  1. Sophia going on about CC calling a team meeting to do everything they can to avoid spreading Covid......while they show him in the dugout with no mask. That was priceless.
  2. Sprint merged with TMobile now, for whatever that's worth. I changed 3 phones in my family over to Sprint a couple years back, no problem with coverage. One family member is in NE Wisc, goes north from there quite often. Coverage was my big concern, so I kept asking everyone. Can get spotty between Wausau and Eau Claire, but I have that same issue with Verizon. Cheez, what you're saying about the lease is accurate. Either you need to get new phone after 2 years or pay it off. Otherwise, you'll continue to make the lease payments. But guess what? those lease payments do NOT decrease the buyout amount on the phone. So, let's say you lease Iphone 11 at $30/mo for two years. You can buy out the phone for idk, say $250, or enter new lease for Iphone 12 or whatever is out at the time. That's not bad. What IS bad? If you do nothing, you pay $30 every month and then you'll have to buy out your current phone for $250, the balance doesn't go down. So, essentially, if you do nothing for a year you will pay $360 for nothing and still have to pay $250 fr that phone before you can lease a new one. They are absolutely counting on you forgetting all about it.
  3. I didn't realize the Marlins were in ATL right before the season started. Reason for Marlins Covid outbreak WHOAA SOLVVD.
  4. I agree, except I would argue social distancing in baseball is all optics. During the game itself? Yes. But these guys are together far more hours every day than any other sport off the field.
  5. Spectrum is an option. I haven't looked into it yet, but after my YTTV increase I will be. Looks like there's actually 2 choices. "regular" cable at $40 for the 1st year. Which is fine, this seems like something that will need to be shopped at least once a year. BUT they also have their own streaming service now where I believe you can choose "x" number of channels- whatever channels you want. That sounds interesting, just haven't dug into the details yet.
  6. You want Freddy pitching a day game whenever possible
  7. It's why I don't go to Subway ever, even before Covid. I hate watching the sub technician stick their hands in all the buckets over and over again. They have gloves on great, which they never seem to clean or change. That's always grossed me out. So have buffets to be honest. Hey, it's no secret I'm a "get back to normal as soon as possible" guy. But at the very least, Covid or not food service should be more hygienic than it is. Try dining in western Waukesha county, it's like Covid doesn't even exist. You will rarely see any customer wear a mask, ever, and the employees are maybe 50/50. So yea, we get take-out a couple times a week and dine one once or twice a week but I won't patronize restaurants where I know the employees don't wear masks.
  8. No, you have it right. Sounds like even some of our own here may be the ones camping out in the passing lane.
  9. Yea, I know it well. That interchange is terrible!
  10. I've had the driver in front of me come to a complete stop before entering a roundabout with nary another car in sight. Happens to me several times a week. Also, it;s comical how many people put their right directional signal on. More funny than annoying.
  11. WI drivers aren't perfect either. No clue how to merge onto a freeway, what a passing lane is for, or how to drive through a round-about. (I'll give people a pass on the the round-abouts since they're relatively new.)
  12. I have no doubt that was true back then, wonder if they would have the same response now. Either way, yea, it's the law of deep pockets. An amateur baseball club isn't the same type of target as Disney or a municipality, school district, etc. Speaking of baseball, it's very similar to the extended netting debate. Forever it was considered a known risk to attend a game. Printed right on your ticket too. Yet the netting was added, they had to weigh the risk of lawsuits vs the inconvenience.
  13. Have you been on Twitter? That ship's sailed, lol. Exactly my point. Risk to insurance companies is very real.
  14. Absolutely the insurance risk is there. As an employee you can file a Workers Comp claim, depending on the state. If you are a business owner, you could be sued and file a General Liability claim. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is ins companies know they'll lose in court a good portion of the time no matter what, so they will try to settle any claims. The Disney example is a good one, actually. If someone contracts Covid, they can sue Disney and they will settle. Especially if you have photos of people without masks, not social distancing, etc. you can make the case they weren't proactively keeping the park safe. Teacher? Wouldn't have to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, just has to be credible enough to get a settlement.
  15. Don't most elementary schools still have gyms, and/or lunch rooms? Seems like they could distance relatively easily. That said, if they're distanced, that's almost worse than virtual learning depending on the grade.
  16. Remember, school isn't only built in daycare for whole lot of people, it's also where kids get two or even three of their meals every day. Depending on the district, that's going to be a monumental task. Just drive over and pick it up? Sure, but 3 times a day? What if mom doesn't have a car? And, sadly, what about the kids who have nobody responsible enough to pick up their meals?
  17. I think it would be completely insane NOT to send them back. The long term psychological and physical effects from children not socializing for many months up to several years are not known.
  18. What concerns me is all you hear about is nursing homes. Yet far more elderly people live in senior housing and assisted living facilities, where the rules seem to vary widely.
  19. First word is Pain
  20. Wait, you think we're doing the correct thing by having our case count the way it is compared with other countries? No. Things should be opened up even more than they are now. I don't care about comparisons to other countries. We do far more testing than most, I don't trust the numbers from a lot of other countries, and case count isn't that important to me. Death count is the only metric that really matters, and I believe that number is over-stated here. I've heard specific examples from doctors I know in CA an IL where deaths were written up as Covid. Some cases Covid was not the primary cause of death, other case they were never tested for Covid. I have no idea how rampant this is, but when your hospital is paisd for Covid deaths, you're going to have more Covid deaths.
  21. Yea, I think that's why some of us fro the beginning said we have to get back to normal as much as possible once we went through the initial flatten the curve. I've always had the feeling it would be around indefinitely. We can't lock down emotionally, medically, or economically for a year or two...or longer.
  22. I'll take the over. Once more players start publicly announcing they're not playing other will feel more comfortable making that decision. And the more players that opt not to play just add to the asterisk for whatever team wins this baseball tournament.
  23. Patriot. (Not 'The" Patriot, the Mel Gibson movie. ) Patriot could be my favorite TV series of all time, it's two seasons. Best way I can describe it it's a dark comedy. Not really the same as Fargo, but if you loved Fargo you'll probably love Patriot. It's unlike anything you've seen, in a good way. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm a big Fargo fan, so I figured I'd check out the first episode last night, ended up watching the first three. Definitely worth a watch if you like good, dark humor, quirky shows. Cool.
  24. Pretty simple, many more young people getting tested in some of these states. Positives go up, but death rates way down. Which is all that really matters. As far as when/ how states have opened there is no correlation between that and case spikes. Those states opened two months ago, and just recently saw AZ, TX, FL rise in cases. Why now? Why haven't all states experienced this trend? Because there is no correlation. No matter what states do, we will see hot spots pop up. That's not unexpected.
