  1. Why is Turang not getting the same defensive recognition from Fangraphs as from pretty much every other defensive metric (as well as the eye test)?
  2. Wow, good call.
  3. I feel like you see multiples come out all the time, but typically with an injury situation. In this case, Hook wanted to talk about approach to the next batter and Weeks wanted to address the defensive scheme. It was allowed. It didn't work. I assume it has happened before.
  4. Who could have seen this coming?!
  5. I could see them targeting a SP who is very effective the first 2 times through the order but struggles with the third. Assuming everyone gets healthy at the right time, they have plenty of hard throwers to round out the last half of game out of the bullpen.
  6. Being a diabetic sounds really rough. I'm sorry you guys have to go through all that. That being said, I'm not sure I follow the logic that a condition that causes things to heal slower wouldn't have an impact on a MLB player trying to make it through 162 games. I think a lot of times "spot" injuries, like a strain, are more likely to happen with tired muscles. If he recovers slower, I could easily see that leading to more injuries. I'm not a doctor though, just my 2 cents. I agree that you can't 100% blame it on anything though.
  7. Cubs, your pullpen...woof
  8. Dude, this team had Robin Yount and the early years of Gary Sheffield.
  9. I don't think MU has ever had an issue spending money on their Mens BB program at the same level as the other big programs.
  10. I don't see a scenario where Chourio goes to AAA. From top to bottom (Mark A to Pat M) they have said over and over again its his time to learn at the MLB level. I don't know that I agree or disagree, but the organization has been very clear in their stance. They have also shown that, when healthy, Mitchell is going to play. The obvious move is to play the kids over relatively old Perkins, but that is tough given how he has been playing and that this franchise operated on speedy outfielders figuring it out later under Doug Melvin. I really wish they could get Yelich to buy into 1b and DH. His defense isn't bad, but we are beyond lucky to have 5 elite upside defensive MLB CFs-- Perkins, Frelick, Chourio, Michell, Wiemer.
  11. This is random. I've been mitigating family health issues that have resulted in me flying Delta-- California to Florida somewhat regularly. Is it weird that coming back my tradition is now to catch some sleep by watching Band of Brothers? While subject matter is uncomfortable, its somehow comfortable....like an old man falling asleep to a war movie. I wonder what the other passengers think.
  12. Outside of a pinned game thread where I have to wade through hot takes about individual pitches, there's not much content besides mega threads like 2024 MLB Miscellaneous News with 167 replies. I get one here once every couple of days, I'm not going to open that thread and try to find my way through it. I hate Reddit, but honestly the Brewers forum there is becoming easier to use for infrequent posters... Glad this was posed, I enjoyed the article.
  13. Alright, I will be less snarky and more engaging. My issue with your initial post was that when you make statements like "never" or "nobody" you are almost always immediately wrong. In fact, you are wrong here because you know me through he internet, and I do think the Bucks will win this series. You can say you don't think they will win, or the national media is pro Indiana, but instead you went scorched earth, which adds nothing to the conversation. The Bucks and Celtics are both 1-1 with the Bucks missing their best player and the Heat missing their best player. I feel as though there is some unpredictability in the playoffs and certain players show up more when the lights are brightest. I hate clichés, especially in other sports, but in the NBA some teams/players are abnormally difficult outs. Dame has proven himself to be that type of player. Giannis (if healthy) put up 50 in a finals close out game. Middleton and Bobby (with lots of help from Holliday) willed the Bucks into the finals in 2021. How about we wait to see what happens instead of pronouncing this team dead?
  14. I wasn't able to watch the whole game myself, but from what I saw, he came out and put them in a hole, then got everyone else involved.
  15. The games have always had a sense of humor though, especially New Vegas.
  16. To me, the atmosphere and style is spot on, but I have seen a lot of chatter on the internet about more serious fans who have issues with the show. To me, its basically Westworld set in the Fallout universe. I'm all in on that.
  17. Felt the need to share this:
  18. Of course, the only thing I know is that I know nothing, but the last bull run did seem to end prematurely for a variety of possible reasons. Perhaps this "pre-run" is just a correction?
  19. Haven't even looked at my portfolio for months, so fun to start checking again last week. I'm all in on ETH and will stay that way through this cycle.
  20. This is the biggest take away from me. Happy he can rehab with familiar faces/locals both for him, and for the prospects of recovery.
  21. I'm tired, so I used ChatGPT pulled together my random thoughts: The Brewers having Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff for 5 years, plus Freddy Peralta, and only getting something like a 1-7 postseason record out of it is very disappointing. COVID hit at the worst possible time, potentially disrupting their development and MLB innings buildup. Despite this, moving on was, in my opinion, the right call. It'll be interesting to see how COVID's shortened seasons with young pitchers will be analyzed in the future. There's also a silver lining. The unique challenges presented by COVID could offer insights into which players to target moving forward-- namely older prospects, especially if held back for younger options. On paper, Hall has the makings of an elite pitcher if he's backed by better analytics. Then there's Ortiz, who, at a minimum, can provide elite defense at SS and has been forgotten within the best minor league system in baseball. I'm inclined to give the Brewers FO the benefit of the doubt here as they have had a lot of success with these types of players in the past. I get the frustration, but I'm also excited to see the outcome.
  22. If only we could apply this logic to other coaches within the state of WI...
