  1. I support Yost 99.9% of the time. Today I didn't like his decision to leave Capuano in for so long. The only reason I can think of for leaving Capuano in is he sttarted the inning with only 75 pitches. Hopefully this is one of those "it will payoff down the stretch" moves. Makes the starter a little more confident he isn't going to get pulled at the first sign of trouble.
  2. I hate watching Fielder inch off the base at 1st especially after he had that balk called on him a few weeks back. I wish Braun would get a batting helmet that fits, unless it is some rookie hazing thing. I am tired of Estrada not blocking balls in the dirt.
  3. Shouldn't we be calling it a Hallternative?
  4. Congratulations slobber
  5. Does anybody know anything about junior announcers? My son is going to be a Junior Announcer for a game and I am just kind of wondering what to expect.
  6. He has one son, so if he is married then he would have at least 2 fans.
  7. I'll TIVO and watch if I have nothing better recorded.
  8. I only score games I go to. Kind of a history of the games I go to. I wish the Brewers had scorebooks for sale. EDIT: Got the scorebook for about $20 with space for 100 games. Saves money in the long term. If it is a special game I can always buy a scorecard to display.
  9. Yes, yes I know "small sample". Gwynn went down to AAA and tore up that league to the tune of .258/.315/.603 (BA/OBP/OPS). Gallardo on the other hand had a line of .250/.308/.808. Maybe he should pinch hit off the bench.
  10. Jenkins should never, ever start a game when there is a lefty starter. Did I say never? EDIT: Let me rephrase that slightly. Jenkins should never, ever start a game when there is a lefty starter if we have a right handed outfielder on the bench. Basically Leave Jenkins in every day while Hall is hurt, but go back to the platoon when Hall comes back.
  11. The big thing I see with Vargas, and Gallardo for that matter, is they aren't going to give you a lot of innings every time out. Not a big deal for a 5th starter who will get his spot skipped every now and then.
  12. Put my name in as well please.
  13. To bad. I liked Tomo quite a bit.
  14. They did give a big contract, at the time, to Jenkins. The Sheets and Hall deals might have gotten done anyway. I don't think we would be as good as we are now without Mark, but we would still have the same core players.
  15. Good point about the bench. Wether or not Miller is here because of Attanasio is questionable though since his contract predates the change in ownership. Of course that was more of a formality so Attanasio might have had some dealings with the Brewers before officially taking over. EDIT: Mark A. took over the Brewers in January of 2005. Weeks was already drafted by then.
  16. How much of an effect has Mark A. actually had on the Brewers organization? How many of the players do we have now just because he is now the owner? I don't think his monetary contributions have been as big as a new attitude towards the team from fans andd the community. Since he took over I can think of only 2 deals that I don't think get made before he took over. I don't think Suppan gets signed without Mark and I don't think the trade for Carlos Lee gets made.
  17. I have to put my vote in for Emil's frozen pizza. Really good but you have to make sure you cook them right as the meat doesn't seem to be precooked. With pizzas like Tombstone and Jacks all you really have to do is warm them up a bit and they taste ok. With Emil's you have to make sure you cook them good or you end up with raw meat.
  18. What gives me hope is that Wood might soon be joining the team. Don't forget how much of a stud he was last year when he returned.
  19. Ok I guess I will pile on. Why would a Home Run ever be a top play unless it is a walk off? I mean you see the top plays and they show meaningless homers all the time.
  20. I checked back a few years and there are between 15-25 people per year that hit 34 or more homers. during that same time there were 7 or 8 guys per yera with 200 or more hits with one year where only 3 made 200. Having a BA of .300 with 500 AB's would give you 150 hits per year. While either are still impressive and point to a long productive career, I would think 3000 hits would be much more difficult.
  21. I am glad we got somebody who wants to pitch here. Capellan hasn't looked as good as he did last year. The guy we got was just drafted in 2006.
  22. So approx 28% os Sheet's losses were when he gave up 2 or fewer runs. I just can't bring myself to blame pitching for a loss when 4 or fewer runs are given up.
  23. 500 HRs could be acheived in a 10 year career. Especially now where 50 HR is reached so often.
