  1. X 2 He made me cry when I was 10.
  2. You're crazy if you think that option isn't getting picked up. I was hacked.
  3. The surplus value assigned to those prospects accounts for the likelihood that they hit, so that's already in the equation. He's not a TOR arm. He's a #3 starter, but I certainly agree the upside is TOR. I think this is a pretty terrible deal for Houston. A lot of risk in it for them. As you said though, if they win a World Series because of it, who cares? I'm just skeptical that Verlander is the guy that pushes them over the top. Their pitching still isn't scaring anyone.
  4. Wow. That's way more than I was expecting. Good for Detroit.
  5. The Dodger games don't matter much IMO. They're already on cruise control. Still think the Brewers can catch the Rockies, but more so because I think they stink.
  6. this I will. I really don't mind the Cardinals anymore. 2011 was a completely different story though. What a collection of jags that group was. Also, the last out of the game was definitely gone if Keon doesn't catch it.
  7. That was the only problem I had with it. Seriously though, I liked the uniforms quite a bit, but the Dodgers' uniforms were spectacular.
  8. I really don't mind Ueck's ultra-laid back style, it's just frustrating when something's happening in a game, and you can hear people cheering, and you KNOW something's happening, and he's not telling you what happened. Yesterday was a great example of that. yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyep.
  9. Don't disagree much, except I don't think the Cubs go better than 5-5. They're not a particularly good team. About like the Brewers, maybe a little better.
  10. I hear ya. That 63rd win is always sweet.
  11. Anyway, didn't mean to derail what was a huge win. Get 5 out of 9 on this trip somehow, and there's a decent chance they're playing in October.
  12. Uecker's call on that was unbelievably bad. I still don't know what happened. He has gotten to be just awful. I know what you mean but Ueck did say two out so then we knew. He is and will always be my favorite in the booth. I will forgive a lot. I didn't hear anything about two outs so that's my bad. I've always loved him, but man it's rough sometimes. Edit: Also, the crowd told me someone caught it. I just had no idea who or how.
  13. Uecker's call on that was unbelievably bad. I still don't know what happened. He has gotten to be just awful.
  14. He actually said Pena tonight and corrected himself. I couldn't believe it.
  15. Hall made at least a little sense. The other 3 don't strengthen any argument for trying him there. Which I'm pretty sure is what you were going for.
  16. I'd agree overall, especially just thinking LF. CF is a lot more difficult. Yep. LF I agree. There aren't many non-shortstops I'd even want to try in CF. Villar has some OF experience, but this probably won't go well.
  17. Without regard to the stats that have already been pointed out.......... If you'd want Jay Bruce in the lineup over Ryan Braun I can't help you. It's just such a crazy notion.
  18. Yeah, I'm so sad we missed out on Jay Bruce. Such a strange thing to complain about considering there's nowhere to play him.
  19. If Happ gets more votes, that'd be sad. And he's definitely better than Renfroe. Bell and DeJong are debatable. I completely understand your point about him being under-the-radar due to unfamiliartiy but I think the case can be made that he's had the 2nd best season of any rookie. There's not question he's had a top 5 season. Anyway, I just think it'll be an interesting case.
  20. People really think he's not going to get votes? Wow. I certainly hope that's no the case. He's a really good player. Who cares if he's 30?
  21. In a season where payroll is down , and we have $26,000,000 committed next year with a likely payroll around $60,000,000 again, Verlander seems like a great idea to me. There's really no down side other than Mark's money, which, again who cares. I don't think he'd come here though.
  22. I respect the hell out of your opinion in general. There's no chance he went. That was a horrible call. The rest I agree with you on.
