  1. If he is, that seems weird to me to post it as on OT on that site and not on this site
  2. I just have no sympathy for that and see that as an excuse because if that truly was the case, he has the money and the opportunity to get serious help. People a lot less fortunate than him, with a lot less of a support system around him have overcome a lot more difficult things. If he wanted to change and fix this, he could.
  3. They can have Jeffress...
  4. Righty-righty is not as dramatic as lefty lefty for the simple fact that righties are used to seeing so many more righties so it's not as abnormal, it's just hitting. Lefties change ups do have more of a natural screw ball effect than a righties. I used to throw a circle change and when it was on it broke as much as my breaking ball, but in the opposite way. I couldn't throw it to lefties because it ruins the point of offspeed. If they are out in front, like you want them to be, they still have a chance to get the barrel on because of simple timing and ball location. The ball is closer to them at the same time that their bat is about to leave the hitting zone. I hope that makes some sense, I think it makes more sense in my head than it does in writing.
  5. Exactly, I think in most cases people deserve second chances. But he failed once to get a warning, twice to get suspended, three times when he was caught by the Brewers during his suspension and how his FOURTH time. After missing that many games and then being caught by the Brewers during that suspension how on earth does a light bulb not go off?
  6. It's completely mind blowing to me that this kid is continually hurting his development and jeopardizing such a golden opportunity. This isn't his second time being caught, it's his fourth. That's pathetic, I'm sorry. Gotta wonder how much he actually cares about baseball if after being caught 3 times he hasn't had a lightbulb moment that says wow maybe I should chill out for a while. And I don't even have a problem with weed, I used to smoke some, my friends do, it's not really dangerous. That's not the point though, if it's something that can keep you from playing and getting better(doing your job) then you need to refrain from doing it for the time being. I also think claiming the addiction route is so weak. It's not physically addicting and he's in such a fortunate spot because of his god given talent that with any will power he should be able to see that he's messing up, really bad. He's not addicted because he has an addictive personality, he's making stupid decisions and by claiming addiction it's just making excuses for him.
  7. I agree with this, and as good as Counsell has been, it makes me nervous to continue to rely on him and those old bones and that rickety knee.
  8. Good job as always guys
  9. It'd be nice to see a good AB from Gerut....ever... Take a walk, hit a ball hard, anything
  10. What am I missing that even puts Butler in this conversation?
  11. Also, Macha said he's going to have to earn his way back, he'll have to pitch well, no promises
  12. I don't know, his throw home was from really shallow in center and it didn't get there in the air. Even his throws to 2nd were really short throws that were caught at the infielders feet.
  13. Richardson ran a 6.2 60 yard dash, wow... I hope he settles in and learns how to hit. No doubt, from his video he seems to have a good arm too, and was a QB at FSU, he's an impressive athlete for sure. He has good size too if he can develop some power...talk about toolsy. One of my favorite picks along with Walla. I really like the pick of Paul Howell in the 15th round. Same here. I will be especially interested in seeing where our college guys- mainly Arnett, Heckathorn, Davis and Richardson- start and how quickly they can move through the system.
  14. Is it just me or does Franklin Romero's arm look really weak here?
  15. I like the Howell and Gennett picks here. Worth a try at getting Gennett signed imo at that stage in the draft.
  16. I absolutely love the Walla and Richarsonson picks. Walla- left handed power potential, sounds like he'll sign, really excited to be a Brewer Richardson- he ran a 6.2, and was a college QB at FSU, watching his videos he looks like he has a hose. That's a crazy athletic combo of speed and arm, if he hits he could be special imo. Reminds me of a young, faster vlad, hey I can dream Davis- I'll like this pick a lot more if he sticks in cf, but I get the feeling he won't. They must think his bat will play in left. I heard Seid say he might stick in cf but he didn't sound too convinced of that actually happening. I like our college arms, they should both start for sure and I'm glad they will be. Not as high on Garfield, Hall and Prince personally.
  17. Well if we can deal him in the offseason for as good or better of a package I'm all for it. But, if Buchholz could be had now and might not be in the off season then I have a hard time turning that down. I know it would be tough to take the hit offensively this year. But man, 5-6 years of Buchholz is mighty tempting. Especially if we can find a way to replace some of that offense by getting Holliday http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. I think it will be interesting to compare Garfield's development to the Yankees pick two picks later. Another prep catcher with a similar build, John Murphy
  19. Walla sounds like a Jack Z pick. Can't run, limited to a corner of, but can flat out swing it
  20. Anyone else surprised to see 3 college guys?
  21. they better really like him and feel good about signing him. I feel he would have been there at 47, really would have preferred Scheppers
  22. Boras guy that could go back to school?
