  1. Here is a detailed draft profile if it helps: https://www.celticsblog.com/2013/6/18/4442950/2013-nba-draft-prospect-profile-giannis-antetokounmpo-adetokoubo-adetokunbo-celtics
  2. I just decided to pony up and buy a mesh network (Google Nest WiFi router and one access point). Now I am getting the speeds Spectrum is advertising both on my wired connection and my wireless devices (if they are capable) - 225mbps. My max local phone speed is about 425mbps. I have no idea why I need that much speed now, but we are set for the future. I also had trouble getting the Bally Sports app working on my Roku. You have to create an account and login. The is one page that ends in /account and another that ends in /activate. It's annoying...but it did at least wok for me
  3. I just heard Rock talk about a near miss on a foul ball. Isn't a near miss technically a near hit?
  4. I met my wife online (on a free website, OKCupid), so online dating is definitely possible. After not having much initial success, I decided to change my strategy up a bit by seeing what my competition was like by creating a fake profile. I copied the profiles of a couple different women that I was attracted to into "my" profile. I then found "my" profile picture from someone random from my parent's trip to France and I was all set to be an imposter. I figured someone from France should be safe to use. Oh my is all I have to say. You get soooooo many emails and most of them are complete garbage. My worst was a visiting professor from Alabama that was saying he was in town for just the weekend while at a conference, yikes. My guess is he wasn't a professor or from Alabama. Most of the emails were just one liners or men talking about themselves. You could totally tell it was copied and pasted. It was actually kind of fun to be an imposter. After that little experiment, I successfully learned what not to do...and made my actual profile. In addition to this, I learned what to say (and not say) in an email. One last thing, I found that I had the most success when my profile was new, so I made new profiles every couple weeks. They were free, so why not? All of a sudden I was getting responses and even dates. For me, I found that asking to go on a date in the second email was the best approach. There were a few weeks where I had 3 dates with 3 different women on 3 nights in a row. That was really taxing for someone that is more introverted. The people at the mini golf course probably thought I really loved mini golf.
  5. People can also me a hypocrite too because I plan on using my Spectrum email address from high school that still works with my parent's account. I'm surprised I still remembered the password. It's kind of like going on a hunger strike while eating meals when nobody is looking. Anyway, I'm choosing to stay with YTTV because I think it is a better product in terms of DVRing and overall functionality with our current TV setup. I probably should cancel YTTV if I really wanted to stick it to YTTV for not giving me the Brewers. A cloud DVR with unlimited storage and no additional cable boxes is worth it to me. With Spectrum TV, I was also pretty frustrated when we moved from an apartment to a house and we lost like half of the channels I watched because I was on an "old" plan and they now needed me to have two tiers instead of one. They said if I didn't move then I could have stayed on the plan I had. Makes no sense to me as an existing loyal customer. Their customer service was awful too. I wish YTTV would have a regional sports package similar to AT&T's. This way I wouldn't have to worry about losing this channel. Spectrum also jacked the internet rate up more at the start of this year, so I feel they will just keep jacking this price up as they lose more TV subscribers and money will continue to be less of an issue. They just went low to gain market share. When I switched to YTTV, Spectrum really tried to lure me back in. I pointed out to the rep that their "bundling" savings between having cable+TV essentially canceled out with the "Broadcast TV Surcharge" fee that they charged. Do people even see this number as it is buried on the bill? I was clueless until I dug into it. They said this would would be even more savings if I also added phone to the plan. I probably could have pushed more for a introductory rate, but I just didn't want to mess with all this, so I said thanks but no thanks. When I called YTTV with a question I had, they were really good about it. I just feel cared about more with YTTV. I don't know if that is the reality.
  6. Yesterday was the day. It was probably one of the most difficult things I have done recently. All the advice everyone gave was definitely helpful and made it more manageable. I even vouched to be a reference for him. Who thought a Brewer's forum could provide this support? I felt guilty beforehand and even more guilty afterwards. That is something I never want to experience again. Last night was especially tough on me. Luckily Coyotes hockey helped me through it. I can't imagine what he is going through. What I do know is he was completely blindsided. He though he was improving since our last meeting (which parts have...but others seem to get worse). I guess the lesson learned is first impressions last and they are difficult to change...especially if they are the owners of the company. To help him bridge the employment gap, we are giving him 30 days of optional employment after yesterday plus a month pay after his last day. He is also getting his remaining vacation paid out. If anyone wants to see the end of the hockey game...pretty crazy spin o rama pass. They tied it up with 0.7 seconds left in the third and won in the shootout. Coyotes now have 3 straight wins on the Blues home ice.
  7. Thanks for all the advice everyone. It's going to be tough...but it's the right thing to do for our team.
  8. Unfortunately they use your ip address...so those games would be blacked out. I've had something similar happen to me in reverse. I was trying to watch the Coyotes in AZ on NHL.TV...and I couldn't. The place I was staying did not carry the channel they were on. Blackout rules are outdated and need to be updated to current times. It's kind of like having the a city speed limit of 12mph for horseless carriages so the horses don't get spooked (actual law in Connecticut from 1901) in today's society.
  9. It's really bugging me that I have to let someone go at work. I have never done anything like this before...nor is it a skill I want to improve. I've done a lot of difficult things in my life, but this is probably one of the most difficult. Managing people is something I thought I would never do and it isn't something I really enjoy. When the owners of the company ask you be in manager/leader/mentor role, you don't really have much of a choice, so I did it. What makes it so tough is I have worked with them for roughly 5 years and I would consider them a friend. However, when it comes to the work, they just aren't a very good fit with our group and we figured it was just time to rip the band-aid off. I have done everything in my power to help them improve and it just isn't working out. My guess is this must be what it feels like to break-up with someone (I've only ever dated/married one person, so I wouldn't know). I know they aren't a Brewers fan, so I should be pretty safe writing this on this forum. Any advice/insight into this situation is greatly appreciated.
