  1. Have you ever fallen asleep in the early afternoon and woken up around 6 pm thinking it is 6am?
  2. Sorry, but thinking that a 3 game suspension would end a players career is just silly in my opinion. This is a relief pitcher. You can easily go 3 days without pitching as a relief pitcher.
  3. How would a suspension for McClung be career ending? The reason Yost's suspension was upheld was because there is no appeal process for managers. They don't have a mega union behind them.
  4. Sleeping 21 hours is common, if you have mono.
  5. Going by that we should get rid of Ryan Braun. 28-19 .595 before call up 55-60 .478 after call up
  6. My bet is Turnbow. Unfair or not, he is not treated well by the fans.

  9. Probably wouldn't look like a bobble head at all. More like a scale figurine.

  12. Short trailer on new cartoon. http://www.starwars.com/video/view/000478.html
  13. Yeah I have heard about that also. I even read something about it on ign.com somewhere. Live action TV show about the bounty hunters I believe. http://tv.ign.com/articles/845/845437p1.html http://tv.ign.com/articles/827/827926p1.html
  14. I am sure there are at least 2-3 people that still want more Star Wars movies. Only anime, bu I liked the Clone Wars stuff on cartoon network last time so I am very much looking forward to this as well. http://tv.ign.com/articles/851/851375p1.html Edit: Holy crap, they have 30 episodes so far at 30 min each.
  15. The key word being reasonable. We just can't afford to give Sheets market value if he has a good year. Even if he has a bad year I think he will still get a pretty good contract. I wouldn't count on a hometown discount either. I actually would be dissapointed in Sheets if he took a hometown discount. Players have finite careers so they have to get as much money as they can, when they can.
  16. LaRussa an Pujols disagree with you. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=270926108
  17. I like the NL. You don't have to spend an extra $8M every year for a guy who just hits. Of course watching most pitchers attempt to hit is brutal, but that just makes watching pitchers like YoGa hit that much more enjoyable.
  18. I guess what I am getting at is that if he would join the Yankees I think his best chance at at bats would be as a DH. Maybe some of Abreu's at bats. I don't know for sure, but suspect that if you looked at many starter's splits you would see many of them weak against same handed pitching. I would take a .800 OPS for most positions as the weak end of a split. They all had a bad year last year, but the 3 year averages look pretty good for Damon and Cabrera. If, like you said, Giambi is the DH and he is weak against LHP, then he might some of those at bats.
  19. How do we know that McClung hitting Pujols was intentional? McClung isn't exactly known for his pinpoint control.
  20. The Yankees also have the DH in the AL. I am not sure who their DH is or who their bench guys are. None of those LHP splits look like they are bad enough to warant much playing time. Prince Fielder has .261/.355/.834 last year and .256/.339/.828 BA/OBP/OPS vs LHP. I don't think we would want Mench in instead of Fielder.
  21. He still has a limited no trade clause even after that. He still can pick a certain number of teams each year he does not want to be traded to.
  22. I think he said he wore contacts before the surgery.
  23. They don't have to commit to a winning product, but unfortunately they are and they beat us last year.
  24. I think most people would like that young cannon arm catcher and that is part of the problem. Where is a guy like that available and what do you have to give up to get him?
  25. So I was thinking the other day, yes it hurt, what if the Cubs got contracted? I know they won't, but it is fun to speculate. First I would be surprised. Who wouldn't? The Cubs wouldn't be a team anybody would expect to get contracted. They have plenty of money and popularity. Then I would be very happy. Time to party. Then I would feel a little guilty about being so happy while other people were miserable. Then again, who cares, it is the Cubs. Happy again. Lastly confusion. Now who do I hate? I mean if you are a fan you have to have a rival and ours just got contracted. Who is our rival now?
