They gave him the option to pitch out of the pen. He declined.

52 starts on 2 years. Needs 58 in the next 2 for his option to vest at the high dollar amount.

They better not be trying to win games. Also, I think it's stipid to evaluate a player over a few starts. If they don't know what they have by now, a few starts won't help.

They can easily let bullpen guys get in a routine. Be ready anytime after the 5th inning.

We know what we have in Gennett. We have known for years. Segura, well he gets a little more expensive next year. If we can get something decent for him we should take it. It really doesn't hurt to hold onto him either.

Not saying it isn't his fault. I'm saying he didn't get fired because he was doing what management wanted.

I was never really a big fan of Carlos. I didn't like his antics but I don't think they went to far and should have warranted the bad response they usually get. They were not like Morgan where he is purposely drawing attention to himself.

Honestly it sounds like he was a corporate yes man so I bet the owners loved him. I got the impression it is an ownership problem.

And they'll help the Brewers get a hopefully top-5, very likely top-7 draft pick instead of another 12-18th overall pick, as well as more international signing bonus money. I think most of us agree that this season is preferable than a season of 78-83 wins. Yes it is. If you can't get into the playoffs you might as well get a good pick. 78-83 wins would be preferable if we had some really good young talent in the high minors or on the MLB club. Those were miserable times to be a Brewers fan. 2012 setup the Lohse signing in 2013. then there was the Horrible decision to resign Yuni. then to compound that they put him at 1B. So after that crap start to the year they win enough games at the end of 2013 to drop several picks in the draft. Add in a spot lost to a compensation pick from the year before also.

You live in/around Madison? I live downtown. Been to Hop Cat yet? They have 30 local brews on tap, during happy hour (M-Th, 2-6pm) all local taps are $3 and burgers are 1/2 price. I've only been once, and it seems to be an older crowd during happy hour (not sure now since the kids are back in school). I hate to say this, but I think Great Dane's beers are terrible. They are always skunky. Can't say I've ever liked anything they've made except for maybe one of their porters. I know the guys at MobCraft, I did a consulting project for them in the MBA program. They make some really interesting and unique stuff. You can buy it at their warehouse (off Stoughton Rd.), Trixie's Liquor (East Wash), and some stuff at Riley's and Metcalf's Market. I live about half an hour from Madison. I am attending MATC and had a 5 hour gap in classes one day a week in the spring. I usually stopped for lunch at a brewpub. Probably do supper a few times a month at one this semester. Met a few guys who like craft beer over the spring and summer. Have not been to Hop Cat. Usually when I am around there I go to Cooper's Tavern. I usually end up at either Ale Asylum or karben 4. They are really close to campus. Great Dane and New Glarus have been passed up by many places. They may not even make top 10 if I really sat down and started listing brewpubs and breweries. Definitely would not have a top 10 in individual beers. I have heard of Mobcraft but never had their beer.

In my opinion Idiot Farm is better than Fantasy Factory. I was able to have it a couple times at the source. I can't wait until Silk Scorpion comes back.

So, so disappointed this thread died. If you are a beer fan PM me and I will direct you to a beercentric Facebook page several friends and I have been using for over a year now. We have world wide members. I love waking up to new beer posts in the morning. Smells like victory. My latest brewery top 5(just to add something) 1. Ale Asylum 2. Vintage brewing 3. Karben 4 4. Ommegang 5. Great Dane(they will soon have distribution through Wertz Beverage)

Pittsburgh is very likely to make the playoffs for the third straight year. The Brewers have made the playoffs four times in 46 years. Not back to back let alone 3 years in a row recently.

The ending of the 2013 season made me sick to my stomach. That whole season made me sick. Still does thinking about it.

When you are expected to be around .500 you need to trade MLB players unless you have talent coming up soon enough to make use of that MLB talent. We haven't since about 2012. I know we led the NL Central for most of 2014 bu that was buoyed by a really good month like this year has been sunk by a really bad month. Its about making a bubble of talent. Ours has been spread out all over the levels instead of concentrated in one place. The last few years has seemed like we were striving for mediocrity instead of trying to actually win.