  10. That fangraphs article is really interesting. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like even the professionals can't explain on what is going on either. He touched on some things I was talking about...but did a way better job of explaining it and also added more depth. I've got Burnes if fantasy...and I am going to feast as long as I can. Something just seems off looking at the numbers. Maybe it just can't be explained. These are people playing a game and there are more factors than what can be accounted for.
  11. Sorry...this is coming from a non mobile friendly website as the Brewerfan Tapatalk is still down. I miss Brewerfan Tapatalk. It has at least been working for the political forum. According to statcast, last year Corbin Burnes was both excellent and terrible at the same time. He struck out nearly 30% of the batters he faced....but he also had a barrel % and xslg that was more towards the bottom of the league. Translation: when Corbin got hit last year...he got hit hard. That isn't necessarily "luck". Stats like xfip look at strikeouts and fb rates but do not look at exit velocity...which may be why he had lower xfip. This is why the eye test is important. Even if you don't understand statcast data. Just check out his percentile rankings between 2019 and 2020. Strikeout data is virtually identical compared to a lot of his other stats. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/corbin-burnes-669203 2020 Statcast says he maybe regress a little bit from where he is now...but I think part of it is he is a different pitcher and has changed his arsenal. It looks like he nearly abandoned his 4 seamer in favor of a sinker and cutter. This season appears to be no fluke. Stay tuned.
  12. It's bugging me that it is opening day and the Brewerfan forum app doesn't work.
  13. Good news. I just heard from Tapatalk support and they said the forum's plugin needs attention and they are going to contact the mods to try to get this resolved. Looking forward to being able to use the app again!
  14. Sorry to hear you are having the same issues AZ. It's guess it's good to hear I am not alone. I just contacted the Tapatalk support to see if they can help, but I am guessing that a moderator will probably have to step in and submit a help desk ticket to get this resolved.
  15. It appears something has changed...but now it say I don't have access to the forum through the app. See image. Is anyone else having this issue?
  16. I've been getting the following error when trying to use the Tapatalk App. "Network error, please try again later. (get_config)" Googling this issue, I'm guessing it has something to do with security. On my Chrome browser, I see a triangle with an exclamation point followed by "Not secure". I wonder if these are related. Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks, A side note, the Brewerfan Political Scene works just fine on the app.
  17. When possible, I've been using tap and pay (Google Pay) to avoid touching the card machines. Come to think of it, tap and pay is a little misleading...because my phone never actually touches the machine.
  18. I really feel bad for Jimmy. I'm guessing he made 6 million or so after taxes in his career. I'm not sure how much he has spent of that...but I'm guessing he is not going to be living on the streets. Playing devil's advocate here, how sure are we that he wouldn't have hurt his shoulder later? It could have been partially injured and that slide was the final blow. Maybe he could have hurt it pitching in game 1 of the WS? As much as I hate these freak injuries, the strategy of pitcher's batting is a much better game. To me, getting rid of pitcher's batting is like getting rid of the tall metal slides of my youth. You still can find them...but they are becoming extinct.
  19. Don't forget about this! Especially at about 13:15.
  20. My 93 year old grandma calls it a davenport. She also calls the kitchen counter a "cubbert" what I think she is meaning to say cupboard.
  21. It does if you do a Statcast search and set the team. However it is not the most user friendly. I use woba (actual) and xwoba (which is expected based on Statcast data) Pirates: 0.358/0.328 Brewers: 0.274/0.278 According to this data, it seems something happened in his time with the Brewers. However, this data only tells what happened and is indicative of future performance. These are all professional athletes and are all capable of getting "hot" for short stretches. The elite ones have an ability to stay "hot" all season. The 16 million dollar question is it sustainable? One team thought it was. For me, I still am skeptical of his unusually low babip compared to his career. His ERA/xFIP shows this. Because xwoba and xFIP are drawing different conclusions, I would probably say that it is not sustainable.
  22. That's funny because I also grew up in Janesville and I learned it as drinking fountain. The only person I remember that called it a "bubbler" was my dad who was from Sheboygan. From what I recall, you are wiser than me in terms of years. I wonder if "bubbler" is a word we millennials are unintentionally killing. Maybe it is like the word "parlor" which we now call a living room?
  23. Would something like this work? I have no idea if this is a good one or not as I have never had a use for it. I am just providing a link as a concept. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/aluratek-bluetooth-audio-transmitter-black/6332920.p?skuId=6332920 Edit: I just did a little more research and think this one may be better. It says it can either be continuously charging or the batter should last 8ish hours. https://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver-Simultaneously/dp/B01EHSX28M/?tag=imoreb-20&ascsubtag=UUimUdUnU39712YYwYg

  25. From what I can tell, his FB velocity is 88 up from his career average of 86.6. He has a ground ball rate of 61% which his career is 40%. His K% is up slightly and has yet to walk a batter this year. In addition to this, his xwoba is .180 which is roughly 50 points lower than Hader's. With an unusually low babip from his career average, my prediction is there will may be a less than pleasant correction with the sample getting larger. If he can keep his GB rate where it is, he should be able to keep the homers off the scoreboard which is what killed him last year. Maybe his new role could explain some of these numbers?
