 3B. He has quite a bit of range, and is capable of making spectacular throws. If Rickie Weeks can turn himself into a good (at least as far as he got into the '09 season) defender, I'm guessing Gamel can too. Needless to say, I've been impressed by Gamel's skillset on D. His mistakes don't concern me at all to this point, and aside from rookie growing pains I really don't even see Hall as being better than Mat on defense. At the expense of repeating myself yet again, there is just no reason for Hall to be starting over Gamel except (imho) against LHP and/or tough LHP.
  11. Nottso doesn't post nearly enough around here. That had me doubled over. So if it's a guy who is not good at baseball, it's understandable if people question is character? I know that really is how it works but aren't we supposed to pretend that's not true? It's why TGJ got traded! He's a huge jerk!
  12. For reference's sake, Katin's MLEs thus far (184 PA): .249/.277/.474/.751 I wish continued success to Brendan, but really don't agree with the pleas for him to get called up right now. Heck, the Brewers just flat-out cut Brad Nelson earlier this year because he was having a hard time at the plate.
  13. Yeah, Cars has been their 'miss'... kinda like having your worst prospect turn out to be Corey Hart or Manny Parra It's shocking how this movie studio has grown along with me to the point that every movie they have relased since then has struck a nerve at every step of my developement. That's awesome. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. This looks better than some of the movies! *Collapses on floor, passes out * Who the heck wants to be a normal Jedi? *Sheepishly raises hand* I acutally yelled "Holy ****!" when all those red lightsabers lit up. I collapsed on the floor & passed out.
  15. Yes... not arrogant to make an innocent mistake.
  16. To me, it's more that the 4-letter network only thinks about BOS or the NY teams, and the Brewers are reaching the point where they have some talent they're going to have to sell off. However, I think your point on Epstein & Melvin being good GMs plays a role too. You seem frustrated by trade rumors lately, Invader http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Do you see how arrogant that sounded? I really didn't get any hint of arrogance out of 804Sox's post. He made the argument that the Indians are not in a position to compete in the near future (not saying I agree), and that he thinks the Tribe should maximize their return instead of waiting too long & getting burned. He provided a few examples as support. Lee has a cheap option and Cleveland shouldn't be looking to trade him. Lee is signed to a small contract. While I agree that the Tribe shouldn't be trading Lee just to trade him, if the right offer comes & the plan is to deal him sometime soon anyway, why wait? I'd have to guess that the Indians have a fanbase that understands the value of building from within since they had so much success in the late 90s/early 00s with that gameplan. Imo a better example of your 'trading to trade' is the Pirates dealing McLouth, but maybe the Bucs felt the offer from ATL is about the best they'd see for him.
  18. I would never in a million years describe the movie overall as sad (not putting words in Ewizzabeff's mouth here). It's about adventure & finding happiness in life. It was incredible. Did I tear up/cry? You bet... but doesn't mean the movie is sad.
  19. On the other hand, the return on Lee will be much greater if they trade him now. While this is true, the Indians may (rightly so) be looking at retaining Lee to compete in both this season & next. They just don't have the same need to make a trade that Texas did with Teixeira imho.
  20. I definitely would include Votto/Cueto/Volquez/etc., I guess. If the OP is specifically only looking for a true rookie, then like you said just about the only answer is Rasmus -- also scary.
  21. However, I shouldn't complain as we're no longer subjected to Vic Feuerherd's stories Every cloud has a silver lining http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Amen, Rev. Sam, I think you're a filthy liar... but I like it http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. I honestly have no words... but this definitely deserves its own thread http://www.thewrightstache.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/zavada.jpg Now, in honor of the true handlebar superstar, clearly Zavada still has much work to do... http://mustacheglory.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/rollie-5.jpg ... but at worst, he's off to a good start
