    Unfortunately this logic cannot be applied to keeping Nieves.That logic seems to be applied to keeping Counsell, Wilson and Kotsay by management and some posters.

    Depends on the handedness of the pitcher. Hart should be at #2 against LHP.

    I don't disagree with DFAing Nieves but I do think we need a backup catcher.

    No, a thousand times no. It almost never pays to IBB either Fielder or Braun.

    Pujols will be in despite his bad year. Votto was the MVP last year and will also probably get in. I don't see Fielder getting in ahead of either of those 2 and I am not sure they will have 3 1B.

    Nobody owned up to giving him that high of a mark.

    I gave him a 2 because while I don't think he is the worst defensive 1B in baseball, I think he is the next thing to it.

    So which is it? We can replace Hart or we can't? I like Hart a lot but he is completely replaceable. Therefore I don't see why anybody would trade anything of value for him. I never wanted to extend him. It's all there in the Hart extension thread, you can look it up. If he was an average or good defender I would feel differently.

    We could just trade Hart then sign some guys cheaper. If that is the case why would anybody trade a player for Hart and take on his contract when they could just sign a platoon that could match or better his production and bring average or better defense?

    I think a lot of the plans are really short term. Sure winning the World Series will boost attendance and revenues, but not for the 7+ years that Fielder is asking for. Getting rid of current players like Hart and Wolf also is a short term fix.

    Spotted Cow is always a hit with the macro crowd in my experience. That is if you are in Wisconsin.

    I would like to warm up to his lineups. Every time I start to warm up to his lineups he starts Kotsay.

    He isn't. We know this. We have known this even before the season started. He swings at everything. A friend of mine said YunE-6 made up his mind to swing before the pitch was thrown. I don't think he was far off.

    He'd have to be crazy to be that good Morgan has to much money to be considered crazy. He is eccentric.

    You never ever intentionally walk the bases loaded. Especially in a tied or one run game. That forces your pitcher to throw strikes or walk in the winning /tying run. If you don't like the match-up, switch pitchers. No IBB. Terrible strategy. Just because a guy hit a HR doesn't make walking him a better decision. Putting a guy on base because you are afraid of something that has a 5% chance of happening is really really bad strategy.
