  1. Why can't he improve his play in AAA where he can't affect W/L at the MLB level?
  2. Are you sure that was booing. It wasn't COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP?
  3. I finally got around to watching the last spring training game against the Cubs today. It was on WGN so it had the Cubs announcers. They were talking and mentioned that Fukudome would be hitting leadoff against LHP, Fukudome being a left himself, instead of his usual 5th spot. The reasoning behind this being that he wouldn't provide Ramirez protection in the 5 hole against lefties.
  4. Didn't Joe Girardi win manager of the year while ruining 3 young arms for the Florida Marlins?
  5. I was going to post something, but this sums up my thoughts better than I could have put it into words myself. I limit my booing to games when the Cubs come in so that the cheers of the Cubs fans are drown out.
  6. Just so you can quickly compare with the rest of the managers last year. http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pKN8HdBGjC9Lj3mu1VOkJcA
  7. Give me a little time and I will post it, or just look it up at Baseball Reference.com. This is a link to the # of batting orders. They also have lineups. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/MIL/2007_bo.shtml
  8. So I am taking Opening Day off again this year like many of you are. From this point forward I am treating Opening Day like a holiday. I mail out cards to all the baseball fans in my family, baseball cards. I mean we mail out cards for practically ever other holiday, why not Opening Day? How many other people are taking the day off?
  9. My question has to be, why are you looking at the sky when there is a baseball game right in front of you? To be honest I never notice wether the roof is open or not.
  10. I would have counted the first mistake as batting Fielder or Braun 3rd instead of 2nd. Unless you believe in protection, switching guys in the order really makes little to no difference. I personally would bat Hart 5th and Hall 6th, but I doubt in the long run it will make much difference.
  11. I think what Pedro and most others ar trying to say is that Melvin inherited the best players we have. He can certainly be given some credit for some of our success, but the best players were aquired before he was on board.
  12. I eat cereal mostly when i get home from work while watching Brewers games. Cheerios Special K Captain Crunch Berries Lucky Charms - They're magically delicious(sorry, couldn't resist) Fruity Pebbles Frosted Mini Wheats
  13. You don't think that maybe having Prince behind Cameron is going to result in better pitches to hit? I certainly do.I think he might get one more fastball every few games hitting ahead of Prince.
  14. Why give him a chance when we have somebody better?
  15. I think the feeling over the last year has shifted from trusting in Doug and thinking he has done a great job building our team to more of a feeling that at least he hasn't screwed up the team by trading a lot of young talent. Taking a step back and really evaluating the situation you can't help but notice that most of our current players and major contributers have been draft picks. He doesn't have a lot of money to play with so expecting him to actually do much would be unreasonable. Bottom line to me is that he hasn't signed anybody to a potentially franchise crippling contract so should be able to keep winning year after year.
  16. Not really. What's the difference between winning 81 and 85 games? Unless that difference in wins is going to push you into the post season it makes little difference.
  17. The problem when we had him was that he was on the MLB roster. I think he needs/needed a year in AAA where he can/could just work on things. Instead he sat in the pen and got sporadic/little work. He needs a little polish. I think we picked him up through the Rule 5 draft and I think he was out of options.
  18. You mean RHP right? Neither should really bat against LHP.
  19. I honestly would be surprised if either team goes over 90 wins.
  20. If you are going to buy wine for cooking, I would reccommend getting a 4-pack of white wine. That's what my wife usually buys. You only have to open one at a time and it will keep pretty well as long as you don't let it get to hot or leave it in sunlight. I think it is around $5 for a 4-pack.
  21. It seems like clutch would be almost impossible to measure until somebody's career was over. You don't get enough at bats in clutch situations, whatever those may be, to tell wether or not it is just random or a skill. At least that would be my assumption.
  22. How do those projections project our defense? Are they assuming we will be as bad as last year? I am not saying that our defense will be much improved, that is the hope though. I have no problem with everybody picking the Cubs either. I do however have a problem with everybody saying that the Cubs win the division "hands down" or that the Cubs will run away with the division. Wouldn't it be easier and less time consuming to list anybody who does pick the Brewers. Gammons said that he thinkd the Brewers and Cubs will battle all year for the division.
  23. All this hate of Bush is going to drive me nuts. Why does everybody think that Bush couldn't get out of the 5th inning. Never mind the fact that Bush was one of our best pitchers at getting at least 6+ and many times 7. They all want Bush in the pen. Why put a guy who is pretty likley to get you 200+ innings if given a chance in the pen. I think it mostly stems from love of Villy. Hey I like the guy too, but he doesn't have better stuff than Bush. http://www.sportsradio1250.com/pages/300750.php
  24. He was perceived to be a juggler. It will take time to get a complete list, probably sometime tomorrow, but right now so far it is 108 lineups for Yost. One guy at 87 and a couple at 140+. Look at CBS sports. I am sure there is an easier way to look it up, but I don't know what that would be. My guess is that the 108 includes the pitcher. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/teams/depth-chart/MIL
