  1. I think it's a product of success. Brewers, Bucks, Badgers, and Packers. Add a few big concerts, etc., and people only have so much money and time. Yea, Thurs night helps though. Also, ever since they added the new seating, seems to ve more tixs floating around.
  2. Just own the 31 points comment, I mean it's a really small thing to wear. I get what you're saying though, it's not like shutting out the Chiefs or Cowboys is necessary to prove the defense is really good. Nobody is going to do that. In the NFL, I always judge a defense by turnovers, red zone defense, and closing out a game. I want to see if they can do those things against really good offenses. Don't get me wrong though, no doubt this defense is better than years past, we'll soon find out how much better.
  3. I read somewhere they still have a ton of money to spend, and are the overwhelming favorites to win the central next year. And they have a front office that runs things incredibly well. And that the deal for Trevor Bauer was a genius move. Hint: None of those things are true. Get out! The source of this is beyond reproach.

  5. I'm just stunned that a 30 year old journeymen, quad a catcher is not suddenly a superstar. Stunned I tell you. Brewers will have $2.7 zillion in profits next year, they can afford both.
  6. Guys who love hitting in Cincy>> Braun>>>
  7. Pack has absolutely no business losing this game, even if they don't bring their "A game "on either side of the ball. As a fan, it's rational for that to scare me.
  8. I mean if we're expecting this defense to shut down Patrick Mahomes that is just not going to happen. Best we can hope is to slow them down and hope the offense is clicking enough by that point to win a 34-31 type game, which I do think is possible. But it's still clearly massively improved. While we haven't faced a top 3 offense, we haven't been feasting on the Dolphins or Jets, either. Neither the Broncos or even Bears have a "bad" offense IMO, and I'd go as far as to say the Vikings look awfully dangerous offensively. Cook is probably one of the top RBs in the league and they have really good weapons at WR in Diggs and Thielen. That's my point. If winning in a shoot-out is the only way they can beat a team like the Chiefs, Pats, Rams, Cowboys, etc. then the defense is no different than any other year. If the best you can hope for is holding any team to 31 points, that' not very impressive.
  9. That's the way I see it too. Just something that came up in conversation at work today, that I thought would be interesting to discuss here. Now, if that game 162 was to tie the Cards for the division, makes it a tougher decision.
  10. Game 162. Brewers need to win to lock-up HF for the WC game. If game 162 is close, do you use any/all of Suter, Pomeranz, and Hader if they wouldn't be available then for the WC game?
  11. The mlb network, the channel, is included. Mlb tv is not, i think thats extra no matter what service you would use.
  12. Did anyone pick Thames for Most Surprising Player? THAT should get major props.
  13. After these 3 games two things are clear. 1)This is a playoff team again. 2) The defense is definitely improved. But, to be fair, we don't know how much better yet. I see lots of people saying we can't judge the offense because they faces 3 really good defensive units. That's true. But isn't the same true for the Packers defense? They haven't exactly played 3 explosive offenses. We just don't know yet if this is a team that can make the SB and beat the Patriots. Dallas will be the first big test.
  14. Brewers essentially 5 games up on the Cubs, that escalated quickly.
  15. Not really. They still could have as many as 16 pitchers, more likely 15. That's still 10 in the pen. Do they use 10 now? No. The reason the pen is so much better at the end of the season are acquisitions and one or two guys promoted.
  16. For me, 90% of KR/PR is just don't turn it over. If they went the entire season with no muffs/fumbles on returns, I would consider that a win. Yea, having an explosive guy would be great, but more of a luxury.
  17. Coach Cooper always said "you can't win em all." He also said drinking beer isn't really drinking, so I don't know what to believe.
  18. They're not booing. They're saying puuuuuunnnk
  19. wild card game is a 25-man roster. game 163 and anything beyond prior to the wild card game or nlds is a 40-man roster. Correct.
  20. I think we can handle it under one thread? NLDS/NLCS would be the same projection. Could change later due to injury/ineffectiveness, but I would think we all know that. (Also, WC game doesn't matter as much because they'll have everyone they could possibly need and then some.)
  21. Right. Should have said that at the top, this list is for NLDS/NLCS. Maybe they do go 13 position players/ 12 pitchers. If they do that, I guess it's Perez. But what does he really give you? I can see a scenario where you use a lot of pitchers and say "man I wish we had Black." Emergency PH appearance? I would almost rather take a flyer with Nottingham, at least he can make ball go far. No way they do that, just sayin'. Yea, I could also see Davies over Albers. Would prefer it actually, just an unknown how he would do coming out of the pen.
  22. Since I don't believe in jinxes, figured it was about time to give this a stab. (If it makes people feel better, this is early prediction IF they make the playoffs.) Position players (12) Grandal Thames Hiura Arcia Moose Braun Cain Clark Pina Gamel Spangenberg Austin Perez, Shaw don't make the cut. Pitchers (13) Woodruff Lyles Hauser Hader Pomeranz Suter Guerra Peralta Claudio Jackson Black Albers Gonzalez Davies, Anderson don't make the cut. Tough call, but that's how I see it today. I think Woody/Lyles are locks for the rotation, Houser will have the 3rd spot if he finishes season strong. That leaves Gio for the "utility" pitcher. He can spot start, come in early if someone is getting shelled, used a loogy, etc. Albers was a tough choice too, I just think he'll make it. Davies/Anderson have no experience pitching out of the pen, and I think Brewers will look at it as post-season is no time to find out. Especially with the way the team is built, they'll want a bunch of pen arms that are a comfortable with.
  23. Don't forget about Suter either. He's not mentioned, I'm guessing, because he doesn't throw 100 mph. But he has been lights out. I see it this way. They have Hader, Pomeranz, Suter. If Guerra and Peralta are dialed in, they really have equaled their pen of 2018. Plus Claudio,Black, and Jackson are three guys I don't feel panic when they come into the game. Interesting that Anderson and/or Davies may not make post-season roster again. They may very well go with Woodruff/Lyles/Houser in the rotation, and keep Gonzalez around for the "utility" pitcher. (Emergency start or early relief, even loogy.) That leaves one more spot for a pitcher, and like it or not that's probably Albers. Anderson/Davies may very well be on the outside looking in. Houser will determine that with his last 2-3 starts of the season.
  24. Always makes my soul smile to see someone on the internet admit they were wrong. Better yet, you didn't qualify it in any way, bonus points!
