  1. I also went to Kesslers. They don't require you to get the ring checked periodically to keep up the warranty. A lot of places require periodic repairs or cleanings. I would recommend that wherever you go that you find what you like then try to haggle the price. I went in and told them what I wanted to spend and went from there. Big mistake. Don't let them know what you want to spend unless you have to. I wouldn't get to hung up on the size unless her friends are the type that compare that type of thing. If they do you will never hear the end of it. A surprise is nice, but having her there will guarantee she will like the ring. Of course if she likes surprises that might be more important. EDIT: Buying an engagement ring is such an individual thing it is hard to give good advice other than general buying advice. I would definatly check up on the 4 C's before buying. It makes it easier to tell if they are trying to mislead you when you are buying. www.kesslersdiamonds.com/
  2. Alright I will put in my two cents. I think Yo is more than likley better than either Vargas or Bush. That doesn't mean that we should keep him in MIlwaukee. I think the long term benefits of keeping him in AAA outweigh keeping him in Milwaukee. I believe we can win the division without Yo in the rotation. Once we reach the post season I doubt we will need more than 3 starting pitchers so he wouldn't get a start in the post season. With days off our bullpen should stay rested enough to be effective for the entire post season. To me there isn't enough of a need for him right now to give up the starts he will be making for us 5-6 years down the road when Suppan, Sheets and Capuano have moved on. EDIT: I think somebody already said it, but could a pitcher's stats with runners on be directly affected by the fact that since he put runners on he was not pitching that well in the first place?
  3. I know that is what I said. If he is playing up to his contract we don't want to trade him and if he isn't playing up to his contract we can't trade him.
  4. I wish you hadn't brought that up. Now I will start thinking about it and I never thought he was better than our 3rd best starter. He isn't ever going to be much more than an inning eater who will give up 3-5 runs and go 5-7 innings a game. That is a lot of money for what you expect your 4th or 5th starter to do. Just goes to show how overpaid free agents are in general.EDIT: My brother always explained the baloon at the end of his contract away by saying that we can always trade him. I hope he is right.
  5. By the way the Cubs still suck. Good to see them lose 2 of 3 at home.
  6. Matt Wise didn't hurt himself when he hit his head entering the dugout. I guess salad tongs are more dangerous.
  7. I have to say that I prefer my managers to be vanilla. By that I mean calm and level headed. Not blowing up at the drop of a hat like Pinella. Not saying boneheaded things to the media like Ozzy Guillen(sp?). I think Ozzy is entertaining, but glad he isn't our manager. Baseball players are adults and I would think they would prefer to be treat as such. I was always told by my boss to praise in public and chastise in private.
  8. LOOGYs rule. It was cool to see a save the hard way tonight.
  9. "Playoffs? What do you mean playoffs? We will be lucky to win another game."
  10. I would talk to somebody who knows more about livetraps before using them. They are smart enough to get out of livetraps. Also are very agressive when cornered.
  11. We were at The Great Dane on Sunday and wanted to buy some Black Earth Porter and they told us it would go flat within 24 hours. Do you know why that is the case? EDIT: Original post sounded rude. I apologize for being rude.
  12. I think he says something like "the light, it's so bright."
  13. I have to agree with that, but he does keep a good OBP.
  14. I doubt it. I remember that people were calling for Yost's head after we started 2-0 this year. Some people will never be happy. Of course that is their right. It is also our right to disagree with them.
  15. I really do not like Ann Carol(hate is such a strong word that I reserve for the Cubs). Ricky Sexson hit a homer last night. No that is not a mispelling, that is what she said. If you are going to come in to the studio with bags under your eyes the least you can do is pronounce names correctly.
  16. MVP 2005 was the best baseball game ever. When can EA Sports make MLB games again?
  17. I guess I don't agree that Yost has purposly done a lot of lineup juggling. Hart was nicked up towards the end of April so Mench/Gross/Gwynn got some starts in right. Then Hart gets healthy and Braun gets called up. Now Weeks is hurt and he has to make changes again. I think once Weeks comes back you are going to see a pretty stable lineup except for days off and when Hall gets going.
  18. How was Yost's lineup bad tonight? He gave Braun an extra day of rest. Other than that there was nothing out of the ordinary.
  19. Brian seems to get funnier and funnier the more the Brewers lose. EDIT: not on this thread, but other threads. 11 hits per game average, that is to funny.
  20. The only team with a bigger division lead than we have right now is Boston. With how St. Louis and Chicago are playing we couldn't give away the division if we wanted to. We would have to loose every game for the next 3 weeks for them to catch up.
  21. in my defense I will say that my previous post on this thread was all sarcasm. Not in blue, but still sarcasm. The thing I am upset with the most is people who think that we should have our best players on the field every day. They need a day off now and then.
  22. The only thing that would have made the lineup better was putting Braun in or if Weeks was available. Braun needed a day off. Every player needs a day off. Bottom line is the players did not do a thing tonight and Yost wrongly gets the blame.
  23. I am really upset that Yost told his players not to get a hit today. I think the players were really sad when Ned told them that. For this reason I think that Yost should be ousted right away.
  24. Still upset Estrada can't block a ball in the dirt. If I was a pitcher I wouldn't want to put a ball in the dirt.
  25. I have to agree with theHall thing. He has been "just about there" since the start of May.
