  1. So, now wearing masks is not a good idea, again. I swear they're making this up as they go along, yet people are still listening to the "experts" and their junk science. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/health-news/who-guidance-healthy-people-should-wear-masks-only-when-taking-care-of-coronavirus-patients/ar-BB14JBI4?li=BBnb7Kz
  2. I'm in the middle. I do not want the NBA (or MLB,NFL) play on neutral sites with no fans. I rather just cancel the season. For me, enjoying the ride is a big part of winning a title. That said, if the Bucks would win it all this year there's no asterisk. They were the best team all year, and if they win it they deserve the title- period. I've been waiting longer than most all of you for a Bucks title, and I will celebrate. At the same time, it just won't be as fun under this format they're proposing.
  3. Zero was really good. Almost lost me 1st episode, glad I stayed with it.
  4. Long sleeve Ts are fascinating. I have a couple that fit everywhere perfectly. Better than 90% of any other type of shirt I own. Then there are others where the cuffs go past my fingertips with room to spare. Yet they barely go past my waist. Some mad scientist at work here.
  5. Yea, don't worry if people think you're being overly cautious. You gotta do you. I have family and friends who are just as cautious. We're all curious to see for your results now!
  6. No problem, I understand!
  7. I don't know where you got that from, I never said that. Or most of the next long paragraph, if you were referring to me at all there.
  8. Problem with that is most people who were/are infected don't even know it. Especially during the first couple months it was here. It's pretty simple, NY should have had a more strict lockdown, and sooner. Ditto for senior living facilities. Do both of those things and this situation would look much better. Silver lining in all this, I'm getting a haircut tomorrow.
  9. What happens if the hospital care providers catch COVID and all of them get hospitalized/sent home for 2 weeks? You are missing something -- what happens to those who have been exposed to a COVID patient? The person may be a carrier. Do we send them home, too? No, we send them to the bar.
  10. Yea, I drove past a few bars near me in Waukesha County last night, they were all still closed. I would bet most places weren't prepared to open this suddenly. Also, there's a lot of places that will wait until there's more clarity on all this.
  11. 100 percent agree. This is a complete trainwreck of governing. I am probably more on the cautious side of this debate but I get the arguments on re-opening. But this isn't how it should be done. No regulations of any kind is foolish. The states that have re-opened had plans in place. They kept occupancy down in restaurants and bars. Instead Wisconsin lets everything just restart. The Republicans asked for a 6 day stay that would have at least given some time. No idea why the supreme Court struck that down too Yea, they can still pass a bill tomorrow to extend it 6 days, we'll see if that happens. Not really the court's place to get involved in that part of it.
  12. That's why they took it to court, so they CAN passtheir own laws.
  13. For me, it depends on what treatment(s) are available by then. If they have effective treatments that are readily available, I will likely put off getting vaccinated. For how long, I do not know.
  14. Three counties - Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach. An area of 1,116 square miles. Milwaukee County is 248 square miles. To do it regionally, you'd need a buffer area around the hot zones. That means Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties would also likely need to stay in lockdown, along with Racine and Kenosha. Palm Beach is open. MKE's surrounding counties won't "need" to stay in lockdown. Here's what I think will happen. Supreme Court is telling Governor Evers and the legislature to figure something out, and go to phase 1 or they will be forced to make a ruling. They don't really want to be in the middle of it. We're already seeing the results. Metrics behind the criteria are subjective, and they're all magically turning green. I would expect phase 1 by Monday, and it will apply to the entire state. Mayor Barrett has said Milw will remain in lockdown, but by the time this goes through he may chane his mind on that.
  15. Why? That's exactly what FL is doing, what NY will do, etc. If WI is going to be segregated, leaving Milw County on an island is the most logical way of doing it. That's regional enough, the surrounding counties are doing just fine. Uhh ... no. No state is locking down one county in the state while allowing the rest to reopen. Florida, well two counties to be exact. But hey, throw in Racine and Kenosha and we have a deal.
  16. Why? That's exactly what FL is doing, what NY will do, etc. If WI is going to be segregated, leaving Milw County on an island is the most logical way of doing it. That's regional enough, the surrounding counties are doing just fine.
  17. I think everyone (including government officials) knows that. But holding back Milw County from phase 1 would still be effective. You still have the restaurants closed down, etc. and most residents don't have a cabin up north. Some will travel into surrounding counties too, but at least the exposure would still be reduced if Milw County is kept "locked down."
  18. I would guess that those fine folks who live in Milwaukee County would disagree. It would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to put one county in the state (the most populous one at that) under house arrest. Not really, FL is doing that and I would guess when NY starts opening they'll handle NYC differently than upstate. Mayor Barrett has eve said they will stay locked down even if WI goes to phase 1 soon. That doesn't mean people from Milwaukee won't travel outside the county, if that's what you're saying.
  19. A little too early to tell, but as most states have been gradually opening up, the numbers haven't spiked. In fact, many continue to improve. The GA governor for example, got a lot of heat for opening up and their hospitalizations have plummeted since opening. WI needs to start phase 1 immediately. We're more than half way there already. If Milw County is excluded for now, fine. Heck, most counties in WI could easily go right to phase 2.
  20. In tribute to him, in perfect Brewerfan.net IGT style: "What the hell did you trade Jay Buhner for?!?! He had 30 home runs, over 100 RBIs last year, he's got a rocket for an arm, you don't know what the hell you're doin'"
  21. Actually, that's precisely what most colleges have been doing for quite a while. Churning out people who don't think for themselves. They are taught to think and believe, not how to think for themselves. Proof is plain to see. 96% of "journalists" think a certain way. Vast majority of professors think the same way. Etc. That said, who wants to end higher education? Yes, colleges are job factories. Not many people want to spend $100,000 to be a philosopher with no job.
  22. No, there's more info behind the story. Only 3% used public transportation, and all of them were sheltering at home. I may have missed it, but I don't think Cuomo is misreading the data. It's more of a whoa didn't expect this, need to continue this type of research to learn more.
  23. Yea, all those things may be true. In one way it's good to focus on hospitalizations though. Yes, that sample will be older but that's useful since that's one of the main things we need to figure out- how to protect them. We don't know if they left their home at all, or if someone came into their home and infected them. That would be good data to have too.
  24. The story out of NY is interesting. For those not aware, they studied all new cases in one day, found that 2/3 of new cases were people who have been staying at home. Not sure what conclusions we can draw from that but it's interesting.
  25. I think we understand why "the goalposts have moved." What's puzzling is some still dent that they have. Everyone from Trump, Fauci, Redfield, governors, mayors, all of the media said the same thing. Flatten the curve so the hospitals aren't overrun with cases. Now that has changed. In fact, the time frame has changed too. 15 days is what they all said, goalposts moved on that as well. We can debate if it should have been changed, but it absolutely has changed. Hence, "moving the goalposts" is an accurate description. I don't think people realize how many things need to happen in WI under the Badger bounce back. It's far more than downward trend for 14 days in % of positive cases. It's far more than the 3 main items that they will be tracking. Again, people may or may not think the entire plan is logical, but it doesn't change the fact the goalposts have moved.
