  1. I was actually at the match in Denver and it was probably as ridiculous as it looked on TV. I was in the supporter's section by a corner flag and in the second half I had a hard time seeing the far side of the field. Credit to the grounds crew cause they busted their tail every opportunity to try and keep the lines cleared.
  2. Sounds like Klinsmann has lost the locker room: http://aol.sportingnews.com/soccer/story/2013-03-19/jurgen-klinsmann-us-mens-soccer-coach-national-team-usa-american-world-cup-2013 None of this really surprises anyone paying attention since his hire. I will be happy if the US makes it to Brazil.
  3. I think I have this Badgers team figured out. When you expect nothing out of them, they will come through. When you expect something out of them, they will fail. I'm expecting either a first round NCAA Tourney loss or an Elite 8 appearance.
  4. Ref stands by red card to Nani. Collina also agreed with the decision: http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1366984/turkish-ref-defends-issuing-nani-red-card,-report-says?cc=5901
  5. Only if he hires Gary Payton as an assistant. Just seems like a natural fit.
  6. If Sir Alex Ferguson thinks it isn't a red card, then it most likely is. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing him cheesed off. Cannot stand ManUre.
  7. An average offensive team was hot early then went cold. That's why they are average. What really killed them is not stopping the lane penetration in the second half. It seemed like the Purdue possession was either a floater in the lane or a Byrd three.
  8. If the Bucks really want to give up on the season, a pairing of Ellis and Josh "I hate Milwaukee" Smith would be way up there on the train wreck scale. Part of me really wants to see it.
  9. My guess is "The Braun Advantage" means not shooting yourself in the foot by setting up a fake website to try and hide your PED use. The advantage is not being a moron.
  10. What about Maldonado and/or Lucroy getting some time at first?
  11. Get the sense Skiles holds younger players more accountable than vets. As a player, that would drive me crazy.
  12. Read on his Wikipedia page during his playing career he would talk to a voice he said was in his head. Freel, along with teammates and coaches, had fun with it and came up with a name for his voice. Don't know how true any of that is but seems like the guy was a little off for a while.
  13. Definitely check out The CrabFeast with Ryan Sickler and Jay Larson. Two funny guys who tell stories and have guests on who have great stories too. I would put their catchphrase here but half of it wouldn't pass the cuss filter. Five stars though.
  14. With the loss of MLS rights and now the loss of EPL rights, what does Fox Soccer Channel have left? Champions League? World Cup 2018? Hardly seems like enough to sustain a channel. Maybe they could pick up the Bundesliga rights from GolTV.
  15. Proud to say I was able to boo that man when he came to Miller Park as a member of the Yankees.
  16. http://sports.nationalpost.com/2012/10/23/the-apology-lance-armstrong-will-never-give/ Interesting piece.
  17. Mike Rizzo must have also put a limit on the number of postseason games the Nationals would play this year.
  18. Cardinals are the herpes of baseball, they just won't go away.
  19. So Klinnsman talked about how he called in Eddie Johnson for his aerial abilities, then proceeds to line him up as a wide midfielder. Becoming increasingly frustrated with Jurgen's tactics, or lack thereof. Hopefully it won't matter against Antigua.
  20. WLUK Fox 11 in Green Bay has been naming snow storms for years. However, I have to give the edge to the Weather Channel if they are going to go with Roman/Greek themed names over the everyday names WLUK uses.
  21. Coming in with two feet is never going to end well. The difference between yellow and red is yellow is for reckless challenges and red is for excessive force. Using two feet is definitely excessive force. On Guardian Football Weekly they made a case for giving Evans a yellow along with the red to Shelvey.
  22. Did I hear right on the broadcast when they said the Pirates have thrown out 14 out of 147 base runners this year?
  23. Road qualifiers in CONCACAF are never a sure thing. Especially with Count Dracula reffing tomorrow. Someone usually gets a straight red when that guy is in the middle.
  24. They should really allow him to smoke on the sideline. I don't think he can last the full 90.
  25. I can't wait for Seria A to start (probably the minority in that) but as a Roma supporter, I am so excited to see Zdenek Zeman's tactics back in Rome. He plays an all out attacking 4-3-3 style which is known for being played at a frantic pace and putting 8 players on the line at kick off. His Pescara team in Serie B scored 90 goals last year while winning the league. Good article about Zeman from the Wall Street Journal: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303830204577444361592390248.html#articleTabs=article
