  1. Outside of a pinned game thread where I have to wade through hot takes about individual pitches, there's not much content besides mega threads like 2024 MLB Miscellaneous News with 167 replies. I get one here once every couple of days, I'm not going to open that thread and try to find my way through it. I hate Reddit, but honestly the Brewers forum there is becoming easier to use for infrequent posters... Glad this was posed, I enjoyed the article.
  2. Alright, I will be less snarky and more engaging. My issue with your initial post was that when you make statements like "never" or "nobody" you are almost always immediately wrong. In fact, you are wrong here because you know me through he internet, and I do think the Bucks will win this series. You can say you don't think they will win, or the national media is pro Indiana, but instead you went scorched earth, which adds nothing to the conversation. The Bucks and Celtics are both 1-1 with the Bucks missing their best player and the Heat missing their best player. I feel as though there is some unpredictability in the playoffs and certain players show up more when the lights are brightest. I hate clichés, especially in other sports, but in the NBA some teams/players are abnormally difficult outs. Dame has proven himself to be that type of player. Giannis (if healthy) put up 50 in a finals close out game. Middleton and Bobby (with lots of help from Holliday) willed the Bucks into the finals in 2021. How about we wait to see what happens instead of pronouncing this team dead?
  3. I wasn't able to watch the whole game myself, but from what I saw, he came out and put them in a hole, then got everyone else involved.
  4. The games have always had a sense of humor though, especially New Vegas.
  5. To me, the atmosphere and style is spot on, but I have seen a lot of chatter on the internet about more serious fans who have issues with the show. To me, its basically Westworld set in the Fallout universe. I'm all in on that.
  6. Felt the need to share this:
  7. Of course, the only thing I know is that I know nothing, but the last bull run did seem to end prematurely for a variety of possible reasons. Perhaps this "pre-run" is just a correction?
  8. Haven't even looked at my portfolio for months, so fun to start checking again last week. I'm all in on ETH and will stay that way through this cycle.
  9. This is the biggest take away from me. Happy he can rehab with familiar faces/locals both for him, and for the prospects of recovery.
  10. I'm tired, so I used ChatGPT pulled together my random thoughts: The Brewers having Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff for 5 years, plus Freddy Peralta, and only getting something like a 1-7 postseason record out of it is very disappointing. COVID hit at the worst possible time, potentially disrupting their development and MLB innings buildup. Despite this, moving on was, in my opinion, the right call. It'll be interesting to see how COVID's shortened seasons with young pitchers will be analyzed in the future. There's also a silver lining. The unique challenges presented by COVID could offer insights into which players to target moving forward-- namely older prospects, especially if held back for younger options. On paper, Hall has the makings of an elite pitcher if he's backed by better analytics. Then there's Ortiz, who, at a minimum, can provide elite defense at SS and has been forgotten within the best minor league system in baseball. I'm inclined to give the Brewers FO the benefit of the doubt here as they have had a lot of success with these types of players in the past. I get the frustration, but I'm also excited to see the outcome.
  11. If only we could apply this logic to other coaches within the state of WI...
  12. Wait, what are you looking at to see that our Defense was #10 in the NFL?
  13. How is that not a coaching problem? Seems like something a coach could remedy by putting him in a better position to succeed.
  14. These last few weeks have been really difficult to watch. Its been like a train crash you could see happening from miles out. I'm not going to defend Jaire, but even at his most ridiculousness, he wasn't passing blame, just being stupid. He's what you interview draft picks for, accountability. He said he could have played better, amongst a bunch of other stupid things. LaFleur is a "young" coach, but he's also 44, old enough to know how a successful organization works. I'm starting to wonder more and more about the overall structure of the organization, and the fact that we have to speculate is a problem considering many of us own stock in the team.
  15. A couple things off the top of my head. I remember a couple players making comments about the wrong call on that end of the half TD to TB 2 years ago. I seem to remember some of the vets approaching him last year to explain that they wanted to play more man and press as the scheme was not working. Barry listened, but the fact that his players had to ask him to change the scheme is telling.
  16. I don't see those as the 2 options or ends of the spectrum for the Brewers. Its either sign early at a discount, or sell at 5 years and get picks to constantly be refreshing the talent pool and maintaining flexibility.
  17. I'm on Pacific Time and even I was rubbing my eyes this morning!
  18. Great win last night!
  19. Anything can happen, but the odds of producing 2 top 10 pitchers again has to be very small.
  20. FWIW, I felt safer in the nice neighborhood's of Mexico City than in most US downtowns. It is a really interesting city in terms of the variance in quality of life.
  21. How did it go? I have a 4 and 2.5 year old and can't imagine them making it more than 45 minutes at a theater.
