  1. I don't see the need to build the order around Yelich anymore. I would consider batting Turang or Chourio in the 3rd spot. Everyone on the team is fast, so get your best hitters as many ABs as possible at the top of the order.
  2. He was the first time I learned about pitchers who are "effectively wild." He would probably do well with the current team's defense. Only other comment I have is that I'm sad to see no mention of Yoho, but also not surprised.
  3. Is that really a breakout for Turang? It seems like it would be more of a continuation of last year.
  4. It really shows the sense of speed that they don't capture on the still cameras.
  5. Its amazing. I didn't know I needed this!
  6. Dude, thank you. This is why I still try to keep up on this site.
  7. Thanks, how did you find that?
  8. How high up the rankings did Frelick, Weimer, and Mitchell get? I don't remember reading much about Weimer so it was surprising when he had a decent early year. Otherwise, I'd say the success rate between Frelick and Mitchell has been good outside of injuries. Either way, this is anecdotal and looking at a small sample.
  9. Memories unlocked: In December 2003, the Brewers traded Sexson along with pitcher Shane Nance and a player to be named later (Noochie Varner) to the Arizona Diamondbacks for infielders Junior Spivey, Craig Counsell, Lyle Overbay, catcher Chad Moeller, and pitchers Chris Capuano and Jorge de la Rosa.
  10. I remember hearing about the Brewers purchasing batting eye training equipment before most other teams back in the 2010s. I don't know if they continue to stay ahead of the curve in terms of the latest equipment and training aids, but I would be willing to bet they have invested in proprietary software and analytics beyond what other teams have built. After that, they seem to be ahead in getting the data back to their pitchers and making it useful.
  11. On paper, this would seem to be a better return than we got for Burnes. Hard to not be happy in terms of value to the org.
  12. I hate to say it, but I don't see us as a title contender with the Blue Jays and Dodgers getting even better this off season.
  13. I live in LA and they don't look at it this way at all. They aren't competing with the other teams in the 2025 season, they are competing against historically great teams and dynasties. They don't care that it came from financial loop holes as opposed to drafting or however the '27 (do we have to start putting a 19 in front of that soon?) Yankees got so good.
  14. Is the full list somewhere? These lists are always super subjective, but I would expect to see Turang and Churio on these somewhere.
  15. Is your argument that any player on the team should be available to play any position when called upon or not play at all?
  16. This makes more sense than how I initially read the argument. Despite what the advanced stats say for Sal, I could see him adding some power in the next 3 years and eventually hitting 20+ HRs in a season. Not to say the ball jumps off his bat like Braun's, but I would agree he is closer to Braun in tools than Collins. We have so many solid above average players in their mid 20s, its exciting to see this team continues to develop as these guys get to their 27/28 yo seasons.
  17. IMO its stilly to compare Sal to Collins. One is 25 and a first round pick while the other had a breakout year at 27 as a 9th round pick. Besides their height, they are very different "prospects."
  18. The OQ is a great system for the Brewers, its like a franchise tag but cheaper than the prime NFL positions. If Woody accepts for next year at $22k, we know they can temporarily increase payroll and its not a long term commitment. Its pretty likely he would provide more than that in value.
  19. Taking away how angry the imbalance in MLB makes me, this has to be one of the best WS of all time.
  20. As someone who lives in LA near Dodgers stadium, 3pm during the workday is horrendous for local fans. I get it, you like to go to bed at 11 and get your 7-8 hours. And I have young kids who couldn't stay up past 8. But we do have the technology to record and rewatch, so just go to bed and watch it in the morning if that's what works best for you.
  21. I must be in the minority. I LOVE this game of attrition and how it affects the rest of the series.
  22. I could see the Mets, Dodgers, Yankees, and Phillies all lining up to give me more than that.
  23. I know everyone rips on Ortiz's offense, but I'm not so sure Monasterio has the arm to get that force out at home or turn the DP on Betts. His defense may have saved 2 runs alone last night.
  24. Its playoff baseball and good pitchers can dominate a game. It doesn't mean our offense is falling apart, we just ran into a buzz saw...and yet still almost stole a win. If we win tomorrow, in my mind its still a coin toss.
