  1. If it's not Scott Boras, it's someone else. It was bound to happen regardless. Blame the system that allowed Scott Boras to act the way he does. Don't hate the playa., hate the game.
  2. Via MLBTR..... Joel Sherman of the New York Post is "hearing from multiple sources that the Yankees will have nothing to do with Ben Sheets" given his health concerns. They don't want another health risk in the rotation after signing A.J. Burnett. Aside from cautious interest from the Rangers, it's been quiet on the Sheets front. I've always hated the idea of sheets going to the pin stripes. If this is true, this is great news as we will most likely get a better draft choice (Texas will still not provide a 1st rounder though, but it's better than a 3rd if he went to NY)
  3. Davego. #444, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't continue to progress or at least stay the same. They are young enough to indicate that they have all the promise in the world to succeed more so than what they've already shown.. Cameron is a key cog to the defense and a key to the club house as well. All we need is 1 o2 more left handed bats and the Cameron K effect will be hardly focused on because of the amount of offensive output he does present. Good move by DM in not dealing him.
  4. It's up to you now Dougie. Make it happen!!!!
  5. For intellegent sports talk, 540 has the edge by far(The D list offers the most intriguing/informative insights), but for entertainment value...I gotta stick with my boys over at 1250. Doug Russell is always right and doesn't allow his callers a chance to speak. Wickett actually owns that show and it should be called the Wickett Show. I'll listen to local sports talk all day long cuz I can get my national news on ESPN. I'm actually a fan of Sparky. He says some stupid stuff from time to time, but he also stands on a ledge and has some good morals. Gary cracks me up. He brings no evidence for his arguments, but he does bring some ideas to the table to discuss. His singing cracks me up!!!! If there is anyone on here from 1250 or 540, I would like to offer an idea... I would like to guarentee that if you did a daily (M-F) 2 hour MLB show with a huge emphasis on the Brewers and the NL central, you would have a huge listenership. With the hot stove league, you can talk baseball all year long....just look at some of the topics on this website. That's my Christmas wish.

  7. Well, Putz and KRod definitely help out that weak BP. I'm pretty sure I'd want those two over Julio and Coffey. My faith in DM is still ever present, but I'm getting quite ill with his continued belief that we can rely on the left overs. Go get Fuentes or make a deal for Jenks.
  8. 3 years 30 million is reasonable for Fuentes who is a better option for a closer than Gagne who was making the same amount of money last year for the Crew. Fuentes > Gagne. To get a quality closer these days for 10 million or less is a good option. Get Fuentes. Trade for a Starter, who knows but I think we'll be seeing a deal with Seattle before the end of the offseason. and get another left handed bat. Trade Hart + to get the Pitcher and then go out and purchase Abreu. I would be satisfied with that offseason.
  9. Per mlbtraderumors.com 2:25pm: The saga continues...Kevin Towers does not think this deal lost steam in the last 24 hours, according to Yahoo's Tim Brown and Gordon Edes. However, they say the Cubs are having second thoughts about this four-team mess. The Cubs source says the price is too steep for them right now and they're looking at another short-term option for the rotation (Randy Johnson maybe). I really hope this is true as we all obviously dred the Cubs getting Peavy.
  10. Obtaining a pitcher with Isringhausen's potential for a bargain rate wouldn't be a bad idea. This has all the signs of a repeat Lidge effect. Also given the fact that he knows the Cardinal's hitters doesn't hurt. Same argument goes with the Card's hitters knowing Izzy... Without providing accurate stats, I would feel more comfortable having Izzy out there on the mound than Gagne. With all that said...if we can get Looper for close to 5 million per, I'd be crossing one thing off my X-mas list.

  12. For some reason, I don't have a good feeling that we're going to win 8 in a row right about now. That's just me.....

  14. Please don't Boo... please please please please. Not going to happen though, cuz we're going to go 3 for 3 in Cincy, and come back .5 up in the Wild Card.
  15. I don't want him. Let him go somewhere else. It's fine with it and I wish him the best. Someone said earlier that he's like Brett Favre...I agree. I just want him out. I done. We can better spend his money towards a new dominant closer or 3B. See ya Sheets. Thanks for all good times. But please go to the AL so we don't have to face ya. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  16. Seriously...quit it Brian Anderson. It's like listening to Harry Carey
  17. Only the 1st...lets go! Lets get it back.
  18. Can someone please tell Brian Anderson to stop kissing the Cubs bottoms? PLEASE!
  19. #46 has the best post in this thread so far. Let's go Braun! Let's go Fielder! Let's go Hart! We need you now more than ever! We can still do this....Especially if NY Mets continue to struggle. I personally like how he has Hart protecting Hardy. We gotta win tonight with CC! Come on CC!
  20. Tolivebrew #17 said... "Don Mattingly has zero managerial experience... not sure why his name pops up" Thank You!!!! If we hire anyone who does not have major league playoff baseball coaching experience, I don't want him. Go get us a winner. Showalter has been the AL manager of the year twice but has never won the WS.... I'd be ok with Showalter, but again, I would rather have a WS winning manager take the helm.
  21. #53 Hilarious http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Oh happy day! Seriously...after Ned's comments to the media post Fielder vs Parra, I was offically a Yost hater....How arrogant!!!!! No more of his press conferences. No more of his poor BP management decisions. Hopefully we have more of a small ball plate appearance WHEN NEEDED of course. Oh happy day! I like the timing. At least there's a possibility that our players WAKE UP and are jolted to the point that we go 9 and 3. If we waited till the end of the year, THAT would have been too late. Thank you Mark A. Oh happy day! Lets get CC as many spots in the rotation possible now and make a serious run for this in the last two weeks! (edit: cut out excessive punctuation and quadruplicate emoticons --1992)
