  1. Yep, they play our first EP on 88.9 pretty regularly, and thanks patrick - I'm glad you like it. We'll be on FM 91.7 on Wednesday at 1 PM if you're bored at work. We should be on from 1-1:30ish playing songs from the new record.
  2. Hey guys, Just wanted to let anyone in the Milwaukea-area know that my band is having a CD release this Saturday @ the BBC. And if you attend you get a free copy of our new album. Also, if you want to check out songs from the new album there are free mp3 downloads right here: http://www.thesaltshakers.com Thanks for taking the time to listen if you do, we appreciate it. http://www.thesaltshakers.com/img/071611.jpg
  3. I have a pinstripe/retro full size Gorman Thomas from a couple of years ago... any interest in that one? I'm interested in a Nashville Braun.
  4. In your guys' opinion... is it more fun to go at the beginning of spring training, the middle, or the end? I'm thinking of going this year and was wondering if I should go in mid February or wait til March.
  5. You definitly have to at least offer Lopez arby even though he probably won't accept... even moreso because I've never been more sure of anything in my life that Rickie Weeks will not play 130 games for the Brewers next year.
  6. This talk of a bad clubhouse stems from Anthony Witrado's comments yesterday on WSSP. I sure do hate that guy. I'm pretty sure he just is stirring things up by saying Braun and others are unhappy.
  7. Yeah, I don't really care for the early stuff anyway. Let It Be onward is what I was interested in. I'll have to check them out. I think most of their recordings could've been a lot better.
  8. Slightly off-topic, but are the Replacements remasters worth buying if you own the originals? Do they sound much better?
  9. I'm moving at the end of the month and this is what I have left after selling off my bobbles: * Gorman Thomas retro pinstripe bobblehead (full-size, not a mini) * Brewers infield nesting doll set * "Cheeseman". He's real creepy looking. See a photo of him at this auction link (it's not my auction). I will consider all offers. I'd love cash or a Rick Vaughn bobblehead if anyone's got one. PM me or email me at thesaltshakersband@yahoo.com Thanks!
  10. I sent you a PM, I have a pinstripes full size Gorman Thomas if you're still interested. Thanks!
  11. If Hardy was traded, that would mean that Melvin flat out lied about Hardy not being put on waivers. I hope you're right (if we're getting some good pitching) but I'll believe it when I see it.
  12. We've played with the Heartless Bastards before and they were a real solid band as well as nice people. I agree with that recommendation.
  13. Am I the only person that thinks McGehee is an awful third baseman defensively? I don't have any stats to back it up, I just have formed this opinion from watching the games.
  14. I am 100% into the idea of trading McGehee in the offseason no matter what. I believe he is playing over his head and also has injury concerns... and I think we could get something good back for him right now/in the offseason. I think Hardy and McGehee together (we might need to throw a lower level prospect in there) could get us a #2... and I think if you have that on the table you need to take it. Starting pitching is more important than infield depth, I think. We need to take the opportunities we have to get good pitchers, not average pitchers.
  15. This idea makes absolutely no sense. You're crippling your franchise with bad contracts for 3-4 years longer than you would be with Suppan and Hall. After next year, we're done with those two guys.
  16. Why does it take 5 years for these test results to come out?
  17. I'm glad we seem to be out of it for Washburn. There is no sense in giving anything up for someone that can only help us this year.
  18. Katin is not on the same level as Gamel and Escobar. I agree that it would be nice to get Gamel/Escobar some playing time this year so they're not completely green in 2010 when we need them to start... but you can leave Katin out of that plan. There's very little chance he'll amount to much of anything, in my opinion. I think you sell Hardy for pitching, and if the right offer comes along you stay open to dealing Weeks and/or Hart as well... but I don't think those two need to go unless the right pitching comes along. This team needs to get pitching from somewhere - for this year and the future. 2-3 starters are definitely needed.
  19. "Obviously the pros and cons of a Halladay deal are up for a 25+ page debate, I just think it's funny that yet another crummy performance by our starter is prompting these comments. "Why should we trade for a starter? Our starters stink!" I understand what you mean. If Doug could find a way to get us Halladay AND Lee or Halladay AND Haren and then I might be more willing to risk the future. I just don't think 1 guy is going to be enough to make a difference right now, so why risk it. Suppan's had a couple of decent starts lately... very frustrating to listen to today.
  20. I think what some of us are saying is that Roy Halladay is not enough to bring this team to the playoffs. Our starting pitching is in absolute shambles.
  21. it was 2-2, i went away and then put the radio back on. back to back to back homers? what just happened?
  22. I really don't see us trading either one, and I don't think we should. We need them to start next year - both of them. You can't count on McGehee to continue this level of play and you can't count on him to be healthy. He probably works best as next year's Craig Counsell.... although I wouldn't mind Counsell AND him splitting that role next year. I think they will both start next year and we'll trade Hardy and other prospects in the offseason for pitching. Hopefully we can get a decent #2 or #3 with the right package.
  23. He was DFA'd by the Red Sox today.
  24. Have a great time, I absolutely loved Paris. Watch out for those French keyboards though - they make you feel like you are learning to type all over again.
  25. This is kinda funny but obviously he doesn't really believe that - it's just something someone says/thinks to keep their confidence. It's a motivator.
