  1. i aid yes before the year, and im sticking with it
  2. Gamel also has a problem with balls bouncing off his glove...nonetheless, 40 errors would be an improvement over last year..
  3. I agree with you sheetswannabe...but i'd just assume bench hall and play gamel every day...he hits lefties a ton too http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif yeah, the defense is a major problem...but the brewers completely suck right now, so i'm about ready to try anything
  4. Ya know, Mat Gamel hits righties a ton..
  5. Green's going to have a higher slugging percentage than that at the end of the year...learning to hit for power in the FSL takes some time...Mat Gamel struggled to hit for power there in the girst half last year as well... Taylor's got 15-20 homer power
  6. those two heights are probably backwards...i'm 6', and laporta was about the same as me, while gamel was taller by a little bit
  7. May 9, 2008: The Brewers win one on a comeback with 2 outs in the ninth against the division leading Cardinals
  8. pinky all the way...i lose my placing if i move my hand too much
  9. <-----------High School English teacher
  10. Zelous Wheeler's got 13 doubles on the season, which puts him on pace for about 60 along with a dozen or so bombs..he hits like rickie weeks was supposed to hit..
  11. Fuentes is the closer again in colorado because corpas is worse than gagne...and cordero is out with a sketchy arm problem for another 6 weeks... i want a starter and a different 3b/ss
  12. I suspect Bill is going to start getting benched for dillon if he can't raise his obp...he and hardy should not play against strong righites as the both suck as much as the power outage seems to have hurt the team, it's rreally been the inability of hall, hardy, weeks, and braun to get on base...all 4 of those guys are killing us right now...especially against righties... Hall especially is playing like a platoon guy right now...and is suspect his days as a starter are numbered
  13. trade the whole team for unlimited nachos at MP...cut our losses
  14. Al--- vazquez had a 3.74 with a 1.14 whip last year and 213 k's in 16 innings...this year he's got 46 k's in 46 innings with a 3.3 era and a 1.20 whip...he's thrown 200 innings 6 of the last 7 years (and the 7th he threw 198) quote his career line all you want, but at the moment he's posssibly the best pitcher in the al..if we can get him for three years at 11.5 million we'd be insane not to.. in fact, i think most everyone is undervaluing him here...except colby, who's beeen talking about getting him since the 90's
  15. LaPorta's going to be league average out there...he's got a pretty good arm... I'd say they moved him t right because they plan on playing him there next season with Hart in Center...it could also be because he's got a better arm than Cole Gillespie.. I think what we are seeing is that LaPorta is capable in an outfield corner...and that we'll see him in one next year in milwaukee he's going to be in AAA very soon, methinks
  16. I second Brian's idea...i drove from orlando to a BC game a couple years ago...it's only like an hour and a half away
  17. that's where i am as well toby..screw this crap..i want to win some games...
  18. why don't we just make torres the closer?
  19. signing bonds would be a freaking awesome idea...thats the kind of thing they do in car racing...at a track your driver sucks at? just replace him with someone who is retired and doesn't suck there...this works over and over every year.. so, why not do the same thing in baseball...need to make sure you get a bunt down just right in one series, well bring in rickey henderson...need someone on base, well why not bonds? of course, im kidding...but it would be pretty cool to see something like that.. anyway, i guessed in the preaseason projection article on the homepage that it would be LaPorta, but when i asked him about it on friday he just laughed... it'll be someone already on the roster...get ready for Kapler and gwynn baby!
  20. the new farmhops will be up on the front page shortly...there are comments aplenty from jim, patrick, toby, and i therein
  21. Gamel+ Escobar+ Luis Pena would probably net us a very good pitcher...in my mind that's probably the best package the team could come up with without mortgaging the future completely or the present at all... i don't know who we could get, but that would be enough to get just about anyone who's legitimately available...
  22. I now can join in with wvpowerblkwell and say that laporta hits the ball harder than braun...he makes ridiculously hard contact...braun has the ability to get the sweet spot of the bat on the ball regardless of where the ball is...kind of like vlad guerero...but laporta kills the ball regardless of where it hits the bat...he got sawed off tonight on an inside itch and hit it to deep right anyway.. i think laporta will hit a lot more like texiera than pujols, but that's pretty freaking awesome anyway..
  23. indeed...read to far into that comment...my bad al
