  1. Nelson > Estrada Fiers > Kinzler or Wang Jeffress > Wooten or Wang It's as simple as that. I don't care about Super 2, I don't care about jostling the 40 man roster. I'm sick of having a roster of 20 players who should be there, and 5 who shouldn't.
  2. Sure they would, in that scenario. First, by matching the Bucks offer for Bledsoe they would be adding a lot of salary. Then by taking Mayo or Irsan, they would be adding that salary also, no? Bucks wouyld be the ones shedding salary, taking on Ennis minimal salary and losing Mayo/Irsan salary.
  3. Didn't get a chance to see Germany v Brazil. First time I checked it was 5-0. In the first half yet! I can only assume Brazil gave up?
  4. If they match Bucks offer for Bledsoe (if it goes that far) would you consider trading for Ennis? What do you think it would take? I would throw Irsan and/or Mayo at them, but I doubt they would want to take on that salary.
  5. I think he needs a quicker release. And about 4". He just isn't tall enough and don't think he can guard opposing point guards. I agree with all that. There's reasons why he wasn't drafted the #1 overall pick- or even drafted at all. Never said he will make it, just that he has a chance. He does have deep range, just wasn't as consistent as you would like. That can be developed, just a matter of whether the Bucks or any other team wants to take on that project. I think he would be fine defensively, at least he would give an effort on that side of the floor. Just like Gardner, I don't see him making it (for entirely different reasons, of course) but that's what the summer is for- sometimes a guy surprises you.
  6. Right. Even more innings if he is one of the 3 you role with in the playoffs. And that's not impossible. No time for hurt feelings, who's "deserving", etc. You need to go with the 3 guys who are pitching the best, and that could very well be Nelson. Right now, if he gets called up and added to the Brewers rotation, he's on track for WAY over 200 innings.
  7. Brust has a chance to play. If you can shoot, there's a job for you in the NBA. If Dwight Buyks somehow found a way onto an NBA roster, no reason to believe Brust doesn't at least have a chance.
  8. One way to limit Nelson's innings is to use him in the Brewers pen. They need an effective RHP out of the pen badly. Maybe use Nelson in that role for 4-6 weeks or so, then stretch him out for the pennant chase? I know it's not ideal, but it would be a way to get the most out of him, without blowing out his innings this year. Otherwise, I don't see a way around it short of just shutting him down for a month, and then bringing him up. That's not ideal either, of course.
  9. You don't have to worry about Bucks fans. We're already fully behind a new arena. But this is going to be a tough sell to the rest of the population, so they really need to get their PR house in order. Don't blame it one the media, the way they handled the whole Drew/ Kidd thing was a debacle. T This has also created a legitimate concern over whether the owners are two Jerry Jones. Hard to turn the shop in the right direction if you're not sure who's steering it. I don't buy the argument "these are smart guys, they know what they're doing." Smart people do really stupid things every day. Kidd seems to believe his role will be more than Coach, yet Hammonds is still around and didn't have anything to do with Kidd coming here. This is a red flag, and they need to figure out quickly which one of these four guys is in charge of basketball operations.
  10. That's how the article linked above starts. If that's how he started the article, I don't need to read the rest of it.
  11. At the half-way point, our Brewers have the best record in the NL. Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying it. And I will enjoy the pennant chase the 2nd half of the year, regardless of what happens. For most of the last 30 years, a chance to make the playoffs was the exception, not the rule. With that said, I can't help but look at other top teams, and without exception their rotation looks better- especially the 3 man playoff rotation. Nats, Braves, Cards, Cincy, Giants, Dodgers all fit that mold. Hate to be a downer, but just seems like it will be an uphill battle to win two series against those teams. So, what would it take to get Price? Yo, Bradley, Morris, and pick a AA OF? Would that be enough do you think? I would do Yo and any combination of guys that aren't top level prospects. Heck, they can even have Roache.
  12. Probably most coaches. But most coaches don't scheme behind the scenes to take their boss's job. Especially after ONE season, and a mediocre season at that. To compare Kidd to Popavich was pretty funny though. Riddle me this. Has his desire to be involved at a higher level suddenly gone away? No, I don't think so either. So who is going to be making personnel decisions, let a lone a master plan for building this team. One/both majority Owners? Hammond? Kidd? All of the above? This is a recipe for disaster if they have too many cooks in the kitchen. These new owners know how to run companies, I can only have faith that they know that would be a problem. I just can't believe Kidd will be happy being "just" the coach, and it's not healthy if he's not 100% focused on coaching the team this year.
  13. And Kidd did less than either of them in NJ with more talent.
  14. You don't know that. So far, he has shown nothing but a desire to look out for himself. When things got tough in NJ, he threw his friend under the bus. Then when they had a better 2nd half and made the playoffs he tried his coup attempt at the GM job. I don't think we have any idea what kind of coach he will be, other than there are plenty of warning signs. Look, I don't care one way or the other if Drew came back for a year. I do think he did a decent job navigating mixed signals on tanking/ not tanking. Any given night he had no idea who would be on the floor. I pretty much figured he would be shown the door, I just don't like Kidd- but I hope I'm wrong.
  15. Jason Kidd is a big mistake. The new owners have been saying and doing all the right things until now. Lasry knows him, great. I know all kinds of people I wouldn't want in my house, much less working for me.
  16. .791 OPS vs RHB. As good as he's been, tough to put him in the rotation or closer role with that number. Just for something to think about, Zach Duke is .532 OPS vs RHB- actually better than vs LHB. Now, some of that is skewed a little since Smith has been asked to face the better part of the line-up more often, but .791 is still up there. His numbers actually scream LOOGY, but I think he can be more than that. If he learns how to get RHB out, he can definitely take on either the closer role or starting rotation. As for Aoki, sorry to see him injured. With Cain, Escobar, and now Aoki I really pull for KC. Even healthy though, this was a nice trade for the Brewers.
  17. its not an odd year True, but isn't ANY year with Yuni on the roster an odd year?
  18. Yea, I think even if the roster changes I still don't see any minutes for Inglis, but that's probably the plan. I do think they have to be careful moving forward. I like the rebuilding mode, but they can't do that with too many projects.
  19. There is only one possibility that makes sense- Yuni
