  1. Someone who either stays home to watch the game or shows up at the stadium to do more than hang out in the parking lot.
  2. I agree with TLB. There is no reason to try getting guys to sign extensions untill their first year of arbitration. Nothing longer than 4 years with a club option for a 5th.
  3. I think she got hired because Craig said something Sheets didn't like during an interview last year. Craig asked Sheets if he was turning into a finesse pitcher. Sheets gave him a pretty dirty look.
  4. I actually find negative reviews more helpful than positive reviews. They let you know a devices shortcomings better.
  5. I actually liked it better a few years back when we got to see the catcher call the pitches other than the times when there is a guy on 2B.
  6. Sheets has his curve this year and he didn't last year. Vargas and Capuano were 2 of the biggest nibblers last year and neither is on the pitching staff right now. Overall it is hard to tell if it is the game calling or the pitchers yet. I will say that I like Kendall's hustle and grittiness over Estrada. Seriously though, he looks like he is fundamentally sound behind the plate. Suppan and Bush are the guys who will look like they are nibbling. I do agree that he looks like he works with the pitchers more.
  7. Depends on his motive. If he really doesn't want to be traded he would see who had the money and room in their rotation for him. He could also pick 8 really bad teams with no chance to win so he has a better chance to go to a contender. My gut feeling is that he would block trades to big cities as he seemed to be behind his motivation in coming to Milwaukee. Of course we might have offered the most money, but I doubt it. FTJ, I think he has to pick 8 cities by some point as opposed to blocking trades, but I don't know that for sure. If he can veto the trades as they come 8 vetos would pretty much be a no trade clause. I doubt Melvin would go through the trouble to set up a trade more than a few times if it was going to get vetoed let alone 9 separate times. http://www.mlb4u.com/profile.php?id=426
  8. Thank you. It started out as a long if,then, else with that equation as the else, but after thinking about it if there isn't a decimal it wouldn't change the end result so it was unnecessary.
  9. My understanding is that he picks the teams at the start of every year. That is a large portion of teams. With a little research I am sure that he could make it work out so that he picks the only 8 teams that would be willing to either take on or afford his contract. Given his injury history, i think 5 years $80 million gets it done. I think it might be possible he accepts something like that. The problem is that I don't think the Brewers want to do a 5 year contract. To be honest I don't blame them.
  10. Limited no trade clause. He still gets to pick 8 teams every year.
  11. I think in the end Sheets leaves over the years more so than the money per. I think he will end up with a 4+ year contract, but we won't offer much more than maybe 3 with an option year.
  12. I just downloaded firefox(IE 7 wouldn't show the Brewer's website properly or let me bring up gameday or open windows to buy tickets) and it seems fine. I downloaded just this morning.
  13. If they pick their spots with him, i.e. against pitchers and/or catchers who are bad at defending against the steal, those would be times for Hall to run. That could be said of everybody other than Hart and Weeks.
  14. Come on we all know Hall stole Zambrano's bananas.
  15. http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/1925000/images/_1926606_bullfighter_afp_300.jpg I found a picture of Hall fielding at 3B.
  16. Well, the actual number of events is important. He had almost as many attempts 3 years ago when he was good as the last two years combined. I would like to think that they realized he is bad at stealing bases so he has less attempts. As to the breakeven point and slugging, if Hall continues to hit 5th, I don't know how relevant that is. If it's a tight game and they think they can get Hall to 2nd so that a single from Hart or Hardy can score him, sounds good to me Outs are outs. The best way to win games is minimize outs. Hall attempting stealing leads to an increased in outs and therefore less scoring. The slugging is very relevant, even in the 5th spot. If we had singles hitter after Hall it might make sense to steal, but we don't. The likely hood of a multibase hit is pretty good so he is better off waiting at 1st than making an out on the bases. I don't think we know at this point whether or not we can say with certainty what kind of base-stealer Hall is right now. We obviously don't have enough to think that he should always have the green light, but there isn't enough to suggest he is horrible either. I think we can. Are you going to tell me that we also don't know what kind of base stealer Fielder is since he has so few attempts?
  17. The starters are my only worry at this point. None has gone more than 6 1/3. Which in turn makes me worry about our pen. Still, it is very early with only one turn through the rotation. Ask again at the end of the month.
  18. Marry fast and if you are male take your wife's last name, unless it is worse.
  19. He has been at 50% or lower stealing bases in all but 2 years of his career. One year he was 66%, which I believe is about break even for an average team, and once 75%. With the slugging on our team I am not sure if 75% is high enough to break even.
  20. Hall is a terrible base stealer. He has been under 50% successful over the last 2 years. He has speed, but is a bad base stealer.
  21. Three year splits WHIP/BAA/K/BB/IP 1.45/.284/332/200/591 1.26/.270/375/111/532.2 Which guy would you want?
  22. What brought this on is the top of the 9th inning in Monday's game. I thought both managers mismanaged that half of the inning with the sac bunt and IBB to Fielder. I thought the Cubs would have been better off either bringing in a lefty to start the inning or a righty and then going to a lefty to face Gwynn and Fielder instead of walking Fielder to get a righty/righty matchup with Braun. I know the splits of a righty facing Fielder compared to Braun is pretty big, but I would think that you would want to limit the base runners as much as possible.
  23. I don't care if we are ranked 30 as long as we are in first place in the division.
  24. You can say it. The Cubs announcers are homers.
  25. I was wondering if anybody knew a good way to add up innings without having to round and go into messy if then statements. For example adding 6.1, 7.2, 5.1, and 7.2 and getting 27. I know I can put them at 1/3 and stuff, but I would prefer to put them in as decimals. Edit: Here is what I have right now =(A1-ROUND(A1,0))*1/3*10+ROUND(A1,0)
