  1. unless he's making obvious bonehead moves like killing his pitchers or sac bunting early in the game, which I don't see RR doing. He is having or at the very least letting players sac bunt early in games. Often the second hitter in the game. Kotsay in CF is a pretty obvious bonehead move in my opinion.
  2. I was thinking almost the exact same thing as I was reading that. Errors are 100% useless for outfielders. You can't even get an error by dropping the ball. I am not sure why they even keep the stat for outfielders. Braun dived for a ball and missed it by 3 feet. No error. That was an absolute bad play. He isn't as bad as just that play but he is a bad fielder. If he was less athletic he would be heading for DH territory.
  3. Here is a breakdown of SS.
  4. Dante Bichette
  5. Everything from the Kotsay signing forward is baffling.
  6. Maybe a bad call but not as bad as the call to walk the bases loaded.
  7. I never go to the home page.
  8. RRR's track record thus far doesn't exactly instill confidence that there is a higher logic to some of his moves. Exactly. His moves thus far are suspect. He hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt.
  9. Hart is sick, Gomez is probably the best #2 guy in that lineup and Lucroy does have to sit sometimes as a C. There is nothing wrong with today's lineup. Yup, and I posted that we should wait and see in the in game forum. It doesn't excuse the poor choices he has made so far with his lineups. Kotsay in CF is borderline criminal.
  10. They are terrible in previous years and this year will not really give you much more than random numbers.
  11. Dread Pirate Roenicke. I find myself saying inconceivable a lot.
  12. Lucroy has the third best wOBA amongst catchers with at least 100 PA.
  13. My main complaint about RRR is that he doesn't seem to grasp the value of offense and defense. However, as noted above, more recent linuep cards seem to be more reasonable. I beg to differ. Kotsay in CF for 4 games in one week makes no sense. Today's lineup, Morgan against a lefty instead of Hart, Lucroy out, and Gomez #2. Inconceivable. DPR strikes again.
  14. The problem then becomes enforcement. How well is that box between home and 1B enforced?
  15. He can at least match Betancourt's defense and Betancourt isn't a terrible hitter against LHP but he is flat out atrocious against RHP. Limiting Betancourt's time in the field and PA against RHP would be a good idea. Betancourt platooned wouldn't be as damaging as Betancourt full time. It may even make him a positive player.
  16. He is to old. Can't handle that many games. Twice a week would be advisable though.
  17. Yup, find a decent SS option and I like the whole lineup.
  18. I am not so sure about the Sam Adams Latitude 48. I like the idea but they all taste the sameish. Pine resiny notes in each hop. I am not sure if it is the malt background as much as the hops are not as distinctly different from each other as you would like. Maybe that was their intention though. There are difference but pretty minor ones. I did pick up the Fixed Gear but didn't get to it yet and my wife picked up some D-Man for me. Of course she already drank one of them. I think I might do something like this on my own with a basic pale ale background. Amarillo, Simcoe, Hersbrucker, Fuggles, and Pearle(casue I got some and nothing to do with them).
  19. You kid of expect birds to come plying out of it. Now we probably get to see Kotsay.
  20. I wonder how Bill feels about contact with catchers?
  21. Wow, I think Fielder was still at 3B when the catcher got the ball. Ok that is hyperbole but wow. Not. Even. Close.
