Guessing we make a decision pretty quickly on him since we should trade him, can only deal with one team now, and have already claimed Jimenez off of waivers from Philly to replace him in the pen.

I am absolutely fine with taking a flier on anyone over the course of the final six weeks of this season to see if we can find anything useful going forward.

I know he's a rookie but I am more excited about tonight's game (and seeing him play) than I have been for any other game in quite awhile this season.

I believe Chuck Crim is their bullpen coach as well.

I agree that Cravy is way overmatched, but there was absolutely nothing lost and no harm in trying him out. Now we know what we have for the short-term future and he is likely not a part of that plan. The cool part about lost seasons is that we can afford to do that now instead of in a pennant race down the road.

An article also calling the timing "weird" from the Los Angeles Times today: http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/dodgersnow/la-sp-dn-dodgers-why-add-ron-roenicke-now-20150817-story.html Out of the box thought: Perhaps the Dodgers value the relationship that RR has with Greinke and feel like that would be somehow useful for them in their playoff push? No idea, pure speculation.

Maybe he personalizes for all adults? No idea, just throwing theories out there.

If anyone has any extras, I am looking for three passes to the club (Metavante Club or whatever it's called now). I already have tickets to the actual game, but am going with older people who may prefer to be up there and in some air conditioning for an inning or two. I'm willing to meet pretty much wherever in the Milwaukee area tomorrow, just tell me how much you want for them. Thanks in advance.

I'm happy that he landed another job but a bit surprised that he did so on another coaching staff in the same season that he was a manager for another organization.

At least Garza may have upped his trade value a tad.

    Sums up my position perfectly.

I saw him start a AAA game back in 1993. Back when I was young and single. Man, that was a long time ago. I actually even remember him even earlier... pitching for Fort Wayne (I think) in A ball for the Twins and seeing them play in Beloit. I even remember getting his autograph before the game. I was in grade school at the time. Man, time flies.

I hate these non-televised games. Despite the horrendous team on the field this season it's always nice to have the game on in the background during a workday.
  14. DocLuna7
Yeah, he definitely would ruin any chance we have at the playoffs if we throw him out there every five days.

If there is ever a time to try and see what guys like Thornburg can do in the starting rotation, the second half of this miserable season is probably the time to do it. I am all for releasing Lohse at this point and seeing what guys like TT can do.
  16. DocLuna7
So is he being assigned to the Big League club to take Broxton's spot?

This is truly a fascinating evening.
  18. DocLuna7
Happy if this is not happening.
  19. DocLuna7
    3 year deal?
  20. DocLuna7
I really dislike this deal. We can HOPE that Wheeler reverts back to form after recovering from his injury but for this to be the centerpiece of a deal for someone who I believe was our best player (and who is not a FA going into next season) is not the return that I was hoping for. At all.

Weird question, but I am wondering if anyone on this board happens to know where bands stay when they visit Alpine Valley. I've been a DMB fan for a long time and am hoping to try and get a picture or an autograph. I've never tried getting autos from a band before and have no idea where they stay when they come to Alpine. Any ideas?

    Nice hustle Brauny. Geez.
  24. DocLuna7
FWIW Brett Favre was traded to the Jets.

Hmmm.... good poll. Is this on Epic Rap Battles of History by chance? My vote is for Elvis with a kudos to MJ for some pretty stellar dance moves.
