  1. I get what you're saying, but voters won't look at it that way. They will say "he missed the last month of the season" so he didn't eve play a complete season. Bellinger gets it, since his numbers are similar and played the entire season. In fact, he'll now win in an overwhelming margin unless he really tanks at the end of the year.
  2. Hard to take a lot from the Falcons game, they clearly weren't ready to play. First play of the game, Barr rushes from the edge unblocked. Blocked punt, turnovers, just ugly. So they're down 14-0, eventually 28-0, and it's just a completely different type of football game. I do believe their defense is for real, but have no idea what their offense can do.
  3. He's just wondering aloud, not predicting. Nothing wrong with that. Saying it will take historical miracle to make the playoffs is just as outlandish.
  4. They may be a game out after tonight, that's not in the universe of a historical miracle.
  5. If they go into this situation thinking that they can, they already lost. Other guys, namely Braun, Grisham and Gamel, and maybe even Taylor, need to step up. Moose needs to get back in the lineup tomorrow and hit. Hiura needs to come back soon and hit. And yes, they are going to need a positive contribution out of Shaw at some point. No, once Moose is back tomorrow we shouldn't be seeing Shaw the rest of the season.
  6. POST DELETED FOR VIOLATING BOARD RULES REGARDING CURSING
  7. Meh, season isnt jinxed. Now if guys start getting hurt by suitcases, shower caddys, and salad tongs.....
  8. Can we move on? None of this stuff about Selig, Miller Park, or financial statements that none of us have ever seen? It's all off topic. Quite honestly, this whole thread feels borderline like trolling with this subject line.
  9. Burnes still has some shine from being one of the 7 TOR starters earlier this year...or earlier today....I dunno hard to keep track.
  10. Burnes still has some shine from being one of the 7 TOR starters earlier this year...or earlier tody....I dunno hard to keep track.
  11. Because for a couple days Perez and Spangenberg are better options than Nate Orf.
  12. This is why CC didn't have a quick hook with Peralta. Still 4 innings to cover at that point, with a stream of mediocre/ inconsistent arms. You may think he stuck with Peralta for one batter too long, fine. But he's stupid...crazy....???? Really? So glad he's managing instead of reactionary (and almost always wrong) fans.
  13. Freitas looks like he ate Arcia and then stole his swing.
  14. I've been playing also, but I also take a drink every time he says bawclub.
  15. I agree, he really ruined the Celtics.
  16. I don't read it that way, but fair enough. He mentioned Moose, Saladino, etc. not being available, how about Orf? Question wasn't who to bring up from the minors, sounds like who can play ss with Arcia out. Just sayin'.
  17. Honestly, the only options really are Orf, Jake Hager, or stealing someone like Hinojosa or Aviles from the AA team. or ... Craig Counsell, player-manager! Options are Perez and worst case scenario Spangenberg. Not Orf or any of those other guys.
  18. Lazy thinking. 5 run lead, used him as a mop up guy. Brought Hader in at exactly the right time.
  19. I’ve respected your opinion with regards to the pitching this year more than most. I’d love to hear your take on the crew’s present bullpen. My opinion is the same as Roco and Joey's. Its your whole premise of good and bad that's flawed. Especially when it changes almost daily. Right now they have no "bad" relievers. Question is who gets the late innings down the stretch. Right now its Poneranz and Guerra most often, maybe Suter and Peralta next week. Everyone neefs ro keep in mind CC is not an idiot if he chooses one guy over another on a given night. All these guys are inconsistent, so there is no right or wrong, good or bad. They don't have the Jeffress, Hader, Knebel, good night combo so it's mix and match, feel, hot hand. What IS really important is having a quick hook down the stretch. So many arms, if someone doesnt have it, get him out of there immediately. Like he did last night btw.
  20. Update after last night>>> Pomeranz>>> Horrible, dfa Peralta>>> Hall of Fame potential
  21. Brilliant. We could also save time by assigning small letters to the same people who make the points above.
  22. Last time the Packers won a game with their defense?
