  1. 9 K's for Cameron in his last 15 at bats. That's awesome. Even Russell Branyan would have hit a home run or two in 15 at bats. Not Cameron though, he's Mr. Dependable.
  2. OK Cameron is only one batter away now. I can feel the K coming this inning!
  3. I hope Mike Cameron gets another chance to strikeout soon.
  4. I just turned off the radio. Check in later.....
  5. They really aren't playing much different than they did in St. Louis. Difference at Busch was the Cardinals have a terrible bullpen that let the Brewers back into the games.
  6. It's the Brewer way. They are above the game; don't the Cubs realize what good hitters the Brewers are?
  7. You can bet Villy won't be coming in until it's too late. He's their best reliever, so it's important he's "fresh" for the Atlanta series. Clever how Ned is "reserving" a couple lefty bats for late in the game. No sense is stacking lefties against a tough righty. Then you'd have to bench more than two starters for a game and their feelings might be hurt. Glad to see Kendall is playing again today. It would be silly to give a slumping catcher a day off after a night game.
  8. Good observations. A little while back Russell Branyan played most games.
  9. This seemed to be the strategy against them the first 6 weeks of the season. Either the Brewers were able to overcome and adjust or they just started playing crappy teams who couldn't execute for the second 6 weeks of the season. Braun is the only guy who can thrive in this league swinging at every pitch. Prince is getting a bad rap from fans, but he's the only one patient enough to be willing to take a walk. Problem is, the hitters that follow swing at those bad pitches, so they'll just keep walking Prince. It infuriates me that Bill Hall would just now be realizing what is happening. He has more experience in the league than most hitters on this roster. He should have been making these adjustments a year ago.
  10. That's a great idea! I wonder if KC is shopping him. Been one of my favorite underrated players for years. He'd be a very good option for next year's starting CF'er. He's actually signed through 2011.
  11. Right. So they are roughly an average offense team, 8th in the league in runs scored. I think we can all admit we expected the offense to be better, one of the best in the league. I still think the Brewers are a very good team, but this series has exposed weaknesses that have lingered all year. I have thought all year they were an even match for the Cubs, maybe even better. But this week the Cubs look like a much better, more solid team. You can't blame these losses on Ned; the Brewers put their best against the Cubs' best and have been whupped.
  12. I think this series has showcased the Brewers' weaknesses, things that have been lingering all year. Too many hitters with horrible approaches, inconsistent defense, bullpen that struggles to keep the game close when behind, and a manager that is often slow to react and doesn't always use the right players to put them in a position to win every game.
  13. I don't think you can assume Pujols will break down. He's a big fella, but at 6'3" and 210, that's hardly a recipe for creaky knees and an achy back. There's a lot left to his career but we may be watching one of the 4 or 5 greatest right handed hitters of all time, if not the greatest. He's in Rogers Hornsby territory.
  14. Stop watching espn and your life will become much more stress free.
  15. The brewers are not a very good offensive team. It's true they are 3rd in slugging, but they are middle of the pack or lower in batting average, on base average, runs scored. There's not a lot they do particularly well with the bat...
  16. Channel 669 is now labelled as FSN Wisconsin on my guide. Channel 642 is listed as not existing. So, this could be a good thing. DirecTV may finally be adding FSN Wisconsin as it's own channel. A better question is why the ESPN coverage is blacked out on DirecTv in my area, but the local cable network is carrying it and FSN!
  17. The problem is there are too many players at each position to vote for, and no criteria by which to judge them. Riight or wrong teh Cy Young tends to go to the pitcher with the best combination of victories, winning pct, and ERA. MVP goes to the hitter on a competitive, usually playoff bound, team who has the highest RBI numbers. There is no stat to point to for Gold Glove, so the votes are split among several players. Players like Palmeiro win the Gold Glove but don't even have a majority of the votes at their position. The best way to do it would be a two tier voting system, like the Academy Awards. A group of 3-5 players are nominated for each position. Then the coaches/managers or whoever vote among the nominated players at each position.
  18. Laynce Nix is having a good year in Nashville too. I can't believe these two have no value as major leaguers. But they are getting too old to be handed an everyday major league job. Their best hope is do something like Kapler or Dillon; get with a team, have a great Spring, make the roster on Opening Day and never let up.
