  1. I think you mean "superb" and not suburb but maybe he lives in Brookfield or something. And yes, that will never happen. He is a real-life Willie Mays Hayes. He needs to start taking his walks. Period. His .330 batting average in spring means nothing, I surprised Brewers management seemed to think something of that. There's a lot of denial this year regarding possible team deficiencies, I guess.
  2. Yep, the Braves are going to be really good this year. We'll be lucky to get 1 or 2 games out of this first home series.
  3. So far, everyone except Weeks - Braun - Fielder - McGehee has been terrible at the plate. The bottom of the order doesn't take ANY pitches. They're going to make it so the opposing starter can throw a complete game every time out. Truly pathetic. Hart and Lucroy can't come back soon enough, and Gomez needs to start hitting 8th or 9th. And yes, it is a joke that Kotsay is playing more than Morgan.
  4. I still have plenty of faith in this team having a winning record over the course of the year... but this series is showing: A) The Reds should be the clear favorite to win this division and it's going to be tough to hang in there with them all year. B) Our depth/bench is terrible and we will struggle to score runs when only Weeks/Braun/Fielder/McGehee can hit or get on base at all. I knew the bottom of the order would be weak, but it's truly awful so far. They swing at everything and when they do make contact it doesn't matter anyway.
  5. Yeah, Gomez is showing us nothing in the 2 spot. He isn't going to "get it". It seems like he'd make such a huge step if he could start taking some walks, but I don't think it's going to happen. Can't wait for Hart and Lucroy to get back.
  6. You can chalk a lot of this suck up to the Reds being a very good team... but it's not going to get much easier when the Braves come to town. Tough start so far. Can't wait for Hart and Lucroy to get back. Watching the batters after McGehee in the order is painful. They don't take any pitches and makes things way too easy on the opposing team.
  7. I don't think I can watch WMLW games ever again. It's so dark and blurry it's ridiculous. I seriously can't believe they have such a terrible broadcast.
  8. He's picking Gallardo to win the Cy Young, as well.
  9. you can charge your PS3 controllers at your computer, too
  10. oh man. it's just one game, but what a way to start a season.
  11. big run there. that run will make me feel a lot better the rest of this game. i've been nervous the whole time. because of yo's laboring it's kinda felt like we're stealing this one... even though that may seem weird.
  12. our second half of the order is going to make it so every opposing starter is able to pitch a complete game if need be.
  13. Rickie Weeks is going to earn his contract by batting 1.000 this season!
  14. surprised you still bunt if you have gallardo up and 2 strikes.
  15. I think this first month of the season will be the toughest. Hopefully we can hang around .500 and only succeed from there. A win to start would be great.
  16. Hardy is way too injury prone. I wouldn't be comfortable bringing him back unless we had a Counsell-esque guy ready to play at least 50 games that year.
  17. Terrace Box: Section 419, Row 4. Normally these would sell for $25 each (it's a marquee game), but I'd be willing to part with the pair for $40. I bought these and then realized I have another obligation that day. Email me at thesaltshakersband@yahoo.com if interested. Thanks!
  18. You think Milwaukee is cheap? I do too, actually.
  19. That's an insane deal for The Show - I'm a little miffed I bought it on Tuesday for full price... but I had a $50 Best Buy gift card... Anyway, I'm brand new to PS3 and The Show and I played for 3 hours tonight while the girlfriend was away. So fun. I picked up the pitching and hitting pretty quickly, but I made a few stupid throws in the field and lost my first game 4-2. Then I got killed by the Yankees due to some more bad fielding, and finally beat the Mariners in my third game. I haven't played a baseball game since MVP 2005 (which I guess I can finally sell now)... so the whole "laying off a lot of pitches" thing is totally new and hard for me. And I'm going to have to change my whole approach, because this game will be very difficult if you swing at everything.
  20. So... when am I going to get my 20 pack tickets in the mail? Soon? I'm getting very anxious!
  21. Team Rankings have been leaked for MLB: The Show 2011 1st Red Sox 2nd Yankees 3rd Giants 4th Rangers 5th Phillies 6th Tigers 7th White Sox 8th Cardinals 9th Rockies 10th Braves 11th Dodgers 12th Reds 13th Rays 14th Jays 15th Brewers 16th A’s 17th Twins 18th Orioles 19th Cubs 20th Padres 21st Mets 22nd Marlins 23rd Nationals 24th Angels 25th Diamondbacks 26th Pirates 27th Astros 28th Mariners 29th Indians 30th Royals I wouldn't put the Tigers, Dodgers, Rockies, or Jays ahead of the Brewers... so I guess I'd have them at about 11. The Tigers are way too high and the Twins are way too low. I'm sure this Cardinals ranking was done before the Wainright injury. I'd also probably swap the Phillies and the Yankees. I think the Yankees will be lucky to finish #2 in their division this year.
  22. You've never traveled to Africa to murder a lion? You haven't lived!
  23. I would rather go year-to-year on McGehee. He's not going to get any better, and I don't think he's in very good shape. I see his production likely to fall off a cliff within the next few years. I like him for what he is right here and now, but I wouldn't want to lock him in for more than another couple years at most.
