    I don't want to believe they traded Green for K-Rod. That would be such an awful decision and we need Green now more than ever. Ugh, also sick to my stomach after seeing this news this morning.

    I will be shocked if Green is on that PTBNL list. I highly doubt we end up giving up one of our top prospects for K-Rod. That said, it continues to shock me that Green isn't up with the team yet.

    Wow, there's a lot of pitchers that could hit. Never knew.

    I realize it's very early in his career, but if he's healthy I could definitely see Gallardo going down as the 2nd greatest hitting pitcher.

    I can't even wrap my head around the idea of selling right now, because it's just ridiculous - especially after the Rodriguez trade that just occurred. The NL Central is wide open and it would take a horrible slump for the Brewers not to have a chance going into September. Also, the point about the fanbase revolting is very valid - there is absolutely no way they will sell. It doesn't matter if you think the Brewers are a World Series team or not right now. It is not rare for a not-great team (hi Brewers) to get hot at the right time and end up in the World Series.

    I expect both Greinke and Gallardo to pitch better than they did in the first half, which should make up for Marcum or Wolf or Narveson coming back down to earth. But so far this season, I think 3 pitchers overachieving makes up for Gallardo's slight scuffle, but it doesn't make up for an ace pitching to a 5+ ERA.

    Those projections help. I was going to say that you can only really say that Greinke is underperforming, and maybe Gallardo a little bit. Greinke stands out big time, everyone else is just about where I'd expect them. Marcum/Wolf/Narveson are a little better than I expected (but not much)... Gallardo a little worse than I expected, and Greinke a whole lot worse than I expected. If Greinke starts reguarly pitching 7 innings and giving up 2 or less runs like he's capable of, the team will prosper big time.

    Not a smart move for the Orioles. Based on his track record, you'll be lucky to get 1.5 seasons of healthy baseball from him. Also, the Orioles are loaded at SS in the minors, if I recall. I guess they could use them for trade chips now.

    This is it with McGehee. The K-Rod trade makes me think they're not going to put up with our current 3B or SS for much longer. I think he has a week or so to make a splash or the Taylor Green experiment begins. And I can't wait. I feel for McGehee like anyone else, but we need to win every game we can and we can't just sit on our hands and hope he turns it around at this point.

    I'd prefer Jamey Carroll over Furcal, but I think Furcal can be had for almost nothing. I just think Furcal will end up on the DL and we'll be back where we started. Carroll gets on base at a great clip, not sure about his defense at all.
