  1. Good night from Yo. Safe to say he's bounced back from his struggles last season.
  2. That's an average of less than 14 pitches per inning. Not much cause for concern, imo. I'm sure he's on a very short leash.
  3. Saw it go by on the ticker during tonight's Brewers game that the new owners (Wes Edens, Marc Lasry) will be at McGillycuddy's tomorrow night at 7p to watch NBA playoffs action & give some kind of talk about their plans for the franchise &/or do a fan meet-&-greet.
  4. For all I know, Yo did try to run a FB inside to Cruz. I guess I could go back & watch if I really wanted to. I hear you overall, but I just don't think the Brewers are actively avoiding pitching Cruz inside. It's one thing to have a gameplan & it's another to execute it. Rock was talking on the broadcast about how important it is to pitch Cruz in... I'm going to go out on a limb & say the Brewers know that too
  5. My favorite Lohse moment was when he impersonated Tony LaRussa before a game. http://i.usatoday.net/sports/_photos/2011/06/06/cardinalscoverx-large.jpg I'd forgotten that! Pretty awesome. Lohse really seems like one of the funniest dudes on the team.
  6. Norris was visibly upset that he hit Gomez. He didn't bean him, he tried to run a FB over the inside corner & it ran too far inside.
  7. Trying to temper my excitement, but Jorge Lopez is making that reeeeally tough right now. What a performance!
  8. That's the name of the game in the bigs. He played everyday in the minors & never hit LHP. There's simply no indication that he should 1) get more PAs v. LHP or 2) be expected to start hitting LHPing when it's the best in the world. It's not being overly negative or pessimistic about Gennett. He just isn't a viable option v. LHP, just like Rickie isn't a good defender.
  9. I wouldn't send Scooter down at this point. He is what he is, & will probably always be a guy with an AVG in the .280-.320 range in any given year, without much power or BB rate. He's an average defender, & an upgrade over Weeks in pretty much every aspect of the position save arm strength. If Rickie stays hot, keep playing him & spell him against RHP from time to time with Scooter. And you could do worse than having a LH contact bat like Gennett's coming in to pinch-hit for the pitcher's spot & on double-switches. For me, the issue is having more than one of Bianchi (obviously WOAH SOLVD there), Falu, & Herrera up... they just don't belong over a Gindl & I agree with LouisEly completely that Caleb should be up. It shouldn't take too much creativity to find an option at UTIL/SS backup that isn't just a disaster with the bat.
  10. At this point, I'm not necessarily even sure I'd want to move Marco. I think he could be a valuable asset in the bullpen, especially given the amount of injuries/dings & burnout that's occurred there. I mean, if the right deal comes along of course I'd pull the trigger & I guess just call up a Fiers... but for now we could simply use the quality depth with Estrada in the 'pen.
  11. Braun was running pretty hard, too. It's not like he was just trotting in. The only thing he could've done differently is run through the plate like a close play at 1B, but iirc he got no indication from anyone that he should do so... the guy doesn't have eyes in the back of his head.
  12. And there would certainly be games where good, aggressive baserunning will 'win' the games for us. So 'what would the net be?' is the real question.
  13. Something tells me his focus might primarily be on hitting...
  14. I took the original post as tounge-in-cheek
  15. What elite young SP in the game would you trade for Beltre's age 36 & 37 seasons, for which you pay him a combined $34M? And that's not counting the remainder of his $17M salary this season. If you'd trade Cole for him, I'll do my best to get you a job in a division rival's front office.
  16. I can't wait for this Champions League final to kick off -- El Derbi madrileño. Should be one to remember!
  17. ! Really great write-ups for each guy in the Top 20. Above & beyond the call of duty!
