  1. Yuni was the dog turd you had to eat to win $1m.
  2. Honestly might be something every minor leaguer should do but doesn't. Especially the ones that play winterball.
  3. They are not keeping him just because they are paying him. They are keeping him around because they may be able to get something for him if he pitches better this year. It makes no sense at all to let the young guys pitch and burn service time in a rebuilding season just to win a handful more games. I know some people want to see the Brewers try to win as many games as possible but that's not happening.
  4. Maybe, maybe not. It might allow some of the smaller markets to hold onto a player or two that they wouldn't be able to because of money. I really don't have much issue with the current salary structure if they are not going to do anything with the revenue sharing. The minor league wages should really be addressed though. The wages those guys are paid is terrible. They should at least be paid enough so they can eat properly. Yes smaller market teams will be able to keep some players they otherwise wouldn't, but with greater revenue sharing, the rich teams won't have as deep pockets. This means those really big, really long contracts will likely be a thing of the past. Dead money when a team has a bad contract will really hurt. With greater sharing, Price might still get $30M per year, but not for 7 years. The smaller teams would be able to hand out the big contracts to a player or two instead of the big teams handing them out to 4-5 they would only be able to hand them out to 2-3.

  6. You need the money going to the draft picks so they don't just go to college or back to college.
  7. Are they? I thought some teams had a pay scale for guys in their second and third years. Lat I remembered the Brewers did.
  8. Not sure how below minimum wage is fair.
  9. I kind of agree but those players are paid next to nothing until they are on the 40-man roster or have some time in the majors. I would like to see the players get paid more earlier on but if the system wasn't set up the way it is teams like the Brewers would not be able to keep any players at all. Fielder refused to sign at least once. I really don't think it is a big deal.
  10. http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/02/largely-undetected-mac-malware-suggests-disgraced-hackingteam-has-returned/
  11. That's not how a computer virus works.
  12. Speak for yourself. Not everyone shares your woe is me attitude. I think this is the best time to be a fan in the last 3 years.
  13. It is possible to likely that Nottingham will begin next season in AA. and if they don't, it doesn't really matter.
  14. Actually I think that is exactly what it means. I respect your opinion but I think you are wrong. Teams play above or below their talent every year. W/L record does not tell how much talent you have. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Brewers win more games in 2016. I don't think they are a better or more talented team though just that in 2015 the Brewers underplayed their talent.
  15. Just because a team only won 68 games does not in any way mean they had 68 win talent.
  16. It isn't about saving money or being bad to get picks, so a salary floor and random draft would do absolutely nothing. Those two things are just a side effect of trading away MLB players to get prospects. The goal for every single team is to get enough talent together at one time to win the World Series. There are only a finite number of ways to acquire and keep good players, and when one of those avenues is completely out of the question for the majority of the league you are going to get teams that have to trade away good players to amass talent. Teams like the Brewers do not do this by choice. They are going to be bad by necessity.
  17. Nice hyperbole there. No one, literally no one, is saying that. At best they are saying Santana could possibly match Davis at the plate while playing much better defense.
  18. Heck no. Just means they have a good start. We need to accumulate as much talent as we can while we are not going to be competitive. Every player that will not be with us after 2017 should be moved for the best players we can get.
  19. True, but if your MLB team isn't good you can get an infusion of young talent to use a a good building block. After that you maintain it. We didn't do well maintaining our talent and part of that was trading away young players for MLB players. To be successful you have to not trade away those young guys very often and you have to do a really good job identifying talent. We did neither.
  20. Gomez was only with us half a year and really didn't play all that well while he was. Segura was also not very good. Their production could be matched or exceeded this year with the players we have.
  21. If by suck you mean awesome, then I completely agree. Nope I mean it's a piece of crap.
  22. Sure he is on the big club, but it isn't a binary situation. Starting pitching in the majors us related and will affect pitching in the minors.
