  1. Yea, something weird is happening on Gameday today. Mine said 2B, instead of 6-4.
  2. Not sure what you would consider "cheap" but yesterday I just got 10 tixs for 9/6 (Cardinals) at $21 each in Terrace. That was less than I expected (especially Cards, weekend, etc.)so I jumped on it. Actually pretty good seats too, as far as the Terrace goes.
  3. Except Fiers has no normal level. He is either the best starting pitcher in baseball when he's on a stretch like this, or he is not effective at all (like the end of the 2012 season.) I fully expect RR to use the vets no matter what, but I think it would be foolish not to start Fiers if he's still pitching like this come October. Actually, I'm open to the idea of using a 5 man rotation in the playoffs, depending on how they're all doing coming into the playoffs. Keep the arms fresh, the opponent doesn't get a 2nd look at the starter as often, and as of now there really isn't much separation 1-6. Sticking a to a 5 man rotation in the playoffs may not be the worst idea.
  4. Be prepared to hear 7,000 times today how difficult it is to catch a knuckleball from the Brewers TV crew. I'm working, so I will miss that insight. Also, the knuckleball is the grand-daddy of all breakkaballs.
  5. I have no problem with fans of Man City who were fans years ago. But if you're jumping on the bandwagon now or in the past couple of years, you're almost as bad as a Man U or Chelsea fan. It was actually a few years before that. My daughter attended a Brittish soccer camp that travels through WI every year. I was an assistant coach at the time, so attended the camp also. Got to know a couple of the "kids" running the camp and they were big Man City fans. That's what got me on board, plus learned a lot about the Man U rivalry, and the whole EPL in general. It's now on my bucket list to see a City/ U match. Also, Inter/ FC Milan match.
  6. I meant to mention this in my original post. Whoever the two "odd men out" are when the playoffs start, it should WHOAA SOLVV the issue of 8th inning guy/ RHP out of the pen. Whoever they are, they need to get over the fact they're not starting and embrace their role. For example, Nelson taking on the 8th inning role could be huge for this team.
  7. I don't think that's clear at all. That's why I want to see all 6 start, and make that decision at the end of the year. For example, if Fiers is still this dominant a month from now, I put him in the playoff rotation. If Peralta keeps doing what he's doing, I have him in the rotation. It's all about health and performance, and there's no way I pencil in Lohse, Garza, and Yo this early. This is about winning a World Series, not codifying a couple veterans.
  8. They will have 6 guys in the rotation already, no room for Jungmann this year. I think he takes the Nelson route, let him start in AAA again next year and eventually he will get his shot.
  9. Lohse should be back in a few days, and latest news is Garza should be back in roughly two weeks. That leaves us with 6 starters, the proverbial "good problem to have." Would it make sense to go with a 6 man rotation in September? All of the starters on track to pitch a huge amount of innings, and this may be a way to keep them fresh down the stretch and into the playoffs. Plus, I don't think there's much difference now from 1-6. I still have flashbcks to what happened the last two playoff appearances. Sheets and Marcum had dead arms by the time October rolled around. Fiers seemed to burn out in 2012 at the end of the year. Nelson is going to be way over the innings he pitched last year at this pace. If they went to the six man rotation, it would save a couple starts for each guy and have them all fresh for October. The only downside I can see is changing the routine, and I just don't know how big of a factor that really is. What do you think?
  10. Whatever became of hurricane?
  11. Coshun, I dare you to complete a sentence that doesnt end with "no question about that."
  12. Down on the farm report... Sthervin Matos hit a grand slam tonight for the Trats
  13. Wow that's a ball Gomez catches 107 out of 100 times
  14. If you're looking for an English Premier League team to get behind, join me in support of Man City. Don't worry about being trendy, they have actually been an also-ran until recent years. If you need a good reason, they hate a team in red as much as Brewer fans do.
  15. My wife pointed out something about Demuth. Highly advanced metrics here, so I hope I don't lose you. "He looks nervous." I blew it off, but after wtaching him play a few games, I hate to admit I saw what she was talking about. He just didn't look confident at all. Not just at the plate, but between innings...just the way he carried himself. I don't know what to make of that, other than an observation. Some guys do have a hard time adjusting to a new clubhouse that late in the year, maybe he'll be better off starting fresh in Appleton next year.
  16. Rivera could be another one of those guys. Arcia gets all the love, and for good reason. But Rivera could be one of those guys that can break through. He's only 22 in AA, and getting better.
  17. And right after posting this, they go on to win 4 in a row. Yes, I will pat myself on the back.
  18. Would I have kept Yo in? Yes. But bringing in your closer to close isnt crazy. You dont want the starters arms to be dead in Oct.
  19. If I don't get the job I'm voting for you Topper!
  20. I was told there would be no math.
