  1. Last week I set a new personal best 31 spam calls in a day. I set the default ring to silent and gave all my contacts a ringtone, so at least I don't really even know when they call.
  2. Packers wouldn't take Maye even if he's available to us. Gute and MLF won't stick their necks out to admit defeat on their guy Love and the added job insecurity that comes with that. And maybe I'm wrong but it doesn't feel like those two are particularly close to being replaced just yet.
  3. I don't think there has ever existed a man buried in more places than him.
  4. Starting to see Fashanu mocked to the Packers in the next draft, which makes me happy. Him plus a FA RT would make for a good OL. I also think Dillon gets undo criticism and his numbers are only poor because of the line in front of him. I'd be happy to see him back next season, though if I were him I'd go to the Steelers or Titans or whatever team values more of a power RB.
  5. Dobbs can at least help convince Vikings fans they're trying to win, so it makes sense. Sure you can tank but you have to pretend like you're not trying to. But what does Chicago get with Sweat now as opposed to just throwing money at him in FA in the off-season? Do they get draft compensation if he leaves or something?
  6. It got talked about a lot during Shaq's FT troubles that the taller guys can't get as much of a down-angle on their shot as the shorter guys, leading to a worse %.
  7. You can't really make too many conclusions about a QB when all the other working parts (OL, WR, Coaching) aren't good. We'd be saying Sam Darnold was a decent QB if he only wound up in better spots than NY and Carolina. Fashanu will go well before the Packers pick, so it's Joe Alt or bust for me. And I'm also in the camp that a G/C would be great in the second round, too.
  8. Well, sure been a fun past couple months. SEC got destroyed in their court case and have announced that they won't be appealing the decision, making it certain-but-not-technically-certain for the ETFs to arrive but at an unknown time. Apparently BlackRock posted their ETF ticker yesterday and the SEC of course made them take it down. Tempted to take profits now, which would probably be the smart thing to do, but a $34k BTC still doesn't seem over-bought and I'm more tempted to just keep doubling down and hold until that ETF does indeed arrive, whenever that might be. Plus Ark and BlackRock will be buying up a lot of BTC in the meantime.
  9. Purina is opening a factory near me and the entry-level folks are starting at $55k. It was pretty tempting. Plus I assume like the M&M factory it's ok to snack while you're working:)
  10. That's the best advertising MLB could have ever gotten for itself. Though I can't help but think how disconcerting it would be to discover everything you were saying to your buddy was being recorded.
  11. Carolina turned down two first-rounders from the Rams for Burnes, but I think they've realized they should have accepted it and gotten Young more help. If the Packers traded Watson, and I really don't see any reason they'd do so, I'm sure the return would come from whatever they'd get for Burnes. Not to say that Watson is a superstar or anything, but I think we're really overestimating our remaining guys to think we could get by fine without Watson. Really crossing my fingers for Joe Alt next year but I get the feeling he won't last until we pick.
  12. Bucks offense last year was 28th after a TO, and their half-court offense looked more like four guys passing it to Giannis and getting a breather. Plus the team was 21st in free throw attempts. And an interesting statistic I saw is that the Bucks were 5th worst in the League at driving the lane. Lillard pretty significantly improves all the things the Bucks were bad at last year.
  13. I had the same thought, that the economic ball was going to drop, so I moved my money into more recession-type accounts. About six months ago moved my 401k into a bond account, though how garbage my 401k mutual funds are, it really hasn't much under performed the other options. Even their "small cap fund" is 60% bonds. Took a big hit when Origin Materials had a bad report and lost 65% overnight. That one hurt. Otherwise moved things to Western Union which is doing a +12%, Cal-Maine Foods is a +5% but it pays an 11% dividend. Also holding onto Butterfield Bank which is an offshore tax haven bank at +16%. Origin Materials has me losing to the S&P YTD but otherwise I'm doing ok. May be the first time in a while I don't beat the market on the year. Butterfield was recently downgraded but I'm otherwise holding to what I have. Still not positive on the economy and happy with WU and CALM.
  14. Sure a big risk to pass up #1 overall money to try not to get inured another year in order to make #1 overall money. Plus still a good chance the next #1 overall team is equally bad at developing QBs. Plus the Bears will be starting over with a brand new coaching staff specifically hired to develop YOU. If it's the Bears they take Williams and Fashanu. If it's the Cardinals they take Williams and that WR Harrison. Murray only has a $13M dead cap hit if he's traded, though I can't imagine they could land much in return. Murray is eligible to come off the PUP list, but the team hasn't bothered doing so. They're done with him and wouldn't want to interrupt from their tank season.
  15. I assumed Nixon was only taking it out when he otherwise shouldn't have because we were down by a lot so soon and we were hoping for the big play. If we were tied that's one thing, but isn't it a more reasonable risk to take when you're down three scores? Is Dillon really that bad or is it more that he's strictly a N/S runner and he's stuck hoping Newman and Myers hold their blocks? I couldn't find any Jones vs. Dillon YPC average when running between tackles. Two years ago Dillon danced a lot and now he never does, so I wonder if he also suffers a lot from the coaching staff trying to change too much about him. I think he'll see more success as a RB eventually, just not on the Packers.
  16. Jrue had posted a Tweet just hours before the trade happened that he loved Milwaukee and wanted to retire as a Buck :(
  17. Imagine the energy Lillard is going to have now that he's not carrying an entire city on his back!
  18. We must be in luxury tax hell right now.
  19. Just heard. What????? Will miss Holiday's defense, but it's also reasonable to say he's slowing down a smidge. And Grayson wasn't seeing the court in crucial minutes because he can't play defense. And what's best is so much of the offensive load was being thrown on Giannis, but not any more. Good luck trying to triple team Giannis now!
  20. Cripes it's 1:00 and I work at 8. I really gotta get back in the habit of setting a nighttime alarm to tell me when to go to bed.
  21. I'm gonna assume Jim Leonard told the Packers he wanted a little bit of a break from coaching before he got back into it and so that's why Barry got to keep his job. It makes me feel better to think of it that way. Otherwise Mark Murphy needs to go even moreso than Joe Barry.
  22. Does it really make much more money since they're only scheduled an hour apart? Wouldn't you just be splitting the viewerbase and therefore not making that much more than if you only showed one game?
  23. If my scintillating conversation were part of the fee maybe $1 is indeed more appropriate.
  24. Despite that I still get told that me charging $4 for a hot dog is a rip-off and I should be charging $1 because they can go home and make one for 30c. My bun and condiments alone cost me more than 30c, though I'm not going to argue with them and just tell them to go ahead and do so.
  25. It's the diphenhydramine in it. You can save money by buying generic allergy pills, or what I do, buy bulk diphenhydramine pills on Amazon. I take a lot of sleeping pills each night.
