  1. Yeah I don't take any medicine unless I am at work. Just some Advil for headaches and Sudafed for a stuffy nose, and it makes it so you don't feel so run down. Only at work though. Other than that I tough it out and try to get rest.
  2. We should proably trade Sheets now before he gets bad like the rest of our starters.
  3. I think there are no problems with 2-3 run homers. The solo homers hurt. Like somebody else said seems to be more a problem of OBP. That would of course eventually gain more runs and make solo homers 2-3 run shots. We have a lot of guys that hit homers so I think we are going to have a large % of our runs off of homers no matter what.
  4. Pretty sure there are steroids that you can take oraly.
  5. Keep in mind that JJ, Capuano and I believe Estrada are eligible for arbitration next year.
  6. I believe it was locked because he wrote every other post on the thread.
  7. If you know anybody who works at the Tommy Bartlet show they could get you a discount. They might also be able to put you up for the night if you don't have kids.
  8. I blame the demise of the Bucks on George Karl. I believe he was the GM when Ray got traded. I can see why Ray got traded with Redd on the bench though. Since then we haven't kept a coach for more than a couple seasons so I guess I blame Larry for keeping us down. It seems like he trades half the roster every off season. Why did Porter get fired? I thought he was a good coach. If you look at the top teams in the league they all have some level of consistency in their rosters and coaches. Larry is playing GM more like a fan than a GM. Good thing I am a Badgers Hockey fan so I have something to watch in the winter.
  9. The only person who might like scenario 2 better seems to be Dusty Baker.
  10. I thought this year would be a growth year. We had several new players or players coming back from injury. Many , many question marks. At this point I don't think it is playoffs or bust, but close.
  11. I know this is sort of delayed, but I was somewhat annoyed during the futures game when they said JJ had an average infield arm. They said Reyes had a great arm and cited how he made off balance throws a lot. So I guess having bad footwork means you have a good arm and if you get to balls and have time to set and throw you have an average arm.
  12. I think it would be less significant than making an out. As for scoring from second on a single, it would be better than making an out.
  13. Yeah I am going on Sunday as well. Hope you enjoy your Brewers experience.
  14. A runner on 1st should be holding up halfway to 2nd on a fly ball to the outfield so unless he prevents a triple, which he should score on anyway, I don't see how a runner could clog up the bases. Maybe a guy at 2nd when there is a really fast guy at 1st prevents an extra base. I guess I don't see it having much of an effect unless he gets thrown out taking an extra base, but that would also go under poor baserunning. I guess if you are poor at base running you could clog up bases, but to me that would have more to do with being a good base runner, which I personally think could be taught, than speed. EDIT: Think of Carlos Lee as an example of a good base runner who had very little speed. 2nd EDIT: I thought of a better example. Miller gets a single. Weeks hits what would normally be a triple, but Miller is only fast enough to get to 3B. Miller on 3B, Weeks on 2B, with no outs. Or would you rather have, Miller pops out. Weeks hits a triple. Weeks on 3B, one out.
  15. Not making outs is very important.
  16. No way, custard is obviously inferior to ice creamhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. My feelings exactly. I wouldn't say don't sign any free agents, but almost. The best deals in terms of contracts are deals like the ones to Sheets and Hall. Buying out the arbitration years plus a couple free agent years at slightly less than free agent market value is the best way to go. That and you get a player who is still in his prime compared to a players who is heading into his decline especially with a longer contract. I guess I don't dislike the Suppan contract specifically. I have a general dislike of signing free agents.
  18. His OPS is pretty good. If you look at 2 guys with similar OPS and OBP you might actually prefer the guy with a lower BA in most cases since he is more likley to hit for extra bases when he gets a hit. The guys closest to Ichiro in OPS are Hart, Jeter, A. Rios, Carlos Lee, and Mike Lowell. Jeter is the closest. He has a BA approx 20 points lower and has 9 more extra base hits so he ended up at 2nd 9 more times this year so far than Ichiro. The other problem is when your OBP is BA driven is that when you are not hitting you are not helping the team score runs. Think Estrada with more speed.
  19. Seeing as how none of our relievers are completley stinking up the place I don't see any moves being made unless there is an injury. Same goes for all the players on the big club. The next move I see getting made is one that involves Hall coming off the DL. None of our relievers are terrible if they are used correctly. That means Shouse only against lefties.
  20. The main problem I see with Ichiro's OBP is it is largley BA driven.
  21. Wow, I can't wait to see what he says when all those players go to other teams when we can no longer afford them.
  22. I am just waiting for the first "start Hart in CF and move Hall to Right" thread. I can see it happening as soon as Hall comes back. I can see some of the feelings already.
  23. Much better than ESPN's mid season awards where Ordonez was picked over A-Rod because the Tigers are in contention then Holliday was picked over Fielder even though the Rockies are at .500 and the Brewers are leading their division. Nothing like consistency in logic.
  24. Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
  25. I almost started a thread on how I was going to take a pledge saying I was going to avoid the score of Cubs games and looking at the standings until the middle of August. I find my happiness as a Brewers fan more dependant on how the wether the Cubs win or lose than how the Brewers do. The worst part is at the start of the season I would have picked them to finish 2nd in the central to St. Louis and miss the wild card. They have played beyond my expectations and I am still dissapointed. You are not alone.
