  1. Fielder was renewed. If I was a player I would let the team just renew me also. I don't think being renewed is a big deal. You have no say either way. I would go year to year with McGehee at least one more year. I might do a 3 year deal with him after the season. We control him through his prime years either way.
  2. If you want to pose it as a hypothetical question assuming we were not contending this year there might be something to discuss.
  3. I am sure it is in the Marcum/Lawrie trade thread somewhere. I think they planned to move Lawrie to 3B as soon as he was traded.
  4. The worst part about your computer crashing and buying a new one is trying to reacquire all your bookmarks.
  5. The only real issue with Weeks is injury. He has been productive his whole career. Even his not so good years hitting are pretty good. The other knock on him used to be his defense but it appears he has improved to at least average there.
  6. You always hear talk about exploiting market inefficiencies. $10-12m for elite talent seems like a market inefficiency to me.
  7. Gallardo probably got bumped because they had to get a Greinke bobble before he gets traded.
  8. Looking at Weeks' career stats, I think there is a good chance he can match or exceed what he did in 2010. career .253/.355/.429/.784 2010 .269/.366/.464/.830
  9. Hopefully the Axford bobble day doesn't mimic the Turnbow bobble day. Will the Axford bobble have real hair.
  10. I saw that Groupon a day to late or I would have bought one. I remember they had a bad review in Madison Beer Review last year in January. That was when they first opened up and before they had their own beer. There were only a couple things I didn't like. They didn't list that growlers were available or how much and they also didn't list availability of sampler glasses. No mention of them at all.
  11. I stopped at Vintage Brewing Company in Madison recently. They had a decent selection of in house brews. Several Belgian styles, a couple stout/porters, an IPA and a few others. I had the dubbel and thought it was really good. Probably headed back there again pretty soon to try a few more.
  12. Not one single bobble I would be interested in.
  13. I would have put the kabobs 4th of the entries. It is basically a gussied up sausage sampler.
  14. The neighbors and I always play cricket at halftime. Sometimes into the second half if we don't care about the game. Honestly since Tom Petty got blasted a couple years back I don't think anybody would be an acceptable halftime show.
  15. If you can look past BA and strikeouts you realize that Weeks is a very very good hitter.
  16. As well known as the national anthem is why wouldn't everybody lip sync?
  17. Batting average man. He would still have been an upgrade over Betancourt.
  18. Just try to think about something else like there's no sink in there.
  19. I liked Archer last night.
  20. Generally speaking we shouldn't be putting guys out to pinch hit with a platoon disadvantage.
  21. Gumballhead. Awesome. I just ordered Amarillo hops to add to the basic Cascade ale recipe I recently brewed. I may use them for an American wheat instead.
  22. I'll be firing up the grill tomorrow night, so life is good. Ehh, I grilled during the blizzard in December. I have grilled at least 3 times since then. We grill brats every year for the Super Bowl.
  23. He always was.
  24. The guys relegated to pinch hitting roles are pretty much all going to be end of the line guys who aren't good enough to play everyday so there just isn't going to be some .300/.350/.400 guy over his last 1000 AB's willing to take that role, they end up playing everyday or in the AL where then can DH. I don't expect much from a bench guy but we already had 2-3 guys who could reasonably match that production and play defense. He is redundant at best with a good chance he is a step back. Add in that he is getting paid more than Punto got from the Cardinals and Punto would have actually been an upgrade to our roster and this move just sickens me.
