  1. Probably not going to happen. Looks like he is signing with the Padres. Link
  2. I'm playing through as the bad guy this time so I'm curious what happens, but in the end the main story elements will stay the same as you still need to end the blight I would think. The main story stays pretty much the same. You can lose companions if you are a real jerk to them or make certain decisions. There are enough choices for companions that you can work around that though. My mage was Arcane Warrior/Spirit healer although I really didn't use Arcane Warrior for much other than the ability to wear real armor without penalty. Strength 15 Dexterity 15 +2 Willpower 33 +2 Magic 67 +2 Cunning 17 Constitution 16 +10 My Rogue was assassin/??. I think I whould have put more points into cunning and less into dexterity. Strength 28 +6 Dexterity 56 +17 Willpower 16 +6 Magic 12 +6 Cunning 37 +11 Constitution 13 +18 I didn't get the full effect I could out of my characters from their specialties, but I really didn't have to. Looks like they are releasing a sequel to The Force Unleashed.
  3. I wouldn't mind Solome or Lucroy being brought up sometime in June as long as they got almost a 50/50 split with playing time.
  4. You want your 5th best hitter 3rd since that spot comes up the most often with 2 outs and nobody on base. Moving fielder or Braun up to 2nd would be a great idea. To bad nobody thought of that before...
  5. I noticed that right away. Made me laugh. He even thanked Bosio.
  6. Holy crap Mass Effect 2 has quite a nice list of voice talent. Link
  7. It really does seem like a situation out of a soap opera I guess.
  8. Betrayed? Really? That seems a bit dramatic.
  9. I have this look at starting pitching from all NL teams in 2009. Cells X230-AH230 show the averages for each spot in the rotation based on 32 starts per spot. X230-AB230 being average innings per start and AD230-AH230 being average ERA per spot in the rotation. It is also a complete list of each guy who got a start on every NL team.
  10. Below average compared to all starters, but how would it compare to other starting rotations? I'd be fairly surprised if a majority of teams actually had a sub 4.6 ERA from their rotations. But certainly possible, I guess. 4.6 would be about 18th in MLB and about 12th in the NL. Better, not good.
  11. I wouldn't worry about Riske this year. He will probably miss most of the season.
  12. I did use the armies, just not much. I played on the 360 not PC so it may have been easier. It was my first play through. Mages do TONS of damage. A lot of the time I would drop one of the mage's large AoE spells(Blizzard, Inferno, Tempest) where the enemies would come through. That would weaken them enough that a hit or two would kill them off. If I got swarmed by a large group I could use Cone of Cold to freeze them all and get some space. The only real use I had for the armies was when I was fighting the archdemon and just outside the Fort Drakon where, I can't remember exactly what was there but I think it was mages and archers. After I got the demon down halfway, I called an army to keep the minions off my back so I could focus on the archdemon. Things were not tough as long as the enemies would come to me. I had Leliana along to open chests and do some chip damage, Wynn to heal the part members and Allistar to keep enemies off me. I put Allistar in the Dragon Scale armor(complete set gives something like 75% resistance to fire) so I could drop the Inferno spell without hurting him much. Mages do crazy damage. edit: I should add that I used Fireball if a large group was charging. Knocks everybody in the area down and does a good amount of damage. I put almost all my points into Magic and only enough into the others like cunning so I could get skills and such. Honestly 2-3 hits and my mage was going down. If my mage got frozen or stunned, it was all over but the reloading.
  13. I'll go back and edit. I meant Suppan dropping off in 2011 and Fielder in 2012. I wonder if he got dinner at Mark Attanasio's house as well. I really hope not. The parallels are getting scary. Link
  14. You can lose party members or towns I guess that would be major. Other than Wynn, most of the party members are interchangeable. Wynn can even be replaced if you plan with Morrigan early enough. There really isn't a need to return to towns except for side quests so wiping out a whole town doesn't hurt much. I found the armies you can call to help of minimal value in the final few stages. I have not played as an elf or dwarf yet so maybe people have different reactions to those races. Maybe it has some effect at the Landsmeet. I will see as I wiped out the forest village. Right now the only consequence seem to be one of my team being a little upset(which means little as ally you have to do is buy them something nice) and I no longer have an easy source of elfroot.
