  1. I've been calling for Hall to get some more starts vs rhp, obviously the numbers to this point say otherwise. But, I expect Hall to have a big 2nd half and eventually earn his everyday role back essentially demote Branyan to be our lefty bat on the bench.
  2. FWIW, CV said on some post game show(maybe a pregame show, not positive but pretty sure it was 620) that Gallardo WAS throwing from flat ground..
  3. Why is that hard to believe? If I was a pitcher who dropped 400 foot bombs I'd want to swing it too
  4. huh? those are all lefties above him... Also, if/when Escobar is in the bigs, he will be a SS. Stud defensively. Why move him off the most important position if he excels at it?
  5. I really don't get why people always refer to the money "coming off the books" in the off-season. There's no doubt we could afford to sign one of them and make it work next year, the problem is in years 3, 4, 5, etc. It will be hard to keep a competitive roster unless we have about half of our roster as pre arby guys in those years.
  6. Cool idea and thanks for sharing with us 10 runs 13 pitches I just got home from work and wanted to enter, so I didn't have time to look at every page so sorry if someone already made that guess..
  7. Braun homer came within one row of me! so close
  8. I was really annoyed by that, he was going on and on about our infield and including Braun in that. Come on, he's the starting LEFT FIELDER for the National League All Stars. He was annoying and even painful to listen to, he wasn't funny at all.
  9. i also bought mine last night. LF loge bleachers, forgot the section. hopefully i can have a view of the brewers pen http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. yes, yes they would. pretty sure theyd trade their entire starting lineup for that package.
  11. The main reason for wanting a lefty bat is for when they face righties, so he is a lefty bat. Plus, I doubt Gord would say they are looking to add a switch hitter to the line up if they were actually targeting Roberts, which I hope they are
  12. I'd take a chance on Burnett, but not for Escobar or Hardy, that's insane. I also want no part in adding Brantley to a CC deal. I am praying that DM sticks to his guns on not giving up two of the five.
  13. I disagree. Especially when the only other offer being discussed is a bunch of A ballers from Philly. I'm sure we could put together a package of A ballers to beat theirs. We are the only team reportedly offering a stud, and if they are considering a quantity deal we have the quantity. Wouldn't surprise me at all if DM isn't offering LaPorta and I wouldn't blame him
  14. hahaha this is priceless Yeah man, you can't bring JUST the condiments to a party, what is he thinking???????
  15. I've been saying for awhile now that it's very possible that Laporta,Green and Cain have never been actually on the table. Yes, TH reported it and he has direct conversation with DM. But, is it really like Doug to just say "yeah man, we offered LaPorta and Green hopefully they bite." How do we know for fact that that actual offer was on the table? If it was, I can see Shapiro wanting to try to milk more or get other teams involved but I highly doubt he'd turn it down. If he does then I think he is not a good GM or evaluator of talent, and borderline stupid. Is it impossible to think that DM gave LaPorta's name to TH to throw it out there for the very reason of seeing if other teams bite? I admit it's not likely, but with the Indians stalling with no other reported deals even close to ours I'm really skeptical that the rumored deal is or was even on the table. If it was and he takes a deal from Philly for a bunch of low prospects it will blow my mind. Another thing is DM actually said he preferred a quantity deal over dealing one of our top guys, especially for a rental. I understand that could've changed this is all so crazy I don't know what to think.
  16. I know what you mean Mickey. It has been strange to me how open they seem to be with this when he is usually close to the vest and denies everything
  17. Stick to your guns Dougie. LaPorta, Green and Cain is the absolute best deal I offer and even that has me on the fence. Asking for more than that is literally laughable.
  18. I was saying the same thing in the chat during the game. If Cain can be had for a similar package, I'd prefer that
  19. I agree Splitter. I'd do that deal as TGJ clearly has no future here, Brantley is better and coming on fast. I'd gladly take Maddux as a 5th starter
  20. Dude, why wouldn't Cleveland try and get more at the last minute of trade negotiations? That doesn't mean they won't accept our offer in the end. I also don't think DM is bidding against himself. I'm pretty sure our offer is and will be the best on the table, I'm calling their bluff that they won't take the LaPorta and Green offer. I doubt we panic and give more than that. It also has been said that our offer is only on the table for a limited amount of time, that makes sense because we want every start possible from him. Cleveland is trying to get more out of us or the moon from another team but it won't happen. CC Sabathia will make his next start for the Milwaukee Brewers and it will not cost the Brewers more than the mentioned LaPorta and Green deal. Book it.
  21. Thanks for the update madtown. I don't get why they want Hardy either with Peralta. I absolutely don't want to give up anymore than that offer and I'm a bit uncomfortable with it as it is. I don't think they will get a better offer and I'm sure they are just trying to bait us into adding more. I'd stand pat with that deal. If they want Escobar they'd have to add something significant. I also want Maddux in addition to CC, not instead of.
  22. Same here, if both of those guys are traded for just Sabathia I'll be upset
  23. This is how all trades work though. GMs don't have the advantage of knowing the other teams offers. DM already has in mind what he is willing to offer and if the Tribe wants to play hardball and say other teams have a better offer on the table then so be it. We can call their bluff and keep our proposal on the table, maybe make a slight tweak to sweeten the pot but nothing like "throwing in" a top tier guy. I say offer something like this: -Their choice of Salome OR Brantley -Gillepsie(or any OF not named LaPorta if they prefer) OR Nelson -Then they pick two more guys of their choice off of a list of lower guys (Dillard, Irribaren, Bray, Braddock, etc) I would not in any way include LaPorta, Gamel, Escobar or Jeffress. The more I think about it the more I pray we don't give up these potential studs for a dozen starts from a guy. I'm even reluctant to give up Salome or Brantley. I am happy to hear DM leaning towards a quantity trade. We have some guys, especially Gillepsie and Nelson who are solid and almost ready guys that would be higher rated prospects in most organizations but get somewhat overlooked in the deep Brewers system. It's that depth that allows us to take a chance in a quantity deal. I still think if we move any of the four I bolded above we better be getting a Cain or someone we control beyond this year. Edit to add: I totally disagree with people proposing trading LaPorta because he is another righy bat. So what, a special bat is a special bat. You can get lefties with the last few positions you fill in your order.
