  1. Yep, I'm with you. He's a hypocrite dirtbag. Smell ya later, jerk.
  2. I used an internet site to teach myself... but am having trouble finding what it was. I will re-post later if I can find it. ...and if anyone reads this thread and wants to buy a good but not often used Washburn red acoustic guitar for $100, get in touch with me. I regret buying a red acoustic guitar and want to get a plain wood one. Oops.
  3. Yep, no chance for an extension because of Boras. I will enjoy him while we have him.
  4. Wow that is way too much money for a bullpen pitcher.
  5. Well, I just did a Walking Dead marathon from mid-season 2 to present. Spoilers below... I agree with you guys about Lori's reaction after Rick told her he killed Shane. It made absolutely no sense and was just horribly written. I could not wrap my head around how she could be upset with him when he told her it was self-defense. Also, she pretty much begged him to kill Shane a couple episodes prior by repeatedly telling Rick how dangerous Shane was. Just made no sense at all, I can't believe how horribly that part was written. Michonne IS annoying. That scene with her and Andrea in the zombie-head-trophy-room could've went in a very different direction if Michonne would've just explained what was going on like a normal human being. But she can't do that, because she just stays silent and looks annoyed all the time. That's her "thing" - and it's not interesting - it's obnoxious. And I don't know if it's on purpose or not, but I think they're making the Governor seem too normal so far. I didn't read the comics - just what some of you have said in this thread - and I just think he's not bad enough to be a "bad guy" yet. That may change in the next half of the season. Overall, I don't regret getting back on board with this show because the pacing and action has picked up quite a bit since the first season and a half. As I think Robert mentioned, the great action is keeping me interested despite the bland characters. I don't feel emotionally invested in any way though, because the writing just isn't making me care that much about anyone on the show. I definitely don't see how anyone can call this "moving" television. Not with these characters. On the other hand, I'm totally in to seeing how Daryl and Merle get out of the situation they're in to start the next half of the season. If the action keeps being as good as it has been, I will probably stick around.
  6. We're mid-way through Season 2 right now. Shane just let the barn open and the slaughter occurred. The action has picked up a bit more than I remember in season 1, so hopefully that continues. I won't care when Lori dies either, because they haven't made her likeable in any way.
  7. Say what you will about LOST (I will say that season 1 and the final season were great... not so sure about everything in-between).... but it's an example of great character development, especially the first season with the flashbacks. Those flashbacks helped you get invested into a character, and then you grew to really care about some of them as events unfolded on the island or you learned more about their past. Some of the best character development I've ever seen in a TV show. Oddly enough, one of my critiques about the first season or so of Walking Dead was that it reminded me of the worst parts of LOST... 45 minutes of nothing really happening... then something finally happens JUST to rope you into watching the next episode. And then of course the first 45 minutes of the next episode would be just as dull. Enough people have told me to give it another try - I'm going to get back on the train and try to look past the character thing.
  8. Yeah - it was crowded and annoying. Probably won't go back myself. I almost didn't buy anything, I just wanted to check it out because it was in the clubhouse.
  9. I liked 12 but didn't hit as well as I did in 11. 11 was my first year playing it, and I think I liked the gameplay and hit variety better in 11. There are a lot of SHOULD-BE doubles that I hit in 12 that end up being singles... and it bothers me.
  10. Wow, catching is expensive. Makes me really appreciate what the Brewers have going into next year.
  11. Attended my first clubhouse sale yesterday. Based on the line I waited in I'm guessing they were letting people in before the 5pm time they put on my voucher to get in early. I guess I should've expected it, but the service level of the building sure does smell like sweat! Anyone get any great deals they'd like to share?
  12. I'm strongly considering giving this show another chance this winter. Can someone tell me that they have decent character development now so that I actually care what happens to the people on the show? That was my biggest problem with it. I watched about a season and a half of it, I think. I remember dropping off shortly after that refuge center with that doctor blew up and the blond girl stayed behind. I thought about how that scene was supposed to be emotional because I was supposed to care that she was staying behind and killing herself... but I did not care at all. And I quit shortly afterwards. BUT... a LOT of people have told me that the show got way way better shortly after I stopped watching. And it's tempting me to get back into it. Do you guys agree with that sentiment or no?
  13. sounds interesting to me. gonna have to add it to my christmas list.
  14. Rob Deer was a hitting coach for someone at some point. That always amused me. Career .220 hitter Dale Sveum too... a career .236 hitter.
  15. I agree... the perks for early 20 pack payment are pretty lame. Especially the upgrade vouchers... which don't work on weekends. All my games are on weekends. They'd be great if they were useful on any day.
  16. http://thesaltshakers.com/admin/data/img/uploads/mediumflyer.jpeg Hey guys... we are celebrating our ten year anniversary with a CD release show at the BBC on December 1st. You can listen to the new single here: http://www.thesaltshakers.com or here: If you can't make the show, the songs will be available online after December 1st. Thanks for taking the time to listen! PS- Bikeage, I remember your old band for sure! And beating out Heathrow in a battle o' bands is certainly an accomplishment in my book.
  17. It's funny that I got an email from the brewers today giving me an extension on my opportunity to buy brewer playoff tix... Thanks brewers!
  18. Well... didn't expect them to go undefeated the rest of the way... so I hope the Nats score all their runs today and none on Sunday.
  19. Please please please just keep this going through the weekend. this is so much fun but the games are giving me heart palpitations.
  20. If they don't think Mean Jean is ready, I'd be all for another year of Gonzalez as long as the price was right.
  21. I'm trying to take this ride one series at a time. Meaning that I wouldn't be surprised if we dropped 2 out of 3 against the crappy Mets. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Sorry... I really do enjoy what's going on here and I'm not usually a downer... but we could fall out of this thing at any given moment. Let's take at least 2 of these home games first and worry about the rest later!
  22. I think the "Gallardo isn't a true ace" comment might be the most tired comment on this board over the past five years. He's OUR ace, and with the right rotation around him... This team can win a championship.
  23. Don't want him at all. He has too much baggage, I doubt he's as good over the next five years as he was the last five, and he's a little injury-prone...which will only get worse with age.
  24. You don't like Roenicke, turboRickey? Next thing you know you'll be saying Narveson has no shot at the rotation next season! BREWERS!!!!!
  25. I'm interested in the medallion and county stadium photo. Can you email me pics?
