  1. I predicted Cain would be sitting, glad to see he's still in there. Ride Yelich and Cain literally almost every day, barring a nagging injury or something. Santana hasn't played for a couple days, so I'm fine. When it comes down to Santana vs Braun, hard to be upset either way. A small part of me wants Braun full time at 1B, Santana FT in RF and just let it ride without Thames, LH bat or not. Arcia..... could be they are working with him on certain things at the plate and he isn't doing what they've asked. Who knows, just a wild theory I'll admit.
  2. Yes, and while watching the game you are required to post random pictures of your great kids/pets and pictures to verify to everyone that you had the best vacation imaginable.
  3. Dear Millennials: If you saw the Brewers game last night, do you still think I'm boring? If so, I have nothing further to offer you. Sincerely, Baseball
  4. Honestly, sounds like you're debating with a strawman. Everyone since your initial post has agreed with you. But as you're ripping him down, you claim some other teams want to trade for him. Why would they if he's as bad as you say he is? Also, what is exactly the harm in keeping him around?
  5. Tex, I may have missed it, but I haven't seen anyone saying Broxton should be on the roster?
  6. Yes athletes are human, yes they make mistakes. What most of them don't do is take PEDs then lie about it. This whole "nobody's perfect" mantra just falls on deaf ears. Oh, and for the record, I don't accept the premise most everyone in business lies, all executives cheat on their wives, etc. And if I do run across people like that, no, I don't like or respect them either. So no different than Braun.
  7. A little house cleaning on the subject. 1) As Briggs pointed out, the "hate" from opposing teams' fans is due in large part that Braun is good. Ramirez was booed here, Molina still is. Can you blame fans from teams like the Pirates booing Braun? He has destroyed them over the years. Sure, the PED thing poured fuel on the fire. 2) "Hate" is a strong word. Even most of the Brewers fans who still boo Braun probably don't HATE him. 3) People make mistakes, everybody lies, other players have used PEDs. All true, and excuses exactly none of Braun's actions. It is not a level playing field for players who do not use PEDs, plain and simple. As far as the "everybody lies" thing Braun is a public figure. Nobody cares if I lie, or tmwiese, or topper. 4) Finally, I've seen comments about how ONE TIME he rubbed cream on his leg. All I can say is if you choose to believe that, fine. I will believe he has used various PEDs off and on since his days in Miami.
  8. Quick poll. Stay away from the "should." Who gets day off tomorrow? My gut tells me Cain.
  9. Perrin not on AAA roster either? Must be injury news coming.
  10. Santana's value was lower than Stearns thought, it happens. Kudos to him for not just giving him away. There really is no issue vs LH starter. Braun plays 1B, Santana plays RF. RH starter is trickier, and there's no easy answer. I still think it will work itself out, but in the meantime I would have Santana starting, with Braun the odd man out. Maybe give him a few more starts at 1B against RH. Most importantly, they have Cain/Yelich starting every game. May seem obvious, but I wouldn't have been surprised if they each had a day off by now. I really hope this is the plan, that they start at least 150 games if healthy.
  11. Welcome! This board could use a few more "howdys" and "y'alls"
  12. Right. See the Mudcats Roster thread....
  13. Excited to watch my first game this season, I haven't been able to watch a single inning yet.
  14. So Perrin, Peralta, and Lopez get a bump to AAA. Unless there's an injury to one of them we don't know about.
  15. I thought he was on the injured list....see the other thread Thanks!
  16. I don't see Mario Feliciano listed on either Mudcats or TRats roster?
  17. Yes. Mainly because unreported income is a huge reason why the rest of us pay higher taxes. There is so much income from tips, people on 1099s, etc. that doesn't get taxed. If they just bumped up their wages 15-20% and be done with it, that would be great.
  18. I will always believe there's a decent chance he used PEDs his entire career going back to his days in Miami. Maybe that's not fair, but that's what I believe. In fact, in a lot of ways, it makes more sense than suddenly just trying it one year.
  19. I rarely listen to the games on the radio, so I don't have a dog in this fight. However, it sounds like the biggest complaint about Uecker is not mentioning the score, inning, etc. often enough. If that's the case, I lay the blame on the producer not Uecker. Doesn't take much to talk in his ear or slide him a note whenever he needs a reminder to drop in that info.
  20. I don't agree with that at all. Lots of people would hold the PED thing against him regardless of how he handled it. Just the fact he did it. No doubt, the way he handled it made it much worse.
  21. I've seen a couple people now comment on how they never heard of this being a thing. It is, it's just that it doesn't happen often. But yes, you will hear players and coaches complain about how the opposing team shouldn't be taking advantage of a pitcher tipping pitches. Really ridiculous, but true. Same thing when it comes to stealing signs, you'll hear that one more often.
  22. Not every AAA player is a prospect, ask Dillard. Blanci is AAA roster filler.
