  1. Ensberg is done... if they want to stick him in AAA, so be it...but putting him straight in the majors would be a bd idea..he's forgotten how to hit..or they changed the rule about peds or something...
  2. Cain? he's a great defender...did you mean Brantley?
  3. that would be my guess...there's no way Cain stays at AAA... i guess there's an outside possibility that the call to AAA is Brantley...he's got the most ab's in AA and fills the CF role as a possibility for 2008...we'll call it a long shot...but i can see an argument being made..
  4. about the same as he was doing in the bigs when they sent him down...walking too many people
  5. make him take garza...
  6. hernan has always been ahead of callix on the depth chart...if it's between those two, i'm sure it will be iribarren... i would guess they'll just use counsell and dillon and bring up TGJ, or maybe brad nelson
  7. i hope it means more joe dillon in the leadoff spot
  8. Lorenzo Cain has been mashing in BC for over a month now...he should definitely move up at the all-star break...he's earned his reprieve from that cesspool
  9. i think they'll re-sign him...and i think he'll get like 4 years 50-55 million... he could get more cash than that, but i wouldn't be surprised to see him sign a fairly reasonable deal... i suspect he'll get 4-5 years, and the biggest contract in brewers history..but he'll stay.. and since i don't think this team is going to be hurting for money over the next few years, i say sign him... and why is everyone trying to dump suppan? we can't replace him in house and any other decent free agent is going to cost the same amount...suppan is helthy every year...i like him..
  10. what does his ceiling have to do with who's haing the better season? I take chase utley because i might take milton bradley over hamilton
  11. i'll take atlanta...
  12. doesnt it dramatically cut his pay to send him to rookie ball? then again, he probably has a clause in his contract that pays him the AAA minimum or something no matter what goes on...
  13. LaPorta reminds me of Mark Teixiera as well...
  14. Wow Flanagan with some super high praise of mat gamel there...always good to here...apparently aguilar is more of a one pitch dude at the moment, but he said he has the makings of a good slider... nice stuff..
  15. Jeremy Reed hit .409 in the southern league in 2003...look how well that turned out for him! seriously though, Gamel is awesome
  16. his numbers to start the season were so astronomical that it was extremely likely he would come back to earth at some point...that is likely what we are seeing...he's apparently a streaky hitter... also, remeber when comparing him to gamel that he hasn't played a full season in the minors and he made the jump from basically rookie ball to AA without even a hitch..
  17. im fine with torres in the closer role as long as the middle relief doesn't implode... it's been awesome watch sheets and suppan throw a bunch of innings lately...takes a lot of pressure off of the viewer wondering which guy is going to cough it up..
  18. would guess the brewers always intended to promote brent at this time
  19. Taylor Green reminds me of Jeff Cirillo...you guys are undervaluing him here...he was the minor league player of the year last year after all... his numbers to this point are also incredibly similar to Mat Gamel's, but with a much better bb/k ratio...Taylor doesn't look like a top prospect, but he hits very well.. might be the nicest guy in the system to boot, which is pretty cool..
  20. he threw about 90-91 when i saw him last fall
  21. hell yes. let the endless bickering begin
  22. 3 guys in the lineup hitting under .200 stack them anyway you want, this team will still suck until they start hitting better
  23. Interview for a Brewers Blog A bunch of questions... Edit: Linked directly to post...
  24. No way...I'd never trade a guy like LaPorta for soria...the problem isn't just the bullpen, it's the fact that the brewers cant ever enter the 9th with more than a 1-2 run lead... soria's got less of a track record than turnbow did when he fell apart..
  25. he got hit by a pitch and taken out of the game...which is mentioned in post #6 in this thread
