  1. Perfection. Although they could use that name for the horrific smoking errrr dining area just outside of the restaurant.
  2. So, no more pizza shooters or extreme fajitas?
  3. I don't object to the idea of celebrations, I get more annoyed when they turn cliche and lame. Spontaneous, immediate Lambeau Leap? Still cool. Player walking over to the wall 2 minutes later and half jump? Stupid. Defense's new celebration is getting old already, especially dumb when they do it after a turnover that is reversed. I love instant emotion, celebration, etc. Pre-arranged slow developing group stuff is just not the same. Don't really care about any of it though, just saying.
  4. Packers may not be at their best in all facets, but who is? Cowboys looked complete after 3 games, then lost two. Rams are not amazing anymore. Etc. NFL is week to week, and so dependent on injuries. No team is consistently great in every area. Pats? Who knows. They get out of their lousy division this week and play the Skins, lol. Rodgers is clearly not in his prime. I think the WRs are better than we think, Rodgers is missing them more than in the past, or not even seeing them. But the passing game can improve. If they had a new coach, scheme, WRs, etc. 7 or 8 years ago Rodgers would have made it work in week 1. He can't do that anymore, it's going to take time.
  5. Yadier Molina could beat Josh Jackson in a foot race.
  6. Stearns dissapointed with how season ended, wants to improve the team next season. Oh, and expects the sun to rise in the east.
  7. Was there ever a mound visit during the already infamous Hader8th?
  8. It's ridiculous to suggest Shaw wanted to be traded or released so he could play full time. I think you're missing the obvious. Did he really think there was a twam out there saying "we need a .150 hitter who can give us 600 ABs!" I mean who in the world would give him a full time role?
  9. For sure, all of that. But you're avoiding the question, others are too. Would you ditch them if you knew for a fact they would never win the WS?
  10. Would feel better if Dallas wasn't coming off a loss as well, oh well. If they haven't fixed run fefense, Cowboys will run for 800 yards.
  11. Yes actually, the 2018 Brewers did it numerous times to all 3 of their "closers". You're still comparing apples to oranges here. Hader isn't an elite closer. He was a very good reliever in 2019 and an elite reliever in 2018, but he's never been an elite closer in the traditional sense. If you're comparing him to historical guys like Kimbrel, Rivera, etc, that just doesn't hold up. Even as a closer, Hader has never been a traditional one. He's consistently asked to protect for 2 innings, even more, depending on the situation. It doesn't have anything to do with believing in your star players or not, it has to do with your options. Hader, Jeffress, and Knebel were used late in games almost interchangeably last season in various orders depending on the game situation. Does that mean we didn't believe in them? Of course not. Was Hader just better and more trustworthy this year? No, definitely not. We simply had various high end options at our disposal to finish the job if we ran into trouble. Correct. Hader was not above being yanked. He was simply the best option. The struggling part is overblown a bit too. Robles was dancing around like a fool on pitches just off the inside corner. He k'd 2 batters with a bogus hbp in between. Then destroyed Zimmerman's bat. Yea, he was a little wild but amost always is, and almost always gets the job done. Even this year. As far as his future, sure only one pitch is an issue. But not the issue it was in the past now that you get the high strike. Swing and miss rate on his high fb is crazy, and gets a lot of swings out of the zone. All that said, I do prefer him in his 2018 role.
  12. Here's the problem I have. No matter what you would have done, CC wasn't stupid, or blew it, or anything of the sort. He made a very logical choice, one that most would have done. Some of you would have gone by "feel." Fine, but my experience hanging out in the IGTs tells me your feeling was wrong 96.9% of the time.
  13. Never would give Pom three innings, but somewhere on page 4 I said I would have used Hader for 2 or possibly 3 as the first man up, assuming Woodruff gave us a few. I would've gone Suter after that and play matchups as needed and left Pom for the 9th. He had shown far better control than Hader lately. Maybe they lose anyway but that would've been my plan. And that's the thing. Your plan may have won the game, or maybe they give up 8 runs. We'll never know. I mean, Hader couldn't get through 1 inning and you wanted to give him 2 or 3? So that plan would have fell apart in the 5th instead of the 8th. Less heart breaking maybe, but same result.
  14. So, now that the emotion in here has died down a bit I'll say this. I wouldn't have changed a thing. No way do I give Pom 3 innings when he just hasn't done that in his current role. No way I bring in Peralta or Lyles in the 8th when Hader was struggling. Would you feel confident? Peralta can be just as wild, and Lyles is not used to entering a game in that situation. You don't gamble. Hader had countless outings this year where he was wild and got the job done. He didn't this time, aided by a blown hbp call, broken bat blooper, and error. He's not "done." Just not dominant this year. Still, he was the best chance to get through the 8th. He, among others, need to go to change-up school this offseason.
  15. They do...Jordan Lyles, but it doesn't seem that CC wants to use him tonight. If you want Lyles in the 8th instead of Hader, you're the only one. Including Jordan Lyles.
  16. Hader in 8th/9th with Peralta ready just in case. In case of what? I don't know, would be tough to take Hader out.
  17. Agreed. And the plan of two innings for either Pom or Hader let alone both is really pushing it. Wonder if they will throw Peralta between the two lefties? Seems like they want to use Peralta to get out of an inning if needed. Sort of like the cliser of an inning.