  15. Didn't the Astros trade for Wolf a couple years back at the deadline? Houston has been giving away their top MLB talent at the deadline for years. Probably still trying to contend while Lee is on the roster.
  16. No, I am not making that assumption. I would assume Fielder leaves after 2012. Fielder probably eats up(not literally I hope) a good chunk of that money coming off from Riske and Hall by himself. Bush got $2.55M his first year of arbitration, seems a pretty safe estimate for Parra. Maybe a little low. Gallardo is likely to get even more than that. Hopefully Wolf will never be as bad or cost as much as Suppan.
  17. Yeah digital, that would be sweet. I have small town crap cable. Think of years ago when there was the farmers 5(or 4 if you go far enough back). I have today's version of that. I am just happy to get FSN Wisconsin. I think I will be lucky if we have digital within the next 2 years. Satalite isn't in the budget right now or the near future. Oh well. MLB TV seems to be making some pretty nice hirings since their inception. Reynolds, Trenni and now Gammons.
  18. I would hate to see either Salome or Lucroy burn up a whole year of service as a backup. I know the players, their families and friends would prefer the opposite because it gets them closer to free agency. The dividing line between Coach and most of us is he is a Salome fan and we are Brewers fans. We all want to see Salome and the Brewers succeed and hope they go hand in hand. To fans that is secondary to the Brewers doing well. To Coach, the Brewers succeeding is secondary to Salome succeeding. At least that is how I see it. Hopefully both succeed together.
  19. Gallardo and Parra start to get expensive in 2011. It may seem like we will not be hamstrung by these deals right now, but all our young players are going to get more expensive. A million here, a million there will start to add up the next couple years. Suppan dropping off in 2011 and Fielder in 2012 will probably be offset by those guys.
  20. I agree, I am skeptical he will get that coaching with us. I think he could. I believe Ed Sedar had a lot to do with our success in the past, I just get the feeling it wasn't emphasized in 2009. Maybe it will be and things will look better in 2010. We were never really an elite SB team. We were at least competent in past years.
  21. Guys this pitching staff was HORRID last year. Everybody is well aware of that. Better than 2009 doesn't mean good.
  22. Zaun and Hart are probably better hitters than Escobar so I think it would be a mistake to give Escobar all those extra PA. Not to mention that one of Escobar's main assets would probably go mostly unused in front of Fielder and Braun.
  23. I agree that Escobar and Weeks should be the 2 with the most attempts. Escobar moreso than Weeks since I think he will be in the bottom of the order. It just seemed like we were off last year stealing. Hart and Cameron who are normally good stealing bases were not good. Sort of like they didn't have a good feel for it. You can go down the list and come up with some excuse for every guy, but I think it is a case where they were out of practice. Gomez looks fast, but not good on the bases.
  24. This could also theoretically work. But having a good offense and bad pitching didn't do anything for the Brewers in 2009, and Melvin wasn't going to try that again. You are right, Melvin wasn't. The offense will not be as good in 2010. Melvin made it worse. Even improving the pitching could still make us a worse team than last year. I think we will win more than 80 games. I think we would have won more than 80 games most of the time if the 2009 season was replayed several thousand times. We had some guys underperform drastically, specifically Bush and Parra, and that shouldn't be expected again. Not that it might not happen, it just shouldn't be the expectation.
  25. The Brewers didn't seem like they were even trying to steal and when they did, they were running whenever. They looked bad on the bases last year. It seemed like he gave everybody equal opportunity to steal instead of just select guys. A good portion of those might have been hit and runs, which I hate. Our baserunning looked like a mess. I believe our baserunning in 2008 looked solid and with a mostly similar team in 2009 it looked like a mess. I know it doesn't add up to much in terms of runs, but it can be helpful in certain situations. Last year it seemed like we dropped off so bad, it wasn't a trick in our bag even with guys who otherwise are good at stealing bases. Maybe the time wasn't put in to studying the pitchers and their moves like in previous years. I know that was somewhat rambling and I probably could sum it up with saying "we just looked off on the bases in 2009."
