  1. Of course we have. Counsell and Kotsay haven't played yet.
  2. Sure about that?Yes, absolutely. I am not results oriented. You never walk the bases loaded. Even the best hitters get themselves out around 60% of the time. Even the best hitters only have a 1 in 10 chance of hitting a HR. Most closer to 1 in 20.
  3. Good thing he pulled Loe just in time, oh wait, he didn't.
  4. "And the Brewers don't like to use the intentional walk to much." That's a good thing Bill. You can shut it any time now.
  5. Sooo glad I stuck with Weeks as my favorite player. He is ok.
  6. A bloop and a blast. Yeah that would be great but Kotsay was on deck.
  7. 1) Kottaras for Nieves. 2) Green for one of Betancourt, Wilson or Counsell. Green platoons with McGehee. 3) Boggs for Kotsay. Kotsay has zero power. He is hitting for less power than Jason "noodle bat" Kendall did for us while he was here. In addition he cannot play defense at an acceptable level. Worst of all is the fact that for some reason our manager continues to give him starts. Just getting somebody in there who wouldn't take starts away from Hart would help the team. The best results happen when Kotsay doesn't swing. Nobody is asking for or expecting great players on the bench. We just want some moves to be made to improve the roster. We don't need anybody special but there are a couple moves that would improve our bench. No trades needed. Guys already under our control.
  8. He went a long way to get it. I wish he had not jumped into the wall for it though. It didn't look like he needed to.
  9. UZR doesn't take 1b scoops into account, something Prince is terrible at.Prince is brutal at scooping bad throws out of the dirt and he's short, so some high throws that pull him of the bag would simply be caught easily by a taller firstbaseman. He's obviously a fabulous hitter and his great offense trumps his many defensive shortcomings, but for anyone to think Prince is even close to being league average defensively, they'd have to be someone who ignores the stats and just started watching baseball a few days ago. or just likes to be contrary for the sake of being contrary.
  10. By what measure?
  11. The problem in my opinion is that we have had opportunities to pick up some good bench players or at the very least improve our bench and have not done so. Heck we could probably go down to AAA and bring up 2-3 players who would make our bench better than our current players. That is more frustrating than anything else.
  12. TH is usually very good at answering E-mail. I have sent him things a few times and he always replied quickly and courteously.
  13. Watch the video. You didn't see him high stepping home. I don't think anybody really has a problem with the celebrating if Pujols could keep his mouth shut about other players celebrating.
  14. That's actually the same system the NBA has.You can draft an NBA player then they can go to college and you get them when they leave college?
  15. A lot of homebrew supplies don't have sales tax on them either. Of course they could technically be considered groceries. Grains, Yeast and hops.
  16. Slotted money on picks. Not suggested slotted value, hard slotting. Maybe a hockey style draft where your picks can go to play college but remain your property. Sort of leaning towards no on that one but thought I would throw it out there.
  17. Look at Braun's May and June of 2010. Players have bad stretches. Nothing any player has done this year should have much impact on your opinion of them going forward. Nothing McGehee has done this year has changed my opinion of him. I wasn't a big fan before the season started. Look up the "Left Handed sticks" thread. I don't think he is as bad as he has performed this year either. I don't think bringing up Green to platoon with McGehee would be a bad idea. I don't think McGehee is good enough not to be in a platoon though.
  18. To see through possibly? I don't know.
  19. Can you really say he "over produced" for two years? We only have minor league numbers to look at before that. I feel like it's pretty bold to do that compared to two years of major league numbers. The MiLB numbers compared to the MLB numbers are a good indicator that McGehee was outperforming his talent for one and a half years.(2009-2010) This year is doing nothing to dispel that notion.
  20. Well, nothing has really changed since they made the decision in the first place, Kottaras is still an obviously and significantly better player...I can only imagine whatever illogical reasoning they used in the original decision must still exist too. We don't have to imagine.(originally linked by TLB)
  21. Wow, that is what it takes to get Melvin talk about him. I wonder what it will take to actually get Melvin to make a move.
