    I am guessing that this is simply posturing or wishful thinking on the part of his agent to see if any team bites. I am fairly sure that Counsell is realistic enough to look at his numbers from last year and realize that the writing is on the wall.

    I have COAs for most. A few were ones that I got in person. I know that I do not have one for the Robert Brooks, got that myself at the Miller Park groundbreaking actually.     I think that no matter what happens 2011 will be a memorable year. However, I don't think that there is any way to really make the comparison until we know just where we finish things this season. If the team does happen to win the WS it would have to be more memorable than '82 inmho.

    Not to hijack the magic number thread, but these last few posts caused me to look up Etchebarren's player page on baseballreference.com. It looks like he only played in four games with the Brewers and had six ABs after we purchased his contract from the Angels. Does anyone know the story with this? Did he just retire shortly after being purchased?

    As a kid, I managed to go to all three games as well. Without looking it up, I am pretty sure that he got one hit each night of the series to prolong the drama. What an awesome time and great memory. Being too young for '82 it's the loudest I can remember hearing County Stadium.

    Did you get the 16x20 made yourself at a Walgreens type place? I have been looking to buy/make the same thing and wasn't sure how great the quality of the 16x20 would turn out from an internet pic.

    For what it's worth, I have always heard that Selig handled the Molitor negotiations directly. Trying to low-ball him because of his age turned out to be a fairly flawed strategy especailly for an AL team who still had a need for a competent DH.

    I am also wondering if bringing back Felipe Lopez might be an option after the Nashville season ends. I know he was DFA'd, but perhaps RR would like yet another veteran to help out in Sept.

    My question might have been answered somewhere in this thread, but does anyone know where the Brewers will be staying in CHI in a few weeks? I am hoping to head down there for a few games and would love to try and get a few autographs at the hotel after the game. Thanks in advance.

    I agree with thablingster on #17, since at first I thought he was Saito. Do we know for sure Rickie made the trip? Fairly sure that I saw Weeks during the game yesterday on FSN.

    It was Bando's own fault Eldred got hurt. He's the one that allowed Garnerto single handedly destroy his arm. After the first time he was allowed to throw 140 pitches, Bando should've told Garner "Do that again and you're fired."Without doing any research at all, I am wondering how often throwing this many pitches took place still in the '90's. Not that common sense shouldn't have told Garner to remove Eldred way prior to 140, but just curious.

    When they showed the guys coming into the stadium in Houston today I am pretty sure that I saw both Saito and his interpreter dressed up in cowboy gear. Awesome.
