  1. Actualy the Cubs have 2 more games left to play than we do. Edit: If the Cubs curse keeps going they will lose both and give 1st place to us. Had to add that to make it a silver linning type tone.
  2. My son did a great job as the junior announcer at Tueadays game. I thought he should have been allowed to keep anouncing since the 3 players he introduced scored a run and nothing happened until the 8th inning after that.
  3. Tool If you like their music, they are way better live. I saw Korn live in '95 and they were great. I have seen them a couple times since and all I have to say is, meh.
  4. That could be refered to as being "Sheeted", and that has happened to our starters a lot latley. I think Parra goes down to get more consistent work and brought back up when posters expand. He then gets put on the post season roster.
  5. Isn't 1080p only really useful when you get into 40" and bigger sets? I remember hearing somewhere you can't tell the difference between 1080p and 720p untill you get to the larger sets sizes.
  6. The Cubs had to go on a 7 game win streak just to pick up 2 1/2 games on us.
  7. The Sexson trade got us some major league ready players that allowed us to keep our prospects in the minors one more year. Spivey was a place holder for Weeks, Counsell for JJ, and Overbay for Prince. Don't forget we also got Zack Jack and Gross in the Overbay trade. It wasn't a big fleecing, but bought us an extra year of our current core players.
  8. If Glavine wins his 300th game tomorrow that means we lose and that would really suck.
  9. Why do the ones we love hurt us the most. The fact that this was the first game of a double header makes me really sad to watch the night game.
  10. Estrada has a point. I feel more like an antiCubs fan more than a Brewers fan. I am having a hard time enjoying this season even though the Brewers are doing well. I think after Tuesday that I am going to avoid the standings and Cus scores until September.
  11. Ryan Braun because he readjusts his batting helmet 2-3 times between each base.
  12. In most cases the pitcher is the only hitter you would want to sacrafice. I really don't think most of the players are trying to hit homers. The only hitter I have seen swinging out of his shoes is Fielder.
  13. I believe that most people here thought the Cubs would be a strong offensive team with bad pitching. That should win plenty of games in the regular season especially facing bottom of the rotation pitchers. I think the surprising thing has been their pitching. Any team with that kind of offensive firepower has a chance to win every night. Just ask the Yankees.
  14. You rarely get a good value on trades during the season. I have to say I am not surprised that Balfor got traded. After it became apparent he wasn't going to stick with the big club that was really the only option.
  15. Maybe they just aren't as good playing in front of big crowds. somebody else brought up how we have a better record during the week than on Fridays and weekends. Those would be the days when there are the biggest crowds. All wild speculation on my part of course.
  16. Pretty sure he had at least one good game in AAA this year.
  17. I disagree with this. We currently have 8 starting pitchers on our big league roster this year that will be back next year. Even in 2010, 5 of those starters will still be under our control. That doesn't include anybody in the minors or take any contract extentions into account. I am not saying I like the trade. Trading for relievers, or any midseason trade for that matter, is not going to get you the best return.
  18. Well, I could be wrong. My mom went to the new Busch last year and she said they wouldn't let her in with her backpack. They might have change their policy. Or maybe she just looked shady.
  19. He is out of options. EDIT: With the general need for middle relief throughout the league I would be willing to bet he doesn't clear waivers. I think Melvin is probably looking to trade him. Just my opinion though. Makes more sense to me than trying to get him through waivers.
  20. I have to say that I can't recall a contract that hasn't been back loaded. It seems to be pretty standard procedure to backload a contract.EDIT: My whole issue is with Free Agents in general. I never liked the contract because, if he is playing well we don't want to trade him and if he isn't we can't trade him without eating a large portion of the contract.
  21. I won't argue with that. I am just not sure if Linebrink was needed to make the playoffs. On the other hand I am sure he will not hurt our chances.
  22. They don't allow backpacks into the game like Miller Park does.
  23. Brewers baseball all day on Saturday. Wow, if my wife didn't have to work I would throw a huge party. It is like a holiday.
  24. Just remember to always tell your future wife she is the most beautiful woman you have ever dated. Even if she doesn't believe you she will appreciate the flattery.
