  1. Buster Olney from ESPN named the Milwaukee Brewers as his team to watch by citing their 17-7 stretch and the team in the best position to get C.C. Sabathia because they have a team "loaded with AA Prospects" to get the deal done. It's nice to hear ESPN come to the dark side.
  2. When a guy has 20 home runs by mid June, I think that complaining about a .319 OBP would be nitpicking. Ryan Braun can be the #3 hitter on my team any day of the week.
  3. Stetter has a sub 3 ERA in Nashville and one horrendous game was the reason he got sent down so I have no problem with him coming back and being the 2nd lefty out of the pen.
  4. We all know Cameron won't finish the season with a sub 300 OBP either so better things are to come of Mike Cameron even with the average start.
  5. Yeah I think I have to start doing that as well. It seems like this has become more about stubbornness than rooting on the Brewers to win baseball games. I admit that I'm being stubborn about it too, but I like to encourage my team and it's components. Ned Yost manages my favorite baseball team so I wish him the best and let's see what happens from there. This now has officially been my last post in this thread.
  6. That's assuming they play .500 ball from this point on the rest of the year. I think we're all hoping for bigger and better things. Like 90 wins!
  7. I would think about keeping Cameron in CF one more year and picking up his option. A lot of people take for granted how great his defense has been and how smart of a player he is. I would try to buy one more year of the great defense with our same outfield as this year in 2009, and then LaPorta's bat can play at 1B after Prince goes for top notch pitching. The Wild Card is Gamel, but I'd just let him work out his defense for another year in AAA unless he can prove otherwise that it's ready and maybe have him as a Super 2 for next year, but we really don't have to rush him and the better his defense develops, the more dividends it will pay down the road.
  8. So that series in St. Louis on July 21st might mean a little bit, eh?
  9. What would come first: The Apocalypse or the Brewers making a trade with the Cubs?
  10. The Rays would also be a great trading partner because they could use a DH while we could use their young pitching. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. I think it's time to start playing LaPorta at 1B in the minors because Prince wants that 9 figure deal and the Brewers don't have the capital to do such a thing. I don't think I'd sign Hardy or Weeks to long term deals until they prove a little bit more to the team. I'm still surprised that Hart isn't locked up. Maybe his agent wants to wait it out like Boras does. I really don't know much about that situation. I have a feeling our infield will be very different in 2010 if not 2009.
  12. Let's hope Zambrano is out for a very long time. I have no mercy for the lucky Cubs.
  13. The reason why Yost went with Tavarez in high leverage situations was his experience. He's pitched in a couple World Series and in the playoffs many times. He didn't produce in those situations, therefore, he's gone. Good move by Melvin.
  14. I don't know if I will be going anymore. I almost ruined my relationship at this past weekend's series. It sucks having a Twins fan g/f.
  15. All I care is that they beat the Cubs a few more times!
  16. Only 4 games out now that St. Louis lost tonight! Yay!
  17. Here is the statistical evidence you need: Mike Camerons sub 300 OBP. Usually you want #2 hitters to be on base so your best hitters can get them in. I'm sure you'll disagree with that through sabremetrics, but my idea isn't exactly frowned upon in baseball if you look at #2 hitters throughout the league.
  18. I'm confused as to how Dave Bush is a "League Average" pitcher while sporting a 5.73 ERA. I'm not sure that's league average.
  19. Although that could be true, from what I've seen it is not. I've been to a lot of Twins vs Brewers games in the last 5 years and every time I have gone, there have been plenty of jerk Twins fans each time. It was particular funny when the cops had to drag a Twins fan out of the game on Saturday due to disorderly conduct.
  20. It's a weakness of mine. I'm trying to address the issue of exaggerating to prove a point. It's not that smart because then people attack it in literal terms.
  21. I don't know if you are correct about Choate not being that good, but you do have one thing right: That Choate can get as much time as he wants to work things out in the minors. It has yet to be seen if he can produce in AAA, but if he can, I'm all for calling him up. He would have to outperform Stetter though in order to get that callup.
  22. You basically said what I was getting at except I was being a little more harsh and had some exaggeration in mine. Thanks for putting it in better terms for me.
  23. I wouldn't even bother with this idea. I'd just get Bush out of the rotation and find a better option via trade or in our system.
  24. I would be willing to bet that a deal will be made by Melvin at the deadline and it will involve one or any of Hall, Weeks, or Hardy to bring in another good starting pitcher. We just can't afford to have the inconsistency of Dave Bush in our starting rotation anymore. If we can get rid of this piece of garbage for a #3 type starting pitcher, the Wild Card chances multiply.
  25. I don't see how anyone can make a call on a 2 inch diameter ball (just estimating) while they are 200 ft away. Please put replay in so when Prince hits a ball 3 inches from being a home run that we can at least take another look at it.
