  1. It order to have a chance to win the game, you need to get an at-bat to score runs. It was clear the game was on the line and Wise wasn't the guy to have out there. I'm convinced Cordero needs to be used to atleast give us a shot to win the game. Without him pitching in extra innings with guys on base and no outs, we basically have no shot. Bottom line, IMO, is Cordero needed to be out there in the 9th, and at the very least the 10th. I have no doubt if Cordero comes in we get to bat in the 11th.
  2. They look like double A uni's. I kind of like their color scheme as is, well atleast better than those.
  3. Quote from Matt Wise in the JS. This is the guy we want out there in the 10th inning in a tie game when we need a win to keep pace on the 19th of September?
  4. I can't believe Maddux or Sveum never lean over and whisper in Ned's ear, "Dude, what are you doing?"
  5. That's just depressing. I was hoping a good night's sleep would somewhat get me over last night's game. It hasn't. He's a foolish man. Fine, trot Wise out there for the 10th, whatever I suppose, what's the difference at this point, but when he walks the first batter, please bring in Cordero. I thought Ned had given me reason within the last week that he had turned the page. Particularly Saturday's game against the Reds at home. Short leashes with the pitchers, etc. Then it all came crashing down last night. I haven't liked Ned for a year and a half, but truth be told, I thought if they have a winning record this year he should atleast get one more year to try to get to the playoffs. Not anymore. I don't care if we finish 83-79, 84-78, I don't care if we make the playoffs, he should be gone, he makes me sick. Most definitely NAY.
  6. Great list DJ43, unfortunately, the first one still takes the cake.
  7. Just unbelievable. Ned, you need to get to the next inning in order to have a chance to win the game. Odds are that Coco will give you a better chance to get to the next inning than Matt Wise will. It doesn't matter if you save Coco for the save situation, if there never is a save situation. Coco > rest of our bullpen. Matt Wise recently < Joe Winkelsas. Bottom line Ned, you say you are managing every game like it's the last of the season, yet you let our best reliever rot in the bullpen. You did, however, have him warming up atleast. Granted, him and Bill Castro might have made that decision on their own, because it actually made sense. It's not that we're trying to manage from our couches in the dugout Ned. The vast majority would agree that Coco even should have been in for the 9th. You had a chance to redeem yourself since we made it through the 9th by bringing him in for the 10th. Inexplicably, the commercials ended and I see Matt Wise on the mound. Then he walked a batter, I waited for you to go to the mound to get the old Wiser. It didn't happen. We know we got Yosted. Your team knows they got Yosted. Coco and Wise know they got Yosted.
  8. Whoops. I posted twice in this thread within a week and didn't seem to remember doing so. I guess I have two chances to be right then?
  9. I prefer the roof open unless it's really cold too, but oh well, I also prefer to be dry if it rains so I guess it's give and take. And by all means, if it means helping the Crew win, keep it closed when it's 90.
  10. I don't know if Berman has done it, but I think I've already (unfortunately) heard it several times. For as much as I don't really like ESPN, I still find it hard to turn away from baseball tonight, regardless of how poor some of their analysts are. Not trying to put a knock on Davey Nelson, but some of those guys on BBTN are worse than him.
  11. I'm heading out in a few, and by the time I get to the game I better see a Cubs loss on the scoreboard.
  12. I'm going tonight, I think I'm in the bleachers somewhere, I'm planning on catching Ryan Braun's 1st, 2nd and 3rd home run balls on the night.
  13. I agree Sheets is one of the slower members of the staff getting the ball to the plate but it's not like runners don't steal easily on almost any of our pitchers when Estrada is behind the dish. Some of it is the pitcher's responsibility, but he's just not good at throwing out runners. The problem is outside of the Miller, Rivera and Rottino, none of which are spectacular, we have no other options right now so it is what it is.
  14. Not going to lie, I don't see the same importance on the first two years as other people do. I had GPA's between 3.2 and 3.5 my first four semesters and went out plenty, and in all honesty, really didn't study much at all. Atleast for me it was all core classes and really it wasn't alot of work to get A's and B's in those. I guess it's a personal thing, go to your classes and then decide how much work you're going to need to put into them to get decent grades, but I wouldn't tell you to just focus entirely on studying and getting good grades.
  15. I hate when I have to leave for class right after that new iPod commercial is on. I don't know who the singer is or what the song is, nor do I like the song, but it will be in my head the entire class.
  16. I have night class 630-9 and am quite bummed, but here's to locking up atleast a .500 roadtrip tonight.
  17. If you camp out for opening day tickets in February, make sure your friend isn't going to wimp out a 1:30 in the morning, after already being there for 9.5 hours.
  18. Yeah, if they don't make it, and you don't plan on getting the tix for next year, it could be considered a bit of a waste. On the other hand, $150 plus the cost of the strips/tix, is going to be cheaper than buying them off eBay, etc. Of course, if they don't make it, you save money from not getting the strips and maybe you decide to go ahead with the tix for next year. Either that, or worst case, they get swept in the NLDS and you paid $150 plus tix for one game, assuming they'll be away with the lesser record. Ah...the choices that need to be made when having a team in playoff contention. Is there a cutoff for putting the deposits down to get playoff tix? I would imagine there should be but I haven't seen anything yet...
  19. Brewers, no question for me. Not a huge football guy anyways, plus it's the first game of the season for the Packers and the Brewers are tied for first place with three-ish weeks to go.
  20. I think it's agreed that our division is relatively poor. That being the case, I think these next three-ish weeks have the potential to be the best three weeks in my life as a baseball fan or the most depressing. And I can't wait either way. I have a night class on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights and if the Brewers continue to play meaningful games the next few weeks you better believe I'll have the earphones for my radio running up my sleeve at the very least, and most likely won't be making an appearance in either of those classes on the 25th or 26th.
  21. Honestly, I think I'm plenty happy that we have them (Braun and Fielder) under our control for as long as we do. Six or so years of those two in our lineup should be a blast. That said, I doubt they'll be here any longer than that. Hardy and Hart give me the feeling that they would stay here as long as we'd have them stay. Neither will command the monster contracts that Prince and Braun will probably be seeing, assuming this sort of production continues until their free agency of course.
  22. This would be one heck of a time to start winning in Cincy and Pittsburgh...so if Dave Bush can turn it around tomorrow at GABP, hopefully the rest of the Crew will follow suit.
  23. Yeah, this whole 13 out of the next 16 games being on the road could be interesting. Now would be an awesome time to turn out one of those rare winning road trips.
